They are WONDERFUL
These wheels were different than the double plastic wheels that came with the chair and they are the best I've ever seen. They are a bit bigger in diameter and that's a good thing, especially if you have a plastic mat over a carpet. I've only had them for a few days but I think the bigger size won't make a dent in the plastic mat like the smaller wheels did, and these new bigger wheels roll easily over the ones the smaller ones left. Since each wheel has its own ball bearings, I suspect there won't be any problems with dirt and grease accumulation on the spines like on the smaller wheels that swiveled using the spines themselves. Also, for the first time ever, I have no problems if I try to roll across the room and off the mat and onto the carpet. They roll almost as easily on the carpet as they do on the plastic, and I don't have to lift the chair to roll back on the mat. The material is such that they shouldn't leave any marking or scratching on anything. I love them!

These wheels work too well!
I too was once plagued with the standard factory shipped office chair casters. I've had my chair for almost four years now and was constantly becoming exceedingly frustrated with hair getting caught in my wheels, or being stuck on grit on the floor. To paint a small picture we have three cats, two dogs and a previous tenant's poor choice of bringing in sand to fill holes in our driveway instead of a substantial material. Hair and grit are constantly everywhere, over every floor and no amount of sweeping or vacuuming can eliminate this problem. Thus it brings me to this product. I figured a new set of casters would improve my quality of life even if just for a short while, much to my surprise after installing these hefty replacements I found that they work better than I could have ever dreamed they possibly would. The casters themselves have the brackets tightly fitting over the pins to keep everything close and neat and not allow hair into them, they are also coated with a durable rubber that allows them to roll over the grit and spit it out. This chair rolls so well now I can't even keep it still when I go to sit in it with my hands full, it just runs away! It glides effortlessly across the floor with the slightest touch, unfortunately my girlfriend's chair does not have replaceable casters or I would make her feel the torment of having your chair roll nearly friction-less across the floor. I definitely would recommend this for anyone with sad factory office chair caster woes!

These wheels are manufactured from superior grade rubber
These wheels are manufactured from superior grade rubber. I bought these chair wheels and they are just amazing! You can move across the floor without cringing, afraid you will leave behind scratches! I whiz across my parquet floor without a worry. They have the same texture as roller blades and glide with ease. They are extremely quiet as well. You will not regret buying these. They are a real pleasure to use. Just a note, when applying chair wheels in general, position them under the chair and bang them in from the top base of the chair. It is much easier than turning over the chair and trying to bang them in at the right angle:)

So smooth
These are like switching from roller skates to roller blades. They add a little height to the average plastic double-wheel design, in our case that was good. Very quiet, roll so smooth (on hard wood), no more getting caked-in dust and grinding on the floor, no more wheels jamming up and resistance to moving around. Easy to install: flip chair, pry off old wheels (this might be the hard part), push these in. Last thing, they look great -- visitors have surprisingly noticed them and have to try sitting in the chair and rolling around. Other than the fact that chairs don't just come with these excellent wheels to begin with, no cons at all and worthwhile for the noise and floor wear and tear.

Great Wheels! Love them!
Great wheels! I moved and thought I needed a new floor mat for my chair as to not wear out the hard wood floors from all the rolling of my office chair. I am very glad these wheels came up in the results since I do prefer no mat on the floor. (Sometimes you roll off the mat and then have to wheel back up onto it. Which means the mat would not be big enough anyway for my work area) I found these wheels as an option and they installed very easily. All I used was a flat head screwdriver to help loosen up the old wheels to pull them off. Pushed these wheels in with my hands and I was rolling with ease. Such a smooth roll compared to the factory wheels the chair came with. They roll smooth, silent, very nice. Thanks for coming up with such a great product!!

Easily doubles the value of your fine office chair
A few days ago, one of the casters on my 6-month old $700 leather office chair came apart. Before calling the warranty support to get another set of cheap 50-cent plastic casters, I decided to see what I could find online and ran across this product. Most of the reviews on this one are HIGHLY positive, so there's not much I can add in that respect, except to confirm what others are already saying, and that is that these casters are truly WONDERFUL! Now, let me tell you why... First, about the OLD... The original casters that came with this chair are not unlike the ones that come on almost every other office chair, whether it's a $50 cheapie from Sam's Club or a $700 high-end one I bought from Haverty's. The original casters are a plastic / nylon double roller that rides on a pin inside a plastic / nylon frame, with a rubberized outer surface that gives them some traction on solid surfaces. As the saying goes, the chain is only as strong as its weakest link, and in the case of the original casters, it's all that plastic; it just doesn't hold up, especially to the shock each caster feels as it rolls across the grout lines on my tile floor. While they did enable the chair to roll smoothly, you just don't know what "smooth" really is until you get an upgrade like these... Now, about the NEW... These casters are truly heavy duty and built with quality. First, all of the load-bearing components are metal-- The pin (obviously), but also the frame that holds the wheel. The wheel is set on a sealed bearing that is pressed into either side of the double-sided metal frame, which means it will NEVER pop apart the way the old ones did. The wheel is solid, with a solid rubber tire around it, which will give it traction on any hard surface. The quality bearing means the wheel rotates perfectly and effortlessly, which means it will also roll (not "slide" or drag) effortlessly on carpet. The wheel has a larger circumference than the original casters, which accomplishes two things #1, it decreases the amount of friction with the floor, which makes the chair glide truly effortlessly, even over the grout lines on my tile floor. It rolls absolutely silently; no clunk or rumble (thanks to the rubber tire). #2, and this may either be a benefit or a drawback to you, but it raises the height of the chair almost an inch. I have long legs, and I actually like this feature. If you're very petite in stature and keep your chair at the lowest height and already struggle to reach the floor, or if your chair's arms have to clear a low-hanging surface like a desktop keyboard tray, this might be a drawback. Honestly, if I were in the business of manufacturing office furniture, I'd put these on any chair over $150. I'd hazard a guess that if I called these guys up and wanted 10,000 units, I could probably get a good price on them, and even though I'm sure they'd price out higher than the cheap nylon casters that come with every office chair, the additional $10 or $15 that I'd have to add to the price would be more than justified by the upgrade in quality. I have always believed in the adage, "I'd rather justify my price than apologize for my quality." and it really hacks me off that someone would sell me a $700 office chair and not put something like this on it in the first place. INSTALLATION - Installation is a breeze. The pin size on the casters on any office chair I've ever owned are all a standard diameter. They're held in place in the socket (good ones are, anyway) by a snap ring set in the top of the pin. These casters have that snap-ring. The pins on these casters are relatively short (my old ones were probably 3/4 of an inch longer), but this had absolutely no impact on the installation. I would guess they are shorter in order to be compatible with a wider range of chairs. The old ones simply pull out, and the new ones snap in. You will want to replace the entire set of five (this set comes in a set of five, so why wouldn't you replace them all anyway?) as the height from the floor to the shoulder of the caster is a little higher than the old ones. SUMMARY - We'll see how these hold up over the long-haul, but I'm inclined to say these will last the life of the chair. They easily add $100 of value to the chair in my opinion, and I cannot believe how truly EFFORTLESSLY the chair glides across even the bumps on the tile floor with these casters. That seems like a very minor detail, but when you consider that I sit in this chair for a ten-hour work day, that actually makes a big difference by the end of the day, and I've only been using these for three days now! Thanks very much for reading!

I'm extermely fat and disgusted with myself however I am extremely happy with my purchase.
I bought these wheels because my 500lb frame demolished the wheels that came with this chair that was supposed to be rated for fatties up to 650lbs. When the wheel broke it shatters sending plastic bits all over the place. I orders the new wheels from the above listed vendor and it arrived in very quick order. Packaged neatly, professionally. I don't think they slaved crafting my wheels as i'm pretty sure they are a reseller but in terms of service and quality of good I'm Very happy. Since getting it and installing it. I have put all sorts of abuse on this chair and myself . and abused myself in this chair. I have heart the superstructure of the chair start to snap and buckle but these wheels are rock solid, reliable and and the casters roll very smooth. I expect when I finally fall from my poor health they will be rolling me out on this chair because it is far smother and reliable than those light weighty gernies the pack in the back of ME wagons these days. my Sincerest gratitude for this product and it's reasonable price.

These are the cadillac oof wheels.
All the other wheels my husband ever had marked the floor as my computer is on the kitchen desk, and the floor is tile. I love these new wheels as they are quiet smooth and never mark the floor. they are also inexpensive and have a life time guarantee. they are A AAA . Get them. 7 0r mo later. I loved these wheels for 7 or8 mo.. until I noticed little beads appearing on my kitchen floor. After a week or so I had about 12 little ball bearings so we turned it over and 1 wheels had no bearing left and actually fell out . If my husband had been on it , it would have tipped and he could have gotten hurt. I have tried to find a phone number to call the company but to no avail. I am thinking it was just a bad one in the barrel so to speak. I am indeed ordering another set as they really were exceptional. I am hoping that the one that collapsed was a rare occasion.

Bit softer than I expected, so takes a push to start rolling.
I love these. The kids love them, much to my disdain. They have banged up my chair and desk them rolling the chair easily all over the house. But while they have dinged up my chair and other furniture, there are no floor scratches. :) The wheels are softer than expected, but I think that a good thing. Means even on smooth floors it takes just a bit of effort to start to roll, but once moving they glide effortlessly. I have had them 18Months now and do not regret it one bit.

A Revelation in Chair Movement
First of all, the new caster wheels were a snap (literally) to install. Less than two minutes after opening the box I was standing the chair up to try them. Oh - What a Feeling! I've been putting up with those stupid, hard-to-turn, double plastic OEM casters for years. I never suspected that rollerblade-style wheels would be so much easier to roll/turn. Plus they are QUIET! Not to mention obviously being easier on our composite flooring. We will be reordering these remarkable replacements for all our chintzy plastic caster equipped chairs and furniture. Get you some!
