Fits my dewalt
Worked perfectly in my DEWALT 10 gallon shop vac...that physics mantra for every action there is an equal an opposite reaction applies to these 2 stage DEWALT shop vacs. I have had all sorts of shop vacs but I have never seen anything like the DEWALT...it is almost like having a blower opposite of the vacuum. The first time I noticed it is when I was vacuuming in my shop with the fact facing a table where I had been doing some work and all the sudden I realized paper, saw dust everything was blowing off the table. The next time I noticed was when I was vacuuming some sheet rock dust on one side I was blowing it like leaves on the other side. This diffuser helps a lot...but as long as this vacuum picks up so well there has to be that “opposite reaction.”

Attaches easily, as advertised it clips right on.
This works exactly as I expected and keeps fine dust from exiting the exhaust port. The term "muffler" apparently leads some people to believe that this will quiet the motor noise. Really? No it cannot quiet the motor noise!

Does not muffle noise but muffles exhaust blast.
Does not muffle noise but muffles exhaust blast.. reduces blowing dust around the shop. Fit fine on my Stanley 8 gallon, 6hp stainless tank shop vac. that I picked up a few years ago.

Works well for Craftsman shop vac
First of all this is not a noise suppressor for your shop vac. It will not reallt reduce the noise at all. What this does is diffuse the air stream that comes out the exhaust tube. You hook this on the vacuum and it redirects the airflow in various directions so it isn't like a guiser of air shooting out the side. It works very well

Works great
Works great, make sure you clean it out from time to time. I retrofitted mine to work on a mini shop vac

They work!
I have a craftsman 9 gallon and a Dewalt 14 gallon vacuum and I have one of these diffusers on both. They really do work on suppressing the noise as well as a final defense against dust that may be exhausted.

Diffuses air output, noise not so much
I have an old Craftsman vacuum that I bought in Sears back in the day, and I decided to give this thing a try, as I don't like the output air blowing all the dust all around the house before you can clean the floors. It fits perfectly, and it helps to spread the air so it doesn't blow in one direction, however it doesn't reduce the vacuum sound noise.

Great
Works on my Craftsman dry/wet shop vac, didn't know such thing existed until I saw it on a deal website. It works great, my vac no longer blowing dust all over the place, I don't think it negatively affect the suction power in any way.

fit well, reduced exhaust blowing stuff around
Not much of a reduction in noise but helps with not blowing dust all over the place. If you suck up drywall dust without using a fine filter, this will also get clogged, easy enough to wash out though. Be sure to use a fine dust or HEPA filter in the vac when cleaning up very fine dust.

Needs adaptor for Ridgid Vac
Bought this for my Ridgid Vac and it needs an Adaptor to fit onto the vacuum. RIDGID sells the same item at Home Depot but includes the needed adaptor. I was not able to find the adaptor separately so this item was worthless to me.
