Perfect for eliminating small cut branches
Exactly what I was hoping for! I needed something to eliminate the small branches that I trim each year and the PowerSmart chipper has done the job perfectly. I wish I would have had it several years ago. It reduces my cut branch piles down to a few boxes of mulch which I can now use on my plants and shrubs. Great item!

Does a great job.
Having owned and burned out an other model of electric shredder after three years of use. I am impressed with this one. It is much heavier and has a larger more powerful motor. It comes with all the tools you need to assemble the shredder and once you have the stand and wheels on it is ready to go to work. And work it does. It plowed through a pile of dead branches in minutes all that was left was a pile of mulch. I have never had it jam on me but if it does the whole top comes off for easy access to the interior. It handles branches up to an inch and a half. Anything bigger than that you can cut, stack and use in your barbecue.

This is a great little yard machine
This is a great little yard machine. It is not an industrial tool and you shouldn't buy it thinking you're going to take down that maple tree in the yard and feed that bugger through in an hour. This is more the tool you use to chip up yearly trimmings from your fruit trees or decorative plants. It makes great mulch and the blades won't get dull for a good 5 hours of constant use if you are attentive. The blades are double sided so it is easy to flip them over and use the fresh blade. Sharpening can be done by hand or a machine shop will probably charge you $3-$8 to touch them up.

Great value. Does the job
Even after reading the positive reviews I was skeptical that an electric chipper at this price would do a good job. It does. It made quick work of trimmings from Crepe Myrtles and forsythias and even took care of maple and live oak. What would have fit into 8 or 9 lawn bags barely fills one bag halfway now. Also it's easy to use and had no overheating problems.

Great product!
This really works great. I used it for my rose, rhododendron, burning bush, cherry, berry, vine maple, fir, dogwood, snowball, etc branches. Easy to move around. Leaves lots of nice chips for spreading for mulch. 5/19. Continue to use this often. Very handy to roll it to point of use, shred the material and then kick the chippings around a little in the bed. Strongly recommend.

Work great
Been using this for a couple of weeks. I'm using it to shred mainly oak leave and branches. It is exactly what I needed. You cannot put brances in that are too large because of the way the feeded is shaped. I have not had one clog yet. You do have to be careful, of course. One thing that I learned was that if I put very long, skinny branches into the machine, it will catch and whip the thing around. They are not being overly cautious to tell you to were protective glasses. It is certainly not as powerful as a gas or deisel powered chipper/shredder but it is definately NOT a toy. I am very happy with this little, easy to move around machine.

great for getting rid of lots of long thin branches
This does what it's supposed to do at a reasonable to cheap price. In a short period I have used it a lot and I am very pleased. The design is both simple and very well thought-out. Here is my advice to potential buyers: - get ear protection, eye protection, and gloves, all important for operating - it says it handles branches up to 1.5 inches, and it will, but if you have mostly thick branches like this I think that you will burn it out or destroy the blade fairly quickly - on the other hand I think it will handle 0.5 inch branches indefinitely - it's best for long, straight, fairly dry wood - loading it with spindly branching brush is a hassle, and I think you might end up with jams if you load a lot of sticky or wet branches (I haven't needed to attempt this) - you get what you pay for so don't have unreasonable expectations - this is a backyard shredder that can leave you with one bag of chips instead of ten ripped up bags of loosely packed branches - this is not a wood chipper for disposing of a downed tree

Good little chipper for Florida plants
Good little chipper for Florida plants. More powerful than I expected. Works well on all dry/wet branches and handles dry palm fronds well. Don't recommend using for wet palm fronds, because although it handles the stem well, the leaves tend to get caught up. Of the electric chippers I tried, this is the one I kept... but of course it doesn't match the power of the larger gas ones.

Exactly what it's supposed to be
A really extraordinary product. Works exactly as described in the instructions and description, but it ain't a replacement for a gas powered $800 shredder. Used within the limitations in the literature, it really works well. Won't handle leaf or wet debris, but chews through branches, twigs and dead fines impressively. More powerful than one would think. Even though it's a mini - still wear safety goggles and leather gloves - it pulls branches in agressively. Just the thing for a small garden or lawn. After the first 4 hours of use, it ate through my pile of vines and branches like a champ. No need to reverse or sharpen blades yet, but it looks easy enough to to that. Be careful!, this baby is more powerful than it looks and if you do something stupid, it's quite capable of shredding fingers. - A great tool at an incredible price!

Works as Advertised plus Warranty
I rarely, if ever write a review but felt I needed to based on my recent experience. The chipper worked as advertised. Did a bunch of Spring clean and had a large amount of branches piled up. While I know the area I live in will pick up the branches if I put them out on the street, I wanted to take advantage of them of create my own mulch. While it took some time to send them through the feeder and get through the pile, I got what I had expected which was some fine mulch that I scattered in areas of my yard and compost. Fast forward a few months, I was ready to put it to use again on a dead bush I had recently cut down. The chipper worked great again at the beginning but then kept cutting out on me. I initially thought the fuse in my house may have gone out but that wasn't the case. Then I thought the motor may have overheated so stopped for the day. The next day when trying to use it again, I was having the same problem where the motor would cut out as soon as I was trying to stick branches through the feeder. I couldn't figure out what was causing the issue as nothing was clogging the shredder and motor ran fine with nothing in the feeder. I read through the manual and there was nothing in the troubleshooting guide to help me with my problem so I called the 1-800 that deals with questions and technical support. After a brief conversation on my issues and support gathering my personal information, it was decided that there must be something wrong with the motor and they'll be sending me a new shredder in the mail. With that being said, I appreciate them backing up the 2 year warranty. I was completely happy with the product the first time around so I won't let this little set back change my view. While I'm sending this response after just completing my support call, this review is also based on the assumption that I'll receive the new shredder in a reasonable timely manner with no further ongoing issues. If that's not the case, I'll be sure to provide an update and adjust my ranking accordingly.
