Confidence Booster!
OMG! I could not stick a person, just couldn't do it. To scared. I work as a PCT Patient Care Tech at teaching hospital where we are aloud to do blood draws. The nurses kept saying come on Anna stick me. It's easy to learn. I could not. How on earth will I make it through nursing school. This arm helped my confidence. I practice. I failed mirserable at first 100 stick 3 successful draws. I kept practincing. Then it happened. First stick successful, over and over. So, I told one of the nurses who is kind enough to teach me at work and kept telling me to stick her. I was ready to sticking her. Yes, on a human first stick successful, confidence threw the ROOF!! Now, I am sticking patients. Ok, for now, only the ones with good veins, I feel I can get a first time blood draw.

Great price, fast delivery, wonderful product
The IV practice arm is a great product at such an affordable price. When looking for a practice arm I expected it to be unaffordable, but at just under $110 it is a perfect tool. The product works great and just like with real IVs it is so fulfilling to see that red flash. The red dye that gets on the skin of the practice washes off easily with soap and water and because the anatomy is so real there are plenty of veins to practice on. It comes with two butterfly needles for venipuncture so if you want to practice IVs be sure to order some 22g catheter needles separately.

Great Deal + Great Product
This simulation arm surpassed my expectations! It is more than durable enough to get you through the nervousness associated with your first IV or draw (and school). The skin is super high-quality for the price and it will last if you take reasonable care of it. No, there is no blood or saline with it, but you can either make your own or purchase sterile water, a brand name fake blood product on Amazon and saline pushes for practice. You will need to reduce the density of the fake blood with the sterile water to fill the arm. You can also mix food coloring and water but it will not be as dense as a normal draw. I highly recommend this product and feel like every lab or phlebotomy student should use one before sticking themselves or anyone else!

Please read: this product is BETTER than you can imagine-as well as the customer service!!!!
Cannot express enough how wonderful this item is or about the customer service. I am a premed student in a phlebotomy course, and I had just purchased this for extra practice. It came with a slight internal flaw, and I ended up contacting customer service. I was informed that the entire team of doctors were currently abroad in Africa, and that they were not able to be reached at the time of my call. Within 10 minutes, 10 MINUTES, one of the wonderful doctors called me from AFRICA, and immediately over-nighted a replacement. I am currently buying more items from apprentice doctor…not only does this item feel real to the touch, but the items included, especially the book on flash-drive is probably worth around $300. And lets not forget about the outstanding customer service. I can't even get my own physicians to call me back and they are 20 minutes form my home, yet another reason I have quit a 23 year-long law enforcement career to go premed. We can use more doctors like the ones affiliated with these great student items. I also purchased the venipuncture kit, and I CANNOT stop practicing. I should also mention I am the only student in class with straight A's for the hands-on aspect of my course. No one else has drawn blood yet….I have gotten blood every time. Please buy this kit and others, I promise you will not be sorry!

1 star to 5 read update.
This is ridiculous for practicing IV's. You can't flow water or saline through the tubing and when you are in the tubing and try to flow it won't flow unless you infiltrate the tube which defeats the purpose. Update!!! So the seller reached out to me very quickly and addressed this issue. They applogized and said that arm was defective and sent a new one out the same day. This one was able to flow saline through the arm and we were able to pressurize the veins in order to get the initial flash. Skin is a little tougher than real life but all in all great for practicing and teaching others how to start an IV or draw blood.

I am now drawing blood like a pro
prior to practicing with the arm I was very frustrated because I was unable to get a successful venipuncture. However, after practicing with the arm, I am now drawing blood like a pro!

Pretty Happy with this Arm So Far
I'm pretty happy with it thus far. I bought it as a nursing student to practice my IV sticks. I've been using it a few days now, it feels well made, easy to set up, decent price, and it's great practice. Sure it may not be completely life like, veins don't really roll, it's easy to see them, etc., but it's great to practice TECHNIQUE and become more confident with the process. If you're able to start a line on this no problem and have your technique down great, then when it comes to the real thing, all you have to focus on is the patient. I've had no leaks or anything yet, but we'll see as time goes on. I've used the included butterfly needle, syringe with attached needle (they're about 24-26 gauge), and started IV's with 24 gauge over the needle IV catheters. You're able to advance the catheter into the vein, flush the line, etc., no problems. Mine even came with the supplies to spike and hang an IV bag. I did put a Tegaderm on one time over the IV site and it stuck REALLY well to the skin, so much I don't want to use the Tegaderm on it anymore because I don't want to damage the skin on the arm. Overall I'd recommend for those just learning venipuncture and IV's.
