best sports drink mix for no sugar diets. But its expensive

So I can't drink sugary sports drinks because of pre-diabetes. But I sweat alot during sports and exercise. This is made with Stevia vs. the cheaper possibly carcinogenic artificial sweeteners in the name brand sugar free sports drinks. There really isn't a competitor to Ultima out there. However it comes at a premium compared to a name brand sports drink that you can buy cheaply in supermarkets and warehouse stores. If it was cheaper i think it would be perfect. I've had both lemonade and cherry pomengranate. Lemonade is much better because its less artificially sweet tasting. But both are ok. Would drink it more often and encourage it more because I think the product is great, but costs need to come down. It's still a premium health foods store type of product.

Grown-Up Cool-Aid!!!!!

Think back to the days of yesteryear where summers were hot and mom would make "fruit-flavored sugar based" soft drinks. Mmmmmm is the memory. Fast forward to today and we are all grown up, but still long for that cool non-cola drink. Well, here it is, Ultima Hydrating Electrolyte Power. It's wonderfully flavorful without all that sugar, and with the addition of electrolytes, is actually good for me. I discovered it while fasting. After drinking gallons of plain water, this product became a satisfying alternative. I've continued using it in the office. It encourages me to drink more water (and less diet soda) and is relatively cheap to use. Try it, you'll love it!!!!

I’ve read the reviews I’ve compared this product with others on amazon, onnit, bodybuilding.com, this by far is the best deal on the market for the price and servings, people talking about the formula and flavor, well I’m here to tell you now, that the lemonade flavor is awesome!!! It mixes fine to me in a bottle, I did try stirring it, didn’t mix well, need to shake it... I have found my go to drink.. I love the taste... the name says it all!!!

Lemon is the best flavor

I am on the Keto diet, so I live on this stuff! I don't drink any free water, and drink either Ultima or doTERRA lemon essential oil with my water. I have tried grape, lemonade, and cherry pomegranate, and lemonade is hands down the best. The other flavors have a bit of a chemical aftertaste, and this one tastes the most natural to me. Helps keep my electrolytes balanced on this sodium and potassium wasting diet. Very popular brand in the Keto community! Keep an eye out for pricing, since its the most popular the price can temporarily be driven up. So be patient and wait for a low/mid $30s price on the large canister.

I love this. I recently started doing keto, so I wanted to find an electrolyte hydrator that was also sugar-free. I was a bit skeptical when it arrived in the mail due to how small in size it was, but the portion sizes are very small and a little goes a LONG way. If you don’t add enough water than it is overwhelmingly sweet. It tastes like real lemonade and I still can’t believe that it doesn’t have sugar. I’ve been feeling quite sluggish and fatigue lately, and this really does the trick. 5 stars!

Works well for me

I sweat a lot, always have and always will. Its enough to where people will point it out. Been doing a low carb diet and losing a lot of weight+water. So I have been drinking this powder with a bit of pink salt added to it to replenish my electrolytes and find that it works fairly quickly. I drink it mostly after getting home from the gym. On some ocassions I start to get a bit of a headache and feel my lips dry and I take this with a bit of salt and within 20 minutes headache goes away. I haven't had any cramping either. Before I started taking this powder I would feel like I could get a cramp on either of my hamstrings at night while I was getting in or out of bed, something about those movements would cause my hamstrings to tense up. Also, the salt helps with the taste, not the best tasting on its own, but I didn't buy it to drink it for taste.

It's quite sweet, so I love pairing it with some iced black or green tea for a refreshing no calorie Arnold Palmer. I dissolve one scoop in a 32oz mason jar - 2 parts water, 1 part brewed tea, then lots of ice. Obviously this has a diuretic effect, so most of the time I drink it as is plus some extra fresh lemon. It's been lifesaving out in Palm Springs CA heat. The added minerals and magnesium really help my energy levels.

Doing the job for less than 1/2 the price!

My cardiologist suggested Ultima to me to replace electrolytes that were being eliminated by my drinking more water daily than he thought I should be drinking, I also swim 4 X a week & lose electrolytes from that. He strongly suggested Ultima over Gatorade which he felt had way too much sugar. When I mentioned to my son that I was using Ultima he said their whole family was using it including their 2 boys, our grandsons, as their sports drink to add lost electrolytes. The 90 serving container thru Amazon is much less than 1/2 the price/serving than I paid for the 20 serving package I purchased originally. It’s a good value & is doing its job of adding needed electrolytes for me. I recommend it. Bob in San Diego

Ultima is ultimate!

I cannot say enough positive things about Ultima. I was introduced to this liquid gold while training for my first marathon. I'm honestly not sure I would have made it through my training (or to the finish line on race day) without this stuff. These days I use it to get through my Peloton cycling workouts, and it's just as delicious and nutritious as I remember. The Grape and the Lemonade flavors are my favorite. I don't love the Raspberry flavor, but that's just my personal preference. I plan on trying the other available flavors soon - though to be honest I keep putting that off because I love the Grape and Lemonade so much! If you are in-training for a distance race, looking for something to keep you hydrated and electrolyzed while working out, or just want a special treat for your water - Ultima will surely do the trick. Better than conventional electrolyte replacements.

I bought the cherry pomegranate flavor and it tastes good, but a little sweet for my palate so I add it to my smoothies. I am going to try the lemon flavor to see if it is less sweet. I must add that I have not had sugar of any kind for about seven months so my taste buds can really taste it now. All in all much better than the usual Gatorade type electrolyte drinks without all of the junk ingredients.
