I’ve tried many different blocking boards, mats, squares - you name it. I’ve used huge pieces of styrofoam covered with fabric, foam floor tiles... the list is endless. Some were flimsy. Some were super heavy & hard to move. Some just took up too much space. Some smelled so strongly of chemicals that I had to use them outdoors. With Knit IQ I have finally found a solution to virtually every possible blocking dilemma. 1) they are thick enough that my t-pins don’t go all the way through (unless I really press hard) 2) The blocks are clearly marked with lines so I can space my lace tips evenly, line up seams, and keep pieces pinned out to dimensions easily, 3) I can configure the blocks to match the dimensions I need - no matter HOW large the knitted product! 4) The blocks come in neat zippered clear vinyl cases so they’re super easy to store - unlike a giant piece of styrofoam. 5) if I need to take them to a blocking demonstration - I just grab as many cases as I need and I’m set to go! Today I blocked a lace wedding Chuppah - the canopy under which a Jewish couple is married. It’s 72” x 72”. It took all 4 of my Knit IQ blocking kits - but it was easy as pie! I easily configured the needed shape and pinned it out. Perfect!! If you need one perfect solution to blocking your knit or crochet works...buy these. Believe me when I say - I’ve tried them all and nothing works as well as Knit IQ. And just in case you’re thinking “she must have gotten them for free”. Wrong. I paid full price for 4 sets and I’d do it again in a heartbeat!

Just blocked a scarf that needed significant stretching. It turned out perfectly. I researched for a few weeks before deciding on this brand. I like the fact that you don't have to use the block in any particular order because they are all identical and can be placed in any configuration. Comes in a handy heavy clear plastic storage bag. Ordering at least one more set. These squares are identical to one another so grid lines match up no matter the configuration you need. Very thick, pins hold perfectly. Very happy.

The mats are easy to fit together, and the grid lines are great. The foam takes the pins easily. I love that I can configure the blocking area to fit the knitted piece.

I love these blocking mats! The grid lines match across the joins, there's no funny plastic smell, and (unlike many other gridded mats) there's no logo or decoration in the center, so the squares line up without interruption! Also, the blue lines on a white background are high contrast, so it's easy to see where the grid is (some other gridded mats are tone-on-tone.... more aesthetically pleasing for decoration, I suppose, but not useful in practice). I bought two packs (18 blocks) and they arrived super quickly. For years, I'd been using an ancient folding cardboard cutting mat, and had convinced myself that was good enough... but it was usually way too wide, and sometimes too short, and pins wouldn't always stay put. These blocking mats are definitely worth it. Unanticipated benefit: you can block in 3-D if you're working in the round!

I've blocked numerous items on these blocks already. (I'm an avid knitter/crocheter) the grid makes it so easy. Well, much easier than masking tape on my dining room table, for sure. All the lines line up, the pins stay secure and my mini knitted patches were so much easier to assemble b/c they were uniform in size. Wished I'd have known about these years ago. Thank you for a quality item, and no I didn't detect any ill odors.

What a great product! There aren’t many blocking mats with gridlines out there, so I was delighted when I found that these ones did. Not only that but they also come with a nice pack of t-pins AND a bag – bonus! I wasn’t disappointed – these are fantastic. I can put the mats together in any combination and have the perfect grid for my knitting projects. What I really like about these as well is that they are super sturdy. I can put all nine together, pick them up to get them out the way of the dog and they stay snuggly together. This product is a MUST - whether your someone new to knitting or someone whose been knitting for years. Can’t recommend these enough!

These are my 4th set of blocking mats purchased and they are the only set that I'm happy with. The lines actually match up when the pieces are fit together, unlike my other discarded sets. Just used them for the first time to block a Mother's Day shawl. I steam-blocked but the ink stayed put; no bleeding whatsoever. I can't tell you how frustrated I was when the ink from other lined blocking mats ruined my projects! An added bonus is how sincere the owner/seller is. These mats cost a little bit more than the other sets I've purchased but would gladly pay more for a quality product and great customer service!

Fantastic blocking mats!!!!! I used these mats to wet block my knitting for the first time. I LOVE the thickness of the mat and the grid makes it so easy to stretch the knitting to it's finished measurement. I should have bought a second set as I was wet blocking a prayer shawl and could have easily used another set!

Over the past three months I've gone back and forth as to whether I really needed these mats. I thought towels on a table might be fine. but I was concerned that my projects would block properly. With a knitting project that needed to be blocked right away, I ran out of time and decided to buy these blocking mats. I chose them over thinner versions because of the reviews I read. With Prime shipping, the mats (and included T-pins) arrived the following day. I went into action, assembled the blocks to accommodate the size of the blanket I knit and, voila! These mats are AWESOME! My project dried quickly on it's surface, the T-pins attached the project securely to the mats, and I didn't have to think about the measurements of the finalized project. My only regret is that I didn't buy them sooner. I'll be back to buy another set for my jumbo projects. Keep up the great work!

I just used these for the first time for blocking a shawl and they worked perfectly! Each mat is over 1" thick and sturdy enough to have a good hold for my pins. My only wish is that I had purchased two sets of these since my shawl that I was blocking was over 6ft wide! In the 2nd picture I uploaded, you can see the other mats I purchased last minute which aren't nearly as thick and as a result, the pins shifted more easily on the other mats. These are quality and worth the investment. Plus, the T-pins (that come with the mats) are also very sturdy for blocking.
