Yummy, safer + sustainable

Tastes great and my husband, who travels a lot, loves the convenience of the pull-top cans. He just pops it open and dumps it onto a salad, juice and all. *Hand-cut and packed, so it retains more of the Omega-3's than traditional twice-cooked canned tuna, and tastes much better. No added water or oil. *Sustainably wild-caught from responsibly managed fisheries. Each lot has a Fisheries Certificate of Origin (heavily regulated by US Dept of Commerce). No forced labor boats *BPA-free cans *This 'Elite Tuna" is skipjack (sustainable and low mercury), school-caught without fish aggregating-devices,. FADs make it easier to catch tuna, but lots of other fish/sea-life are caught, killed, and discarded in the process. This brand is more expensive, but as they say -- every time you spend a dollar, you vote. I'm fortunate to have the option to spend a little more for something that tastes great and is better for me and the planet.

Fresh, good tasting low-mercury tuna

I like several things about this product. First and foremost, it's very low in mercury. Second, it tastes good. It's good for making tuna salad. Mix it with some onions and cherry tomatoes and avocado mayonnaise for a great paleo treat. Third, like all tuna, it contains PS (phosphatidyl serine), which is good for brain health. And of course it's high in protein and very low carb. Great stuff :) It's nice to be able to eat tuna again.

NOT CAT FOOD

Other reviews compare this tuna to cat food and I think it's ignorant. People are used to processed tuna that looks bleached and smells nothing like fish. This tuna is delicious! When you open the can, the tuna looks very different from what we're used to. It has fat deposits and it's not all shredded because it's a tuna STEAK. I'm used to Italian canned tuna and this is the closest thing I've found so far. Very high quality!

This tuna is different.

Hey, it's just tuna - right? No, it's not. Finally a product that admits mercury is a problem - tests for it, and promises no more than a certain amount of it in each can. For someone who eats a lot of fish and loves the convenience of canned tuna, this product is a terrific solution. That said - I have tried high-end canned tuna and it tastes great. THIS tuna is just as good. Full of flavor, not just a few bits of tuna floating in a can of water. Great value!!!

Great Whole Food Addition to my Diet

The Good: • Low mercury – they guarantee they test each piece of tuna to ensure the lowest mercury • No aftertaste or anything weird…I’ve had bad experiences with the mainstream brands • Big Chunks that are pinkish. Actually, looks like tuna, not something processed • The taste for me was great. Its tasted like Tuna, but not really the “fishy” type. I did taste the salt…I may try the one with no salt added • The cans are BPA free…important these days Other thoughts: • I found out about this through Shark Tank and decided to purchase it. I was just eating sardines to get my fish oils but it would be good to supplement this in • I still feel that any amount of mercury isn’t good so I plan on eating 1 can a week maximum The Bottom Line: I try to stick to a whole food diet…and its tough as many of you know. I also like to eat fish, but don’t want the heavy metal accumulation. I went with this product because of their commitment to supplying low mercury Tuna…and guaranteeing it. Although I can’t test the product to verify, they did show testimonials online and on Shark Tank.

Safe Tuna that TASTES GREAT

Well, we all know the dangers of fish now, with our polluted waters that no one seems to care much about, in terms of stopping the pollution on any seriously impactful level, so now, more than ever, it matters what you're putting into your body (and even more importantly into your children's bodies), in terms of the "you are what you eat" reality. I haven't wanted to give up tuna, but about the best I could find was from Wild Planet, and they are definitely on the ball about trying to get safe products to consumers, and I was pretty happy with their tuna, and then I saw this at a store, bought a can and tried it, and just preferred the taste of this tuna, plus I was encouraged by the fact that they do claim to have absolute lowest risk (eg the "safest") tuna on the market. So, a pretty straight forward review -- tastes fantastic and is the most safest you can buy, so it seems pretty clear that any other choice is not as good, compared to this product, primarily if staying healthy is the priority. Not much point including fish in one's range if dietary choices, for health reasons, if the fish kills us, right? Yes, "safe" fish costs more (isn't that a crazy fact??) but obviously it is more than worth it, and smart choices in eating, plus a good range of supplements, thus far have kept me out of the clutches of the failing disaster of our so-called medical system, so I am just really thankful to the vendors out there who make products like this. Bad water, bad air, bad food -- it's a troubling time to be alive, and, like the rest of human problems, it's the mess we've made, so it's always a pleasure to find a way to work around bad options, to find something good like this. Highly recommend!!!

This tuna is the best I've ever had

This tuna is the best I've ever had. I stopped eating a lot of tuna after doing some research and realizing that most tuna is not healthy and has a lot of heavy metals and other toxins. Once I found out about this brand, I read up on how they test each tuna and only can those that pass their strict criteria. The result is an extremely tasty slap of tuna in a can that's healthier than pretty much any other tuna out there. This is definitely the only brand of canned tuna I'll purchase. My personal stance on meats and seafood is to purchase the highest quality that you can afford and eat less of it. You really don't need a ton of it in your diet to be healthy, so make sure what you're eating is high quality. Great product and it's inspiring to see that there are companies that care about quality.

Fish can be super good for you

We saw this tuna brand on shark tank awhile back but unfortunately it’s not available at any of the stores we regularly shop at even though the internet claims it’s available at several. Fish can be super good for you, but due to environmental toxins some fish shouldn’t be eaten with much frequency. One of our (then) baby’s favorite form of protein was tuna, but we couldn’t give it to him very often because parents are advised against it. So we started ordering safe catch through amazon and now our son and his pregnant mother (me) can eat tuna multiple times per week if we’d like with less worry. We also don’t need to cut back on other fish we eat to compensate for mercury content which is great because we love grilled salmon and like to eat that at least once per week. I tell every parent I can about safe catch to spread the word. Especially when someone tries to warn me about giving my son tuna or eating it while pregnant.

Fantastic! Just taste the juice in the can and you will be ready for your taste buds to receive a treat. Makes ordinary tuna taste blah. Knowing it is safe to eat makes me feel so much better. Dolphin safe, line caught, each fish is tested. Buy and then enjoy.

Very expensive compared the the stuff on the supermarket shelf, and worth every penny to those of us who care about the issues involved. Makes a GREAT Tuna salad and we appreciate the fact that someone else out these cares enough to provide this product.
