Wow.
I've been trying to double flare stainless brake line for a couple weeks now, I've broken 3 other tools trying to get a good clamp on the line and none of them work. Until now. The line doesn't get squished, nor does it even slip a little bit when flaring. And as long as theres a little dab of anti-seize on the dies the operation is smooth and consistent. Looks exactly the same as the tool sold by Eastwood and Summit, and man it feels professional. In the pic the top line was flared with this tool, the bottom with an auto parts store tool only meant for soft line

Quick and precise flares
I wanted a nice flaring tool to replace a cheap one that I've struggled with for years. This is a very nice tool for flaring brake lines, off of the vehicle. It's simple and quick to use. If you are bending lines, and cutting the length for a just-right fit, be sure to allow enough straight brake line between the end of the line and the beginning of the bend to accommodate the combined length of the forming die blocks and brake fitting you intend to use. Add those lengths together and that is the minimum amount of straight line you will need. Otherwise you will find that the brake line that you spent a lot of time in getting the bends and length just-right, will not fit into the flaring tool because there is not enough straight tubing length. That's not a criticism of the tool, just a heads-up for the user.

Absolutely perfect!! Best Flaring tool ever, well worth the money!
As soon as I received this, I chucked it in the vice and began flaring 3/16" tubing. The very first flare (a bubble flare) came out perfect. Next step was the double flare and that came out perfect. Easy to use, compact and well worth the money I spent, just disappointed I waited this long. It also does NOT leave marks on the tubes like those cheasy auto part store flaring kits that have threaded holes and gouge your tubes. If you're thinking about this, stop thinking and get it now! You will need a vise of some sort to clamp and hold it.

Outstanding!
Had to run all new brake lines in the old truck. Had to make bubble flares, but the original tool that I bought WOULD NOT make one that looked even close to passable. It was another cheaper brand, that didn't mount in a vise. I finally broke down, and spent the money on this. You get what you pay for, when it comes to making bubble flares. This thing makes a PERFECT, to near perfect, bubble flare, every single time. It's just about foolproof, as long as you follow the directions. So easy to use as well. I had to make a bunch of bubble flares, as I ran all new NICOPP lines everywhere. Not a single one leaked. Remember, this thing mounts in a vise, so make sure you have one handy. It's not meant to use underneath your car.

The only way to make flared lines!!
I have used several methods for flaring fuel and brake lines. This is by far easily the best I have ever used. much better than hydraulic units that have similar dies. What makes this one better? This tool clamps in a vice and everything is stable. There is a turret style tool that allows you to make several flares with the same tooling. The feature I really like about this tool is the squaring head. There is a spot on the turret that has a plug that you push the line back to square it with the die. Perfectly every time. You will need a couple extra tools to make perfect flares. You will need a tubing cutter, countersink to clean out the hole after cutting, a file to smooth the outside of the line after cutting, and some lubricant when using the tool to make the flare. If you follow this method, it is almost impossible to make a bad flare. This tool will make you look like a pro with some practice. Enjoy!

The tool I wish I had years ago.
This is the flaring tool I wish I had years ago. It does the job beautifully. Forget all the other cheap flare tools that don't hold your lines in place or make crooked flares. This makes the brake job much, much, MUCH faster. I promise. It now takes me less than 20 seconds to complete a double flare. On a stainless line! Try that with your cheap, slipping bench flare tool. If you anticipate that you will be doing at least one brake/fuel/hydraulic job per year, buy this tool. It will be a good thing to have in your tool chest.

Absolutely worth the investment!
Although I think the price tag is way too high, it is still cheaper than the competitors' lookalikes. I started with an OEM $20 flaring tool. I was able to make usable brake lines with that. I then moved on to 5/16" Ni-Au fuel line, but could not get a usable flare no matter how perfectly I prepped the parts. This tool literally gave me a perfect flare in seconds. The only downside is having to mount it in a vise. The nice thing about doing the brake lines with the OEM tool was I could do it on the truck.

Perfect flares every time.
The bar type flaring tools are impossible to center and keep centered on the tubing and produce small diameter flares less than the the tubing ID. I tried the tool with threaded dies. I got one inferior flare. The threads stripped on the second flare. This tool produced gorgeous fully sized flares every time with little effort and setup. The dies on this tool do not destroy the outside coating on the tubing leaving gashes to rust the tubing and nut together. Yes, there is no way to use this tool inline but I have learned to replace the whole line if you want ease and safety. It's not made in the US but at least it's not Chinese junk. Well worth the cost. Reviews said stainless steel tubes slip. I haven't yet but try wrapping the tube in plastic wrap before putting it the die.

This the flare tool you've been looking for.......
If I had purchased this tool earlier in my life, I would have saved enough to buy 3 of them by not buying all the other flare tools. Even if you, like me, don't need one that often, this will make all the flares, all the time, in all materials. Well worth the price of admission.
