Revised My One Star Review
I'm revising my review. I had given it a one start, but after my experience with the company and using it to prepare all the food for my wedding, they earned and deserve better. I'd had my PC a little over a month and I was loving it. Then some part fell off. I was steamed, no pun intended. I sent an email to the company. They responded the next day. I emailed them a photo of the missing part, The next day they mailed out a replacement part. GREAT SERVICE. I cooked all the food for my wedding coming up on Independence Day. I made 4 gallons of Spanish Rice and I've cooked about 9 gallons of marinaded chicken, approximately 60 breasts. It was a real work horse. The food came out PERFECT. So if you're looking for a great PC that's less expensive, I won't hesitate to recommend this one. The only thing I wish is that they had a better instruction manual. But there's so much info on the Net, that it wasn't too hard to figure out.

We're having so much fun.
After buying this I went ahead and bought the cookbook for it for $.99. We started off with the water test. Perfect. Next we had a 3+ pound with pot roast, potatoes and carrots following the general directions from the cook book. I should add we are reducing our salt, but this roast, potatoes and carrots were so flavorful we didn't miss the salt. The roast was perfectly cooked it fell apart as we tried to cut it and the potatoes and carrots had a roast beef flavor and were perfectly cooked. After that we tried chicken noodle soup that tasted better than the soups I used to make simmering in a crock pot or on the stove for hours. Again the flavor was infused throughout the carrots, noodles, broth and chicken. Finally tonight my son and I made chicken Alfredo that is just fabulous! That recipe I found on pintrest. :) We are all very pleased with this electric pressure cooker too. Week one of using this thing makes me think I'd better be careful or I might get fat :). I should mention i'm new to pressure cooking of any kind, but there's plenty of articles and videos out there to help.

An excellent purchase, Makes excellent fall off the bone ribs.
This works with attention to detail. Once in program mode, you can't change anything. Five seconds passes quickly! Once you figure that out , it works great. Make sure to be familiar with button location on the front before trying to set it up. good Luck

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BUY THIS.
I bought this after researching a number of pressure cookers. It's. Amazing. But, read all the directions first. I've read that the main issue with pressure cookers is that they don't work properly, but that comes from not following the directions to the letter. If you do that, this will change your life. Five stars, you guys! 👍

Why didn't I buy this sooner?
I just couldn't get myself to buy an expensive instant pot even though my best friend kept raving about hers and making me super jealous! She found this cheaper alternative that has pretty much all the same options and sent it to me. For the price, I figured what the heck. I almost exclusively cook with this pressure cooker and the food comes out amazing. It took some trial and error to figure out how to use it properly but now that I get it, I love it. It saves me so much time and aggravation. I can cook large quantities of food for the week or a large meal for everyone and all the instant pot recipes online pretty much translate perfectly to this pot, I'm not even sure what the difference is! After using this for so long I don't even understand all the hype over the instant pot name brand or the justification for paying double or more for pretty much the same thing. A great investment for sure!

I also thought that being electric it was probably another "useless gadget" like the Crock-Pot but for 4 times the price
I moved to the USA more than a decade ago with my stove top pressure cooker inside my suitcase, so no need to say that I am not a new fan of them. When all the fuss about the Instant Pot exploded, I just shrugged to my self and thought: where are the big news? I also thought that being electric it was probably another "useless gadget" like the Crock-Pot but for 4 times the price. But eventually it got my attention because of the fact that it regulated its own temperature, had several safety features and you could delay the cooking time and come home to a warm meal. All the advantages of the Crock-Pot and pressure cooker and none of the downfalls. But the price of the Instant Pot was to high for something I wasn't sure I was going to like, so I kept looking and eventually I found the Tayama pressure cooker at a discounted price and an additional coupon ($39) and I took the plunge. I LOVE IT!! Pros: 1. All the same features that the Instant Pot Duo. You might not have a button for what you want, but the manual setting will allow you to do anything you want. 2. Half or less the price than other brands. 3. Delayed cooking. 4. Plenty of safety features. 5. Very quiet 6. Unbeatable customer service. I trashed by mistake the inner steamer and measure cup and contacted customer service to explain what happened and ask them where could I buy the parts. A few days later I had the steamer tray, measure cup, spatula and an extra seal ring totally for free. 7. Easy to use with the manual. Cons: 1. No hook on the pot to hang the lid from. I don't mind putting it in the counter, but this might be an issue for someone... 2. According to my friend, who owns a Instant Pot and loves it, this one takes a few extra minutes to reach pressure. I have used this pressure cooker every week several times and used recipes for Instant Pot and other electric pressure cookers and everything came out delicious. 95% of the time I use the manual setting because I find it easier.

but the Tayama cooker is amazing. The only thing I can say that is ...
This is a game changer!! I don't know much about pressure cookers, aside from what I know now from using this cooker, but the Tayama cooker is amazing. The only thing I can say that is negative is that it has a non-stick bowl and was advertised as having a metal bowl (not mentioning it being non-stick on this model) and it is metal except for the non-stick coating. The controls are a little difficult at first, as well as figuring out the cooking times, and whether to let it depressurize on it's own or to manually do it. We are looking up online to see what others recommend, so that has helped. Without the internet I think there would be a greater learning curve, but overall a good price for a great product (so far).

love it!
So far so good! I love this thing! Easy to clean, easy to use buttons, comes with instructions and recipe ideas. No complaints! So far we've made whole chickens, chicken stock, rice, ribs... Everything comes out perfect!

amazing flavor!
Just got mine and used it last night for the first time!! Did a dry rub on some pork ribs, used the manual setting to brown them. After they were browned, I poured a little beer in the pot and placed the rack that came with it in the pot...piled the ribs on top of the rack, set it to the "meat" selection and it cooked for 40 mins. The ribs were so tender....amazing flavor!! I love this product!!

Great, affordable alternative multi function cooker
So when my slow cooker went I thought I'd look into the Instant Pot I heard everyone talk about. Then I saw the price tag. This one was half the cost so thought I'd give it a shot. So far, so good. It does so many things...slow cooking and pressure cooking including buttons for things like beans, rice etc. I've made soups, cauliflower roasts, beans and more. Wow does it cut time. I've never used a pressure cooker before this and am impressed. The company has great customer service. I had a problem with the inner pot and in under a week, they sent me off a replacement. It was the fastest replacement I've ever got for anything. The pot comes apart easily for cleaning. The only downside is that I am still trying to figure out how to adjust the cook time sometimes. It often goes up, but not down manually. I think the more I use it, I hope to figure it out. I would definitely look into this as a more affordable multi function cooker.
