Love this set! I had marble works as a kid, so when I saw a similar game in target, I bought it for my (then) 2 year old boy. He loved it. He loved it so much that I bought a second set. Then when I saw this set on Amazon I had to get it because of the different pieces that were in it. I even bought the super set for one of our friends daughters who is 11 and she loves it. This set has more pieces and it also has a loop de loop and a ball jump where you can have the ball fly off and into a little basket piece. This seemed sturdier than the the one sold at Target. The pieces fit together tightly which sometimes is hard for my now 3 year-old but also tells me that this set won't wear out as fast. This does fit the pieces from target as well so we can make a really big set!

I have been using amazon for years but this is my very first review. I wanted to write a review since this is such an amazing product! We bought it for my son's 4th birthday and he LOVES it. There are so many ways to build it up! Even though he could play with this independently, the whole Family joins in. The colors are amazing and you can see the marbles going through everything! The only downside was that we were short a couple marbles. there was an insert in the box had an email address to contact if there are any issues. I wasn't going to email since we still had plenty of marbles, but decided to anyway. I didn't expect a response however I received a response very quickly (within 2 hours after business hours) apologizing for the error and they are sending me marbles. What great service!!!

I'd originally ordered Meland's marble run but then wanted to expand it using Marble Genius pieces and asked if they'd fit. MG said yes. Turns out they are compatible because (I'm assuming) the patent ran out and Meland wanted to copy the success of the original. While they may seem super-similar on the surface, there are slight differences that make a huge difference: 1) Fit: Meland's pieces fit much more loosely than Marble Genius' meaning if you ever try to move it, it'll all fall apart while Marble Genius' is less likely to. 2) Marbles: Meland will ship you "32 pices" (yes, they spell it wrong all over their box) for marbles, meaning 16 marbles made of 32 half pieces you have to assemble. Who ever heard of assembling marbles?? That's so ridiculous! So, while Marble Genius' set is slightly more expensive, they have better pieces, which fit together more tightly making it easier to move and they ship actual glass marbles! The price isn't that much different, just pay for the actual original manufacturer rather than the cheap knockoff. There is a difference.

SO much fun. A little tricky to put together with only 1 picture of the layout but once you get it working it's awesome! You can also get a pdf file with additional designs if you email the manufacturer. Still, no step-by-step directions but if you look closely at the picture and zoom in to the different sections you can almost see all the pieces. The design pictured is way too top heavy so we had to make some adjustments and use a lot of masking tape (to the wall!) to stabilize it enough for toddler play time. This design is also over 4 feet tall when assembled so it was too tall for our 4-year-old to reach the top! We took some pieces out of the center columns and side wings to lower the height and used the extra pieces to add more support to the bottom legs. I find myself even playing with this after the kids have left the room. It's really cool.

This is a very sturdy set, I don't worry about my kids accidentally breaking any of the pieces when setting up or taking down. Adult help is needed to make elaborate runs, but my 6 year old enjoys tinkering on his own. This is great for learning cause and effect, and a great toy for a variety of ages. We purchased a few of the add on packs but I don't think they were needed to have fun, especially for one child. If you have two kids who each want to build something elaborate, you might consider more than one set. But this set is big enough for a few younger children to enjoy.

I grew up with a marble set in the 80s and was so excited to buy a set for my kids. I narrowed the choice down to three brands here on amazon and ultimately chose this set. Without testing any, this seemed like it had the best variety and the most amount of pieces. After playing with it (And my kids too, of course), I am happy with the variety of runs and more importantly, as a parent, they are very sturdy and would take a lot of break. It's a massive complete set and has everything you would want. I only have two minor complaints, which are not strong enough to deter anyone from buying this set. First is that $70 is a high price to pay for this set, albeit my complete satisfaction. $50 would be a steal and $70 seems a little too high. I have noticed the price vary since i purchased it for $70. My second complaint would be that the set doesn't have enough feet/legs. You can see the wild run made in the listing picture - you can notice that it is entirely supported by 2 towers of "leg" pieces, and the runs go back and forth from the support beams/towers. I'd really like to expand this horizontally and not be forced to build up, especially being forced to go back/forth so often. Again, two minor complaints. There are cheaper sets which I will probably buy down the road to expand this one. My kids (and myself) absolutely love this set. It's very large so there are always new options of routes to try. The feet (end of the run) is a nice pot that collects the marbles. The transparent tubes are a lot of run and again, very sturdy - didn't think I'd get those two together. If you are looking for a large marble run set, this is a fantastic set and I am extremely glad I purchased it and look forward to being a toy for my kids the next 10+ years.

This set is awesome. The parts are well-made, rugged, and precise. There are enough cool pieces to keep multiple kids happy dropping marbles into the funnels at the top. And there is enough going on to watch the marbles all the way down to the reservoirs in the feet. I was happily surprised to find that there were two "switches" included, so the marbles don't follow the same path every time. The set works with my existing collection of standard marbles, so I'm not limited to the 20 included pieces. The biggest problem I had with the set is that the layout described in the instructions is a little bit fragile and hard to set up. But it is totally cool as well! If I were to add extra pieces to the set, it would probably be plain old ordinary cylindrical supports; more supports would probably allow me to make stronger, less fragile layouts. I previously bought a cheap imitation. It used only micro sized marbles, and doesn't hold together very well. I spent a bit extra and bought the original, and I'm totally glad I did. If you're thinking about it, quit thinking and just BUY IT! You'll be glad, too. Oh, and the shipping was amazingly fast. Thanks for ruining my evening when I got home from work and found the kit on the couch two days earlier than expected. So I just HAD to play with it and ignore everything else I should have been doing! All in all, a fantastic buy!

I bought this for my five year old kid for Christmas which was the only gift she dreamed of. The marble run she tried in toy stores normally are Hape ones, wood but expensive. We talked to the Santa and he thinks this set might be better. And my girl turns out love this one more than what she asked for. The reason I love this set: 1. Good quality. The plastic pieces are in high quality, strong and tough. Absolutely no smell of the plastic pieces. 2. Fun. Numerous combination and extension options. The only suggestion I have is when playing on hard wood floor, it may work better if the footing pieces can have some protection cover to produce more fiction, so that it will be more steady on the floor. I don't have the luck to buy it with discounts and among all plastic marbles run sets, this set may be expensive.

Bought this set as a supplement to the Marbulous Marble Run - 82 Pieces + 50 Marbles (Total 132 Pc Set) Sturdy Setups with Clear Step-by-step Illustrated Instructions in Four Different Skills Levels With Reusable Plastic Bucket that we bought for our son Christmas of 2015. Shortly after Christmas he used gift money for a translucent set to get more pieces. These marble runs are very popular with the kids, and adults and opened up a new collection of marbles, of which we now have around 1500. I bought this particular set because we wanted more, and different, "stunt" pieces. I plan to give more pieces a few at a time as incentives. This set fits the Edushape Marbulous Marble Runs and I would probably recommend this one for a first set. Not that we are unhappy with the first 2, but this set offers more and different "stunts" and all of the pieces are building pieces, not just ornamental. Specifically, we like: The translucent pieces make it easier to track the marbles as they go through the run. The additional stunt pieces make it possible to have more involved and complex runs. Many that don't come in smaller sets There are 3 or 4 large base or reservoirs to catch the marbles at the bottom. Kids love to see how many marbles they can have going at once. These extra bases will keep the marbles from piling up too fast. However, they aren't as deep as they appeared in the pictures. These are great interactive toys. If you are getting a set I recommend you also have a large plastic tub to keep them altogether, lots of additional and more colorful marbles (5/8ths "target" marbles and "pee wees" work ), clear plastic containers/jars to keep the marbles in. Glass jars are great for decorative purposes, but pouring glass marbles into them can and will chip marbles and break the glass container. Unlike many reviews I have been reading all over Amazon, I'm not getting anything for my review. No freebies, no discounts. Just think these are great toys.
