What are the options when it comes to adding a cushion between a metal floor jack cup and the painted underbody when lifting a car? Most passenger cars today are unibody meaning there isn't a full frame running from the front to the rear. So when lifting a car, there are specific locations that are reinforced and to be used. However, some of these are painted pinch welds or metal double thickness metal panels under the chassis. So do you use a block of wood, a towel, or worse nothing and risk scratching under the car? This jack pad is the perfect size for most floor jacks and provide about an inch thick pad on which you can safely lift your car at these jack points. Pros: the top is slotted to line up with the side pinch welds, the bottom is also keyed so it won't spin on the floor jack cup. It appears to be a fiber reinforced molded rubber construction, so its sturdy. Cons: none really unless your car is lowered and there isn't much ground clearance. This pad will add almost an inch to the floor jack cup height. OVERALL: totally recommended as a way to protect your under chassis when lifting with a typical floor jack found in most home garages.

I captured in detail below the width and step of each of the 3 steps as some reviewers have wished they knew before buying, but given these 3 steps it should fit many jacks. I absolutely love this. I have a craftsman 3 ton jack with typical bowl/plate like lifter attachment, sides about ~1/2 high with 4 equal spaced cutouts around the edge that are an exact fit to the tab like the protrusions seen as the thin middle ring on this. Never use a plain jack plate as is, the jack plate is basically a hollow bowl like shape which places the full weight of the car to be supported on just 2 points, each side maybe 1/8 to 3/16's, so no wonder why the pinch welds bend and other frame support members are bent or damaged. I use to put a piece of wood over the cup and/or use a bunch of roofing shingles (roofing shingles are great for tops of jack stands) so there would be full contact area, not a bad solution but the wood cracks you need fiddling around and its not the most stable setup. So this works great on the pinch welds, a nice long supported length of hard rubber like material that will give some cushion and not crush what you are lifting. It is equally as good on fame members which all have odd shapes and this provides same nice cushion and full support area. I can now simply drop this into my jack cup, which it always is anyway and easily lift my cars front end up by placing this directly under my front engine support then place 2 jacks or more at the same time. This is also made up of a very durable material that gives some but I have no worries about it cracking or splitting having used it so many times, there are no indentations or signs of wear after 2 months or so of heavy usage Don't THINK about it buy it, you will love it. Detailed measurements are below: Measurements, The bottom (checkered area) is overall 4 inches wide & 7/16 in thick, the next minor middle step with the alternating tabs ( this is what fits into the same tab pattern on top/sides of my jack) is ~ 4-5/8 to 4-7/8 wide tab pattern, outer tabs are 1-3/4 length the inner divots 1-1/2 length & this step is 9/32 thick, top is 5-1/2 and 1 inch thick.

The attention to detail is incredible. When I placed this Jack Pad on top of my Jack saddle (of my 1-1/2 Harbor Freight Aluminum Floor Jack),, it fit perfectly into the grooves of the round saddle. So perfectly, I decided to add some contact cement and permanently attach it to my Jack Saddle. The density of the rubber is also well thought out, and stands up to the welded crease pressure of my Frame Rail without any issue. The depth of the groove is deep enough so that the pad also supports the undercarriage, but most of the weight goes into the groove as it should This product is properly engineered. Buy this product, I am sure you will satisfied with it.

As silly as it might seem to write a review about a jack pad, this product deserves a positive review. Ordering thru amazon prime was a breeze. Shipping was fast. Overall product appearance met my expiation. I’ve used these jack pads on several vehicles so far with - two newer VW’s and a Nissan all with pinch welds. I’m pairing this pad with a harbor freight 2.5 ton aluminum jack. Fits snug at the base and sits very sturdy on the jack pad. The cross hairs slits for the pinch welds did their job - and are plenty deep to protect the pinch weld. Product did not display any unsteadiness while being used. This Product worked. I like things that work. Product displayed very low odor. As simple as this product is, it’s well engineered. Solid purchase. American made👍🏻

I bought this for my 2012 Audi--I needed a slotted pad like most Audi and VW cars (and many others) need for the side pinch weld lift point. The slot depth was perfect (most are too shallow for Audi/VW) and it fits all three of my jack pads: 4, 5, and 6.5 inch. The cut-outs and tapers allow it to fit many jack pad sizes--I think unique to this product The small end cut outs fit perfectly with the tabs on 4 inch jack pad, but you do have to carefully align it before use.

I bought this as an alternative for my old block of wood with a notch as a buffer between my 3 ton jack and the jack points on the cars i maintain. It fits well and so far works great. From the looks of it they took as many jack manufacturers into consideration when they designed it; mine is a 20 yr old craftsman floor jack. I live in the southeast where the climate can be brutal and i hope that this jack pad holds up to sitting my garage for the years to come. I will update this review if i see this pad breakdown or deteriorate.

Absolutely GREAT product! Will totally protect my frame rails when I jack the car! Wth the rails, I can jack the car in the center, and lift the entire side---two wheels off the ground. BUT, I needed a protective pad so I didn't damage the rails with the standard jack pad saddle! This works PERFECTLY, and the slots (I didn't need that feature after having the rails installed) are GREAT for those raised lip seams on the bottom of the unibody! One can place the rubber pad around the slot and NEVER damage that weld seam!

This thing is heavy and thick, well designed go fit on the jack "cup". I was getting tired of damaging and rusting out the pinch lift area of both my cars. I like to keep these areas painted without rust because I plan to keep my two cars for as many years as I will last. Retired and on a budget. This part is not cheap but when you see it and weigh it, you'll see why. It's for commercial use. Obviously I do not know how well it will stand up to the abuse it will get.

I bought this to do tire rotations on my 2015 Forester as well as other cars. I haven't tested on others yet, but at least, this worked fine with Forester. My floor jack is Harbor Freight 3 ton low profile jack, and it fits pretty well.
