- This 12.5 inches skillet pan is suitable for both stove-top and oven for evenly cooking a variety of meals; silicone handle that provides a secure and comfortable grip when handling hot cookware on the stove-top
- While cast iron doesn’t leach chemicals, it can leach some iron into your food and that’s pretty good for health
- Cast iron cookware is comparatively less smoother than the non-stick cookware
- To clean cast iron, simply scrub your skillet with a stiff brush and hot water and dry it completely; it is not dishwasher-safe
- You can make or toast breads, casseroles, egg dishes, burgers, chicken, fish and more; after each use and particularly after washing it with water, you must thoroughly dry and condition the pan with oil for longer durability

Amazing for the price!
I was not expecting too much from a $25.00 pan but I love this pan! I seasoned it right away and used it for the first time to make risotto...delicious! I can't believe what a difference a cast iron pan makes. I bought one of those copper color pans a couple years ago bc I got suckered by the infomercial...as convenient and non-stick as it is, it's terrible for cooking. This pan is fantastic...heat spreads so evenly and it's very heavy, great quality. And the silicon removable grip helps so much. I would absolutely recommend this item.

New to Cast Iron
I'm new to cast iron cookware, but heard good things and wanted to try it out. First time and only time (so far) cooking on it I fried hamburger. Heated up well, cooked great. I realize the seasoning process will take several more cooking sessions, and until then cleaning might not be so easy. I also ordered Cast Iron Oil and Cast Iron Soap and glad I did as it made the cleaning process a lot easier. So far seems like a great quality product and I'm looking forward to using it again! P.S. The silicone hot handle cover that came with it is amazing!

the script on the underside of the pan transfers nicely into the scalp of your intended victim
This pan is just what you need when you really want to crack someone over the skull. As an added bonus, the script on the underside of the pan transfers nicely into the scalp of your intended victim, especially after being brought up to temperature. Ive used traditional pans in the past and they just don't transfer the sort of impact of a cast iron pan!

Nice skillet Would buy again
The inside bottom was ae 150 bit rough, so I sanded it down lightly with some 150 sand paper so it was smooth to the touch. washed it then wiped some olive oil on the inside. heated it up on med heat till it started smoking. then let it cool and washed it. then I coated it with bacon grease an put it in the oven at 375 for 30min. next day I cooked up some bacon with a little extra grease and the bacon never stuck to the pan. Great!

Don't wash
excellent pan. For those who complain about rust etc.. My Brother used to be a cook. His advice, never wash the pan. when done wipe clean and spray oil on the pan, If there's stuff stuck to it heat pan on hi and them pour small amount of water on it and wipe clean. Put spray oil on it before storing. Before using it heat it up good to kill any germs.Over time it will build up a smooth nonstick coating. Just keep it well oiled when using. I use spray oil or butter when cooking.

I have officially formed a deep emotional attachment to a pan.
I always wanted a cast iron skillet, and I'm *so* glad I finally got one. For starters, it cooks everything better -- which has made cooking almost like an all new thing for me. For example, when I got up this past Saturday, I said to myself, "gee, I wonder what it would be like to make the world's best pancakes?" and then I cooked pancakes on this cast iron skillet, and said to myself, "this REALLY IS the world's best pancakes. Does not get better than that!" Cooking everything I've ever cooked before has literally become a whole new experience. I've also had a number of times in my life where I bought things thinking if I bought it, I'd do more of something I wanted to do. For example, I've bought instruments wanting to play instruments, or bought games wanting to play some games with friends. In almost all cases, I buy that thing and proceed to not do anything with it beyond using it a couple times. Not with this. I'm discovering more and more that when you have the right tools to make delicious things, cooking is so much more fun than I ever thought it would be. I *look forward* to cooking. And, hell, even cleaning -- because while cast iron is a lot less scary to take care of than some people think, it does require work. And I kind of feel like with my new skillet, it's kind of like a new pet. And one that I love. But like a new pet, it sometimes needs attention that can't be too delayed. Previously, I'd have left a dirty pan in the sink for hours... maybe days. Now, I clean it up right after I eat, because it's my new 'puppy' and it needs its cleaning now. There's been a weirdly fulfilling ritual to this, though, that's connected me to my kitchen -- plus, I enjoy this new cleaner kitchen I've been keeping almost as much as I've been enjoying the food that I've eaten! To think a fairly small purchase has changed so much about me in such a short time -- and made me appreciate so many new and different things -- is, well, damn. I love it. A few little caveats: This ended up being a bit bigger than I expected, but that's my fault for not comparing the measurements to my existing pans and skillets. I thought this was a 'standard' sized pan (whatever 'standard' is), and it ended up being a good deal bigger than the biggest pan I had before. That said, I actually *really* like the size. This makes cooking a lot of things that was challenging a lot easier -- I made a *giant* thing of made-from-scratch Mac and Cheese (enough for 12 people!), and this actually managed to fit the entire thing. (And the fact that I could use one pan for the stove top *and* the oven was nice.). I also enjoy how much easier to is to flip things, and how there's extra space if I want to cook a couple different at the same time. Another nice thing: if you're cooking burgers or hot dogs, you can cook the meat in the center of the pan and have *plenty* of space around the sides to heat the buns, and this makes them extra tasty. It is a bit heavy, however. I'm able to handle it with one hand (though that took a little getting used to), but a member of my household in her mid to late 60s isn't. Still, she's able to handle it much easier than she thought the first time she picked it up because of it's second handle. Consider this the Great Sword of the kitchen -- a number of people are going to need to use its two handles to use with ease. The last caveat: If you've never used cast iron -- like I've never used cast iron -- *wow* do they get hot, and they *retain* their heat. I took the advice of all the blog articles I've read and seasoned it a few extra times before my first use, and the first time I took it out of the oven I burned myself -- right through my oven mitt. If you pick this skillet in the oven at very high temperatures, make sure to use both the silicone hot handle holder and a *good* pair of oven mitts. My burn was very minor because I had the oven mitts on, but they were crappy, cheap oven mitts. I immediately threw them out and bought a good pair of oven mitts on that were designed to be able to protect at 450. I haven't burned myself since, but it's definitely something to be careful about.

Great tools for home cooking
The pan arrived today and I tried it right after i open the box, the product come with good wrapping and I use it to cook Pad thai, my favorite thai dish, and it came out so good. the noodles are not stick together and stuck on the pan. The heat that went thru the pan is very smooth and heat up the food real good. After cleaning just don't forget to add some oil to the pan for a longer product lift. Really worth my 15 dollars.

Exactly what it’s supposed to be
Anyone who is complaining about this pan rusting doesn’t understand a cast iron skillet. I found this to be well made, with nice thick iron for even heating. Season it properly and this pan will work perfectly. It even came with instructions on that. Care for this pan is east. When you first get it, wash it out in case there was anything odd on it. Stick it on the stove or in the over with low heat. After a few minutes once the moisture has dried off, remove from heat and allow to cool. Use a paper towel to apply some olive oil on all surfaces and then stick in the oven at 350° for 30 min. After that, every time you use it just wash it off, immediately dry using low heat on the stove, and then apply a thin coat of olive oil. Just takes a few seconds and the results are perfect. Pan like this he eats the food evenly, is great for high heat work like cooking steak, or for baking in the oven. Only caveat is that since it’s made of solid iron it’s heavy. I got the 12.5 inch model and it’s definitely two-hander. I joke with my wife that if she can’t stand it anymore this will make the perfect murder weapon.

Easy to season
Easy to season. I know it says Pre-Seasoned but I seasoned it again before I used it. Solid. Love the rubber handle (removable). Cooked some bacon, added pasta and Alfredo sauce then topped with shrimp and cheese and stuck it in the oven to finish it off. It was yummy.

Great pan, seasoning still needed!
We LOVE this pan...now that we've seasoned it. You definitely can't pull it out of the box and expect to cook eggs on it. Pretty sure we've oiled/baked this thing about 10 times now and it's at a good place. We're first time cast iron users to it took a little getting used to but now we love it!.
