Rice Every Day!
Here’s the bottom line. Every other budget rice cooker in this category is 250 or 300 Watts. This one is 350 Watts, it cooks faster. The others have a narrower cooking pot, deeper but narrower bottom. The larger surface area exposed to the heating element on this unit = faster cook times. Yes you can spend much more on a digital rice cooker with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi made of exotic metals with a cool sounding name but in the end don’t make the rice taste any better. In this category of small budget rice cookers I’ve done my research, this one works the best. I’ve used this same cooker for the last 15 year & finally just wore it out. I’m expecting another 15 years at least. I’m not associated with this product or any product.

Perfect
I have tried various brands, but this one is the best one for me. I don't know why I kept wasting my money on others. Definitely recommend this one. It's perfect. I use this one to cook basmati rice, none of the others did the job well at all. They would turn off without the water being drained, and the rice totally uncooked. This one though, cooks the rice perfectly.

Amazing and cheap (AND DURABLE!)
Amazing and cheap! This is small, compact and easy to use. If you have a family , it won't hold enough food for all of you. I just cook for me and my grandma and this is perfect. *update* after owning for nearly a year, with regular usage, this little guy is holding strong !

Simply the best kind of rice cooker.
Nice and simple. Got a new digital fancy rice cooker and regretted it. Rice took longer to cook, it didn't have a removable lid and was a pain to clean. Went back to this style and could not be happier. Sometimes simple is better.

I Now Eat Sushi Everyday with Ease
I use this so much. I love it! It is so easy to clean even if you leave it dirty overnight. You don’t even need to scrub it. It makes the perfect rice every time. I never really ate much rice before I got this, but it has become almost a daily staple. It is great for one person or two. I even had a sushi party and just made two batches. Everyone needs one of these. Extremely practical and worth every cent.

Doesn't reinvent the wheel
This one keeps it simple and doesn't try to improve upon mankind's greatest invention, which we know now to be rice cooker. I had another rice cooker for a few years that was automatic and had quite a few functions. But it took 40 minutes to prepare simple white rice and you had to be very precise with water level or you would not get very good rice. I cannot tolerate that kind of dishonorable behavior when it comes to rice. It was also harder to clean and I never really used any of the other functions anyway. So, when I was looking for a new one, I wanted it to be very basic and something I could count on. Rice is not something you want to mess with unless you want to displease the stomach lord. This one does the job perfectly. Shiny, crisp, flaky grains of rice is ready in 20 minutes. The water proportion doesn't matter as much. Good rice absorbs a lot of water and the rest goes out as steam, so too much water is usually not a problem with basic cookers. Unless, you get a fancy one that has lid with no holes. If you love rice (as one should), buy this, or any of the many simple cheap rice cookers like this. This is the easiest, quickest and most hassle free way to get the most majestic food on planet. I would strongly recommend not to go for fancy expensive ones. This is one of those cases where sophistication is unnecessary and simple means better. I eat rice everyday and almost everybody I know who eat it everyday tend to have simple rice-cookers. Hope this review helps.

My wife uses this almost every day...
My wife opted for buying this smaller one to take the place of our larger multi-purpose cooker / rice cooker about 6 months ago and has used it almost every day since. It is easy to use - even I can make perfect rice every time. It is easy to clean - while you shouldn't put aluminum items in the dishwasher, a little warm soapy water and some sponge action cleans it quick. Value for the money - it has lasted 6 months with nearly daily use at the cost of about 15 bucks, and it looks like it will last a good long time yet. ...Perfect for what it is.

No Complaints
It's a great little rice cooker for the price. Perfect size for us and works fine, rice turned out perfect. I throw a flour sack dish towel over the top when it's cooking as it splatters but so did my old larger one.

Love It!
I bought one of these for myself years ago and it is the only way I will make rice and grains now...I even make oatmeal in it because it is a no watch pot!! Yay!! This newer version also comes with a vegetable steamer which I wish I had in my old one! I gave this to my son who only boils pasta and dumps sauce on it...I am trying to get him to make some healthier foods and with the ease of prep that this cooker offers I know he will be on the right track.

Makes my life so much easier
Proctor Silex makes the best rice cookers available. My last one lasted me ten years, and it would have lasted longer if I hadn't scraped the nonstick coating off with metal spoons. Use wooden spoons or rubber spatulas on this and it'll last you decades.
