Fast, easy and effective.

I live in a much older home and these fit just fine. Each plate has a plastic saddle that goes in behind the plate should you need less room b/w the plate and the end of the threads in your wall. Then can be attached with two screws (top and bottom) or one (middle). Tiny plugs are included to plug up the screw holes you do not use. The covers over the outlets slide easily. Everything I've plugged in fits just fine. They look great, are very easy to install and work perfectly.

These are great

I first installed these for my toddler, but then I went back and got more. I like the look of them, they’re pragmatic in places like the kitchen or anywhere you might have splashes near an outlet. They were easy to install. Only thing I didn’t like is the off gassing smell of the plastic, but once I installed it disappeared, so sticking with 5 stars *****

Great for a toddler room

Safe outlet covers for my 2 year old's room. The only thing is that I tried screwing in all 3 screws and kept getting frustrated that it would not fit right. However, if I only screw in the middle screw and put the filler plugs into the the top and bottom spots, it works just fine. My toddler has tried to figure it out, but isn't strong enough to move the outlet sliders and keep them in place to do anything. He's given up trying, so this is a win!

Excellent alternative to outlet plugs!

I just moved into a new home where an outlet existed right against where we wanted to place our sons crib. We still wanted use of the outlet when needed but at the same time, avoiding any potential mishaps with the outlet. These are a great alternative that (main point) maintains the functionally of your outlet. The spring is strong enough where a child (in my opinion up to the age of 3-4) will not be able to access it. It came with all required hardware for a wide variety of outlet configurations. I would definitely recommend/ buy this product again.

I had to get these because my baby quickly figured out how to pull out the cheaper little plastic deals you can plug into your outlet. These cost more, but it's worth it because I don't have to worry at all that he'll get into them, because he can't. I noticed that if you tighten the screws too much, the little covers don't slide back and forth but if you loosen them slightly the cover slides shut by itself after you unplug a cord.

The baby hasn't tried defeating this yet...

... but in the meantime I think it's a good buy. Very easy to install (the product comes with screws, but I used shorter ones I had in storage). Once in place, even for an adult, a bit of force is needed to slide the socket cover to insert an appliance plug. So far so good. Comes in a packet of 4 and I only needed 2 for now, so it's good to have 2 new ones in reserve for the future.

Great, simple solution when the plastic plugs just aren't enough

My 19-month old daughter really enjoyed taking out the cheap plastic plugs from electrical outlets - so mommy and daddy had to do something. These are a God-send. Super easy install - only thing to note (the instructions tell you, but who actually reads instructions...), DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. If you do, you'll actually compress the sliding mechanism and the cover plate won't slide. So - snug up the screw(s), but not too much. My daughter now just finds those outlets boring - she tried to slide them once or twice after seeing me plug in a crockpot, but the sliding plates didn't give way, and she got board. She never touches them now - wahoo! Parenting success!!

Will buy more!! - and Just Did!!

Caught these on Lightning Deal for a great price - wish I could have grabbed more at the time! Told my son about it and he bought them too. They look great and so much nicer to not have to worry about the separate plug covers when the outlet is not in use. Easy to install, has snap in "dummy" plugs to fill the unused screw holes and longer screws to use in installation - Perfect! Just bought/installed more throughout my house, they work great!

Great for safety and for upgrading to white

I read a lot of reviews on a lot of products before buying these and was scared because many other styles had complaints of being difficult to slide, or rotating on the wall. These stay closed when not in use, but easily slide with use of the prongs of your plug. I bought two packages of 4, so 8 total, and havent had a single one rotate on the wall. I'll probably buy more, once my little guy starts crawling. As an additional bonus, it let me upgrade my old almond-color outlets to nice white ones, without rewiring anything! Easy peasy! I will _not_ be removing these for standard outlet covers when our kids are older, I like them so much..

They are great for covering up ugly yellow outlets.

I know this is a product designed for child proofing the home, and in that respect, it does the job very well. The outlets work perfectly- you have to pull the cover to the right in order to get to the exposed socket. Easy for adults when they're plugging something in, not so easy when your sole purpose is to move it with your fingers. But that's not why I bought them. I bought them because i have horribly outdated looking sockets in my house - the ugly yellow kind - and these cover them perfectly. There are outlet covers made for this purpose, but they are more expensive and dont have the safety feature. So why bother with them? I'm so glad I found these. They are a good safety feature to have in a home, and they look nice.
