I have 15 of these hanging in a 60x40 shop ...

I have 15 of these hanging in a 60x40 shop at 11' 6" from floor and they more than cover that area with bright white light! I expected with a qty of 15+ that there would be some defective units however they all worked perfectly and I chain them in groups of 3 using their extra 120v outlet located on the opposite side from the power cord. The Picture below is with only 2 lights installed so you can imagine with 15 my shop is quite bright.

Someone finally got it right!

I admit it, I have this pet peeve about products that are poorly designed and when you buy them you spend more time getting annoyed because it takes more time messing around with them than is necessary. That is not the case with this 4' LED Shop Light. Someone took the time to think this product through from start to finish. It's well made, has a perfect design and even includes hardware that you just don't find when you buy something like this. As an example, most of the hardware provided is stainless steel! The hanging chains are already "Y" shaped for easy hanging. The light is sent with a cord that's more than 6" long (unlike cheap lights found as box stores) this one is 24". It has a pull chain and , most importantly, the light has a female plug receptacle on the opposite end so you can easily add lights together in series. You'll agree it's the brightest shop lamp you've ever seen. I'll be buying several more of these for sure and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Easy to install

Difficult to give a rating for this item. The issue is NOT with the item..this fixture is fabulous, exceptionally bright, well made, easy to install, etc, etc. The problems are with the packaging. As others have commented, the packaging for shipment of this item is absolutely deplorable. Mine arrived in little more than the consistency of a kleenex box, and the box was torn nearly in two. The fixture was clearly visible, and bent where the tear was (fortunately, I was able to bend it back into shape). I took a photo before handling the box on the hunch it would not illuminate. Fortunately it did, and I decided then to keep it. How it arrived with the parts bag including the hanging chains, hooks, etc, still inside was nothing short of miraculous. I'd like to order several more, but I'm not willing to play Russian roulette..instead, I am going to try to find it locally, no matter what the cost. You must decide if the gamble is worth the spoils for you. Update: I was contacted by the vendor, who asked if I would submit a photo of the aforementioned damaged carton. Glad to. Upon receipt, they offered a $5 refund...not necessary since I'd already decided to keep the fixture, but appreciated just the same. For this reason and this reason only, I am elevating this review to 4 stars. I am still seeing subsequent reviews referencing the same criticisms. The vendor has stated "We have informed our manufacturer to improve the package box. For the next batch, it will be better." I hope so. This could be a 5-star item on Amazon, but certainly not with it's present packaging and shipping risks. This is after all an electronic fixture..with transistors, capacitors, resistors, etc, that needs to be shipped fragilely. I would like to see the product carton placed inside of a standard brown shipping carton, surrounded with typical styrofoam "peanuts", then taped securely for shipment. I for one, would be much more inclined to reorder in the future having this peace of mind, and my guess is, others may too. 2nd Update: It is now April, and I have monitored reviews of this item since posting an original review January 18, 2017. The vendor has been promising to improve their packaging and shipping procedures on this website, and on that of eBay for months now, due to the plethora of consumer complaints. Unfortunately however, I am still seeing subsequent reviews referencing the same criticisms. I had hoped to see positive evidentiary changes, as I have been contemplating additional purchases. Because these promises appear to be disingenuous, I am returning my rating to it's original 3 stars. I will update this review as necessary. 3rd Update: Having now had a 3 month track record with which to evaluate this product, I remain impressed with it's build quality and performance, so much so that based upon the most recent positive reviews, I decided to risk their packaging/shipping procedures once again. I am pleased to report that all 8 fixtures arrived securely in separate cartons with added styrofoam and paper protection. I applaud the vendor for addressing the feedback on this website, and their subsequent efforts to improve and resolve this issue without adding additional cost. They have done so to my satisfaction. With it, this item now represents a 5 star product on Amazon.com

One amazing light fixture.........................

This is an amazing light. I was searching for a twin bulb fluorescent light for my garage when I first viewed this lamp. It had high praise so I thought I would give it a try. Wow, what a pleasant surprise. Not only is it lighter than a traditional fluorescent lamp it is far brighter and does not produce the heat associated with a traditional lamp. It also uses less electricity to operate. This particular brand comes ready to hang with all the necessary hardware , chain, plug in cord, etc. Take it out of the box and hang it in 3 minutes The light is very close to actual daylight, cheerful, and very useful to read by, etc. I am going to buy more for various parts of my workshop. laundry room, and garage. 5 Stars on this one

Nice bright white replacement lights for my shop

I decided to start replacing the florescent lights in my basement shop after two of the fixtures died (HomeDepot $19.99 specials...after 9 years) during a recent power outage. These looked like what I wanted so I tried two of them. As several reviews noted, the packaging of these is absurd. Flimsy cardboard and zero padding. Fortunately mine arrived OK, with only a small dent in one of them. Both worked. They were really easy to install, using the previously mounted chains from my florescents. I'm not using the switch, nor the daisy chaining, because the shop already was wired with switched outlets. The light seems brighter, perhaps due to the 5000k color temp, than my T12 lamps and is smooth and even. The tubes are frosted, unlike what some reviews claimed. Power is 39 watts per fixture, where the florescents are 70 watts, so the power savings isn't huge (a bit more than 1/3 less). We'll see how well they last, but I'm inclined to get the other 6 fixtures in the near future if these continue to work well.

I purchased 4 of these lights, and read the reviews about the packaging after I placed the order. I was very pleased when I received all four lights in great condition. The packaging issues seem to have been fully addressed. Each were individually packaged in a sturdy box with paper padded around the light which was packaged in its own production box. As far as the lights themselves they worked perfectly. They were very bright and the hanging brackets and chains worked great. I am actually going to purchase another light for another area

Perfect so far

The light arrived in a brown cardboard box of the thickness you would expect from an Amazon or similar shipping box, unlike the thinner green box shown in an earlier review. Maybe that's why it arrived intact and undamaged. I installed it and it is working flawlessly so far. Some details: the power cord is about 3 feet long so in my application I needed to use an extension cord. The on/off pull cord is on the same side as the power cord, and is quite short. Again, for my installation I had to add about an 8" extension so I don't have to reach up on my tip toes every time to reach the cord. The LEDs are MUCH brighter and whiter than my old fluorescent shop light as expected. The box included hardware I personally didn't need in the form of screws, plastic screw inserts, and metal wall/ceiling mounts. I'm very pleased with everything including the price. If it lasts a long time it will be perfect.

nice bright lights for the workroom

These are nice bright lights for the workroom. They are a bit lightweight in construction, but in way that's good because they are fairly light. Since they don't put out a lot of heat, you really don't need a hefty metal frame. These plug into an outlet. I may hardwire them into the dying fixture they will replace, or I may just get their larger fixture and be done with it. My packages arrived mostly intact. A few tears, but no damage. But they definitely were lucky this time. Pretty flimsy. Now I wish they made a interior floor lamp.

Easy to install, solid, and bright

The product came exactly as described: a very bright single LED garage light that could be mounted flush to the ceiling or hanging from the provided chains. I appreciated the dual mounting options and the aluminum reflector housing that less expensive LED lights left out. I think the reflector provided some additional protection to the bulbs in transit - the box was a little crunched and there was an easily-fixed-with-fingers on the reflector when I received the delivery. Two very minor issues: 1) The screws that came with the lamp seemed too short to anchor into a stud behind drywall. Luckily, the mounting holes on the back of the unit are large enough to fit a longer/beefier screw. 2) Although multiple units can be daisy-chained together, it's not possible to have one pull chain operate all of the daisy-chained lights. Each pull chain operates its own light. Maybe that's a no-brainer to some, but it was a surprise to me.
