On/off switch broke
The unit works fine, except that after two months the on/off switch is stuck in the on position. It still dehumidifies but I have to unplug it to shut it off. I am editing my rating and review after receiving contact from the CEO of the company. He apologised for the problem I had encountered and offered a full refund including shipping. I was very impressed that he was so willing to stand behind his products. My advice is to buy the dehumidifier because like many Amazon sellers they stand behind their products. I'm very impressed and truly appreciate this seller and the Amazon marketplace. The refund was already on my credit card when I checked!

Offsets humidity added by personal space swamp cooler
Works. Using it 24/7 in a 12x12x8 bedroom in Houston where it is upper 90% humidity from after sunset til late morning May until Sept. Upstairs AC doesn’t cool this room & the humidity raises the heat index. We got this because we’re running a personal space desktop swamp cooler plus fan to cool the room. This dehumidifier is the only reason the mychill cooler works in this climate. Update: daily pulls 1/2 tank of water from the air in the bedroom. Silent operation & easy to empty. Plan to add more of these around the house to keep humidity down and reduce AC usage and mold risk. These are much more convenient than the loud 70lb dehumidifiers that vent out a window.

Big things DO come in small Packages
I was skeptical at first when purchasing this. I felt like something this small surely wouldn't work the way I needed it to. This has been one of the BEST investments ever. I live in a basement apartment and I get my share (waay to many) of spiders and cave crickets. Cave Crickets literally freak me out. However, since purchasing this dehumidifier, the amount of creepy crawlies has been very few. I have seen 2 in the last month versus 7 in one day. It makes very little noise, (white noise) The tray is conveniently located in the front, when the light comes on, the machine turns itself off and you dump the container. How easy is that?? I dust the tray off, reinsert it and turn the machine back on. I would definitely purchase this item again.

Money well spent
If you do a search online about humidity, you will get everyone's opinion, plus their brothers. Some want the relative humidity, some the dew point. Both have their benefits as to what you are relating them to. I want to remove the moisture out of the air here in Pennsylvania where moisture in the air is a problem, especially in the summer months. Our apartment is half underground and this moisture causes mold, which is unhealthy as well as destructive to personal items. Day one of using this appliance, in the first 12 hours it removed 1 1/2 cups of water from the air. I measured this precisely, to the last ounce. Turned it off overnight for safety concerns and then back on continusly since then. It has removed at least 3/4 cup of water daily in the 5 days of use. I also want to mention that we don't have an exhaust fan in the bathroom to remove the hot moist air from showering, and we have a 20 gallon aquarium which also adds moisture to the air. The indoor temperature is usually low to mid 70's and with this unit it doesn't have that muggy feeling that was present before. Now, I also want to state that I didn't have the residence shut up as tight as a drum. On cooler nights I open the windows and use 2 fans to exchange the air indoors. This I do on nights I don't work and the amount of moisture collected the next day is about 1/4 more than the days that don't have ventilation. So, I am guilty of letting moisture in, but I want the cooler nighttime air for comfort reasons. A fair trade, and a win, win for me with this unit. Breathing is better than before. It doesn't feel as warm and stuffy, and the mold/mildew hasn't the conditions it needs to survive. I also want to state that the box claims that this is for 2200ft 3. If I'm not mistaking, the 3 designates cubic feet, not square feet. Our living area is approximately 2200 square, so, I'm no doubt over the recommended area. So, if you ask if the price is worth it, and would I purchase this again. Your darn tooting I would with no second thoughts. This part is concerning some of the reviews about the unit being wet under the reservoir when they empty it. Expect this if you just turned it off. The machine is still doing its job till it cools off. It will drop until it cools off. Compare it to turning the water off on your garden hose and then squeezing the trigger. You know what's gonna happen. Just wipe the inside of the housing dry and quit gripping about it. Next, in an update I will address the difficulty some seem to be having of removing the drain plug. Is it necessary for the operation? Stay tuned. I will continually update this review as to the performance of this unit as well as the longevity of it. And in case your wondering, no I am not affiliated with this company, get no kickback for this review. And, rest assured, 5 stars can just as easily become 1 star if the product warrants it! Update: 7/18/17 - Yesterday the 17th, I removed the drain plug from the tank and let the unit run overnight without it. In the morning I had collected approximately 1/2 cup of water. So as far as I can tell, the drain plug has no bearing on the operation of this machine. Not sure if it may affect the shut-off feature when the tank is full as I haven't tested that yet, but plan to very soon. Update 9/04/17. Using a paper towel helps in the removal of the drain plug. Just get it under your thumb and the edge of the plug, and it should pop out fairly easily. Any material of your choosing will work just as well. If your still having problems with it, just remove it altogether. I haven't seen any adverse problems relating to its being installed. OK, so I've had this little machine for about 4 months now. Still working like a champ. I only turn it off to empty the tank each day, and that is just two or three minutes. The collection of the moisture has dropped mainly from lower humidity here in PA, as well as, less available for it to get from the environment. I still collect about 1 1/2 cups daily on average, so its still doing its job spectacularly. I plan on keeping this machine running continually over the fall/winter, and unless I have any problems, this will be the last update for it. I feel I've already gotten my monies worth from it over the summer months.

I love this little guy
I love this little guy! It is small, quiet, and very effective. I live in a wooded, rural area in Tennessee. I have one above ground spring and one underground stream on my property close to my 1400 sq ft home. In the summer, it gets very humid and my AC unit works overtime to cool and dehumidify. This little guy works wonders as a whole house unit when centrally located or as a spot dehumidifier in the kitchen when I'm cooking. It is easy to handle, easy to move from spot to spot, and easy to empty. I highly recommend it for small, open floor plan houses. It is so affordable, that purchasing several units for larger homes, sure beats spending hundreds on large units that require drains.

This is a great little machine
This is a great little machine. I have had the smaller version for several years and never once had a problem with it. This unit is the same principle but quite a bit larger. It removes quite a bit of water from the air. Have dumped it about twice a week. A little noisier than the small one mainly because it's a larger motor but not noisy enough to bother me. Love it.

Tiny, but Mighty in NE Texas
We just moved to North East Texas, from California. Apparently it's an early summer this year. There's so much humidity that the undersides of my pillows on my bed were getting mildew spots (so gross!) & the bath towels are taking almost two days to dry. I purchased this adorable little dehumidifier cause I didn't want the monster sized ones. My hubby kept saying I was crazy to buy this little machine; that it couldn't make a dent in our house's moisture level. I really needed this machine to pull thru cause I hate being wrong hahaa. Not only did this machine impress me, but Mr Nay-Sayer was so impressed he asked me to order a couple more for different areas of the house!!! Way to go, little guy!!! You are definitely worth the money & I will be recommending you to my friends :)

Compact and works perfect for an RV
The unit works as advertised and really helps with moisture build-up in our RV. Having Paired it with a properly calibrated hygrometer helps to ensure that our RV interior remains in the ideal comfort humidity between 30 and 60% humidity.

Works great
I have this guy in a room almost double the recommended size but it still makes an impact to the humidity levels. The noise it makes is noticeable in a quiet room, but wont make you turn the TV up or anything. Takes about 3 days to get full. The water tastes strange (just kidding it tastes fine!)(just kidding I didn't drink it)

Like it!
This small, light dehumidifier seems to be doing a wonderful job in our 24 ft. motor home. We live in South Georgia and the humidity is unbelievable. We were using DampRid and having to replace them every 3 weeks or so. This little unit is pulling so much more water out of the air and does it very quietly. We are leaving for a month long trip in a few weeks so am happy we got a small one that we can carry with us but am curious to see how it will handle the condensation in the motor home. With cooking, showering and just regular humidity it really it can make it very humid. I had looked at getting a 30 pint dehumidifier but they are so heavy and most people say they are noisy. I know the way they are made they do an excellent job of getting water out of the air. Guess I will see if I made the right decision I did buy the Square Trade 2 year warranty for this since the price was less than $10 for 2 years and figure we will be using this 24/7.
