This stuff looks terrific after you have washed it and broken up the larger pieces..Handle the bags with gloves as there are tiny shards of glass that will pierce your skin if you don't..The washing will rinse away the tiny loose stuff.. I used a colander borrowed from the wife, a few pounds at a time hosed off in and area that the dogs wouldn't be walking around in..For the price the prep work is worth doing as it is really beautiful glass.. The other thing is that this stuff is broken glass and the size of the pieces can't be regulated so don't expect all the glass to be 1/2 inch

Looks great with fire pit on, even casts a reflection of sun on walls in daylight

Ordered 2 bags and put in large propane fire pit. They make the fire sparkle. The color looks good with the tile. Overall good purchase and convenient to order from Amazon. I move these around with my hands but probably not recommended.

Product is exactly what we wanted and it shipped fast and was packaged well for the weight. FYI to other buyers, 20 pounds is not as much as you think it might be! We could have used another 10 pounds for our fire table. Note that this particular type is more like the chunks of a thick broken mirror, rather than smooth pebbles. I have both kinds, and prefer this. The mirrored surface really does reflect light better and the jaggedness of the pieces is more rustic and fills the space up better. The smoother rocks remind me of a fish tank and you need a million of them. See comparison photo.

Magical

Product arrived well packaged and on time. We purchased 20 lbs of the reflective gold colored fire glass and are extremely happy with it. It fits perfectly in our propane fire pit. The change over the lava rocks that came with the fire pit is amazing. At night, when lit, the fire is magical. It really looks like fire on top of melting ice. In addition, the fire rocks retain heat better and are safer than the lava rocks. Highly recommend!

Looks amazing in sunlight or with the fire going at night

This glass is absolutely stunning. Looks amazing in sunlight or with the fire going at night. I had heard that when you receive fire glass that there will be lots of little tiny pieces and lots of dust that you need to sift or strain out so it doesn't clog your burners. So i got a strainer and a sifter and and poured the glass into the strainer/sifter and there was almost nothing at all that was strained out. The pieces were all the right size and were perfect! Only tiny criticism is that when i weighed the bags they weighed about 18 pounds rather than 20 pounds... but i did weigh them on a scale meant to weigh humans so maybe it was not totally accurate. Even if it was accurate the 18 pounds was more than enough. I already had some black glass in the firepit that came with it so I only used one bag of this fireglass to put on the top because it looks so much better than the black glass i already had in there. So now we have a whole bag left that we will definately use to decorate other things like plants, vases and things. Its really really pretty

Stunning

When we decided to change out our lava rock we looked at a lot of glass. After reading the reviews we decided to get these. Yes, the cost was a bit higher, but well worth it. The glass is beautiful in the day and sparkles like diamonds when the fire light through it. We are very happy with the product.

Beautiful glass but amount of glass calculator was way off... Only needed 20 pounds when calculator indicated 36 pounds.

I purchased this in replacement of the lava rock that was included with my fire pit. First off let me say that the fire glass calculator I used and I tried several all coming up with the same amount I would need was considerably off. My fire pit is round and has a area that the glass would be laid in as 17 inches in diameter and 3 inches deep. The calculators indicated I needed 36 pounds of glass, so I actually ordered a 20 pound and a 10 pound figuring if the 6 pounds I would be light I could always use some of the lava rock underneath to take up space that would never be seen. However 20 pounds was PERFECT. I have to send the 10 pounds back as I never opened it. According to the instructions the gas burner should be covered about 1 inch and the ignitor area kept clear. If I added additional glass the burner would be buried more then 1 inch and I would have to mound it up as it would spill out onto the outer ring surrounding the pit area.. Not sure how they calculate it but you would be better off getting less and order more if needed. Funny thing was I weighed the lava rock and only had roughly 6 pounds of lava rock. Now I understand there is a weight difference and volume difference between the 2 but just to give an idea how much lava rock my pit came with compared to glass needed. Now as far as the glass goes its beyond what I imagined. I got it in time for my wife's birthday party over Memorial Day weekend. We got several compliments on it and I can say at night with the reflection it looks like running water among the flame, so very cool. The glass has no sharp edges and is beautiful. You cannot go wrong with this stuff and highly recommend getting the reflecting glass. Mind you basically half of each piece of glass has a mirror on it, thats how it reflects.. Not sure how that will hold up but so far no discoloration, no burning, cracking of the mirror side etc... So well worth upgrading your fire pit with this glass.

Mesmerizing

I love this glass! I put it on the botttom, and then a light layer of the Golden Flame Gold Rush on top, it's just mesmerizing to look at! Even my husband took every opportunity to sit in front of it, on our deck, with a glass of wine, before the heat set in and we couldn't use it. Can't wait for fall to get here so I can fire it up again!

Good buy

Very nice and a good price for what I was looking at everywhere else. I was expecting that the 1/2" size to be a little smaller than what I received. The color is nice and looks better than a lighter color because using it with propane it gets sooty. 20 lbs was a good amount for a 14"X14" fire pit and just covered the burner ring enough to conceal it.

Couldn't be happier with my purchase

Couldn't be happier with my purchase. Yes, it gets pricey if you have a large fire pit but it looks so beautiful. For reference I bought the RH 48' square fire pit and needed a total of 80 lbs of glass and it is NOT too much, just perfect. I started with 2 x 20 pound pack and it clearly was half full so I ordered another 2x 20 for a total of 80 lbs and now it looks full and lights well (you don't want to over load or it will be hard or impossible to light up). Love the color, Caribbean blue reflective, very shiny turquoise blue. I went with the 1/2 inch and again very happy with the choice. The 1/4 perhaps looks good too, but for a large fire pit, I prefer 1/2. We have only used it two days but so far the glass looks phenomenal. I will update in a few months or a year to see how it is holding up with the heat. Thank you!
