Vremi Cast iron grill pan

Vremi is an amazing company. They make the best products ever. I own several, but I've never used a grill pan before getting this one. The pan itself is very well constructed and heavy duty. This pan is the first time I've had clear instructions on exactly how to season a cast iron product. I would definitely recommend seasoning it even though it says it's "pre-seasoned". It will make your life a lot easier to just pre season it again to be sure. I know some are pretty biased against any cast iron that isn't a certain brand, but this is a great pan at a great price, and by a great company. It works amazing at cooking, or searing almost any meat and vegetables. I love the square shape. It easily fits four burgers flat so they aren't wedged up on the sides or getting smashed together. The skillet also comes with a red silicone handle sleeve so it is easier to pick up while hot. I would definitely recommend this for purchase. It has by far exceeded my expectations. Way to go Vremi. Another great product from your company. Amazing.

I really like that this item is pre-seasoned

I really like that this item is pre-seasoned. A quick rinse under water and straight to the fire. The packaging is AMAZING as always, and would make for a great gift. I really like that there is a sticker which indicates open box once the product is opened. The pan itself comes with a heat resistant handle, great for first timers that often forget that the handle is hot! The size of the pan is on the smaller side for a whole family, as it may be able to cook one steak at a time. I use this also for vegetables, in addition to proteins. Easy to clean, maintain and use! Great product.

two nice size ones fit well in the pan

The pan is very heavy duty. The first thing I cooked were T-Bones, two nice size ones fit well in the pan. The preseasoning worked great, there was no sticking of the meat to the pan and cleanup was easy. I can tell that this will be my go to pan for meats that benefit from grill marks.

Why didn't I own one of these sooner?!!

My parents always used cast iron cookware when I was growing up. I have never owned a piece myself until this gem. I love it! I like and have used this cast iron grill pan so much since May 24, 2017, that I just ordered 3 more for Christmas gifts!!!!

OMG !!!! What a wonderful pan !!!! I am overjoyed and more than simply "satisfied" with the pan. I had been using a small, individual nonstick coated grill pan and wanted something large enough to grill 4 burgers, pork chops, steak, etc. I have been using cast iron skillets, all handed down from family members, so am used to cast iron cooking. This pan exceeded my expiations as it came pre seasoned to the point of being "non stick" (burnt cheese peels right off) . I have had it since May 24, 2017 and have used it nearly every day sense (10 days)..From grilled cheese to brats to pork chops to chicken breasts to ribeye steak (hamburgers are next on my list) I was able to get the desired doneness, with the fantastic "grill marks", juicy, tender, not tough. And being non stick, clean up is a breeze! The pan came with a silicone handle cover (priced $4.99 if purchased separately) : which is great as handle gets very hot. Has a small "lip" for extra handling of heavy pan, especially for oven usage, and pour spouts on the sides. Terrific value, too at Amazon Am considering ordering more for gifts.

Awesome cast iron grill pan

I love this cast iron grill pan!! Vremi products are durable and affordable, this one is no different!! I love all of the cute things they write on the boxes as well, make sure you read them. :) It says it's pre-seasoned and I think it is, but I feel like it is not seasoned enough. Food still sticks to begin with and could use a seasoning before cooking on it. I used a food scraper to get the stuck food off, so it was still an easy clean up! I love cooking Ahi Tuna, but the best way to cook it indoors is in oil. Since this pan has the ridges, the tuna doesn't sit in the oil the whole time it is cooking and it turned out amazing!! So less calories, but still tasted great!

Great Grill Pan!

In the week that I’ve owned the pan, it appears to be great. It was shipped in a sleek, modern box (within the Amazon box) and was covered in bubble wrap. I only mention the packaging because I recently ordered Lodge brand from another store, and it was simply the pan thrown into the store’s box and shipped. Claims that the pan is pre-seasoned… eh. I’d say it’s on par with any other “pre-seasoned” cast iron. If you’re not already familiar with cast iron, you really have to do your own pre-seasoning with something like olive oil, then the more you cook, the more seasoning and “non-stick” you get. The pan has a nice weight to it and the silicone handle grip is a nice addition. I pre-seasoned the pan with some olive oil on the night I got it. Cooking with it the first time was simply to brown some ground beef for tacos – not because it needed to be done in a grill pan, but just because the pan needed all the seasoning and grease it could get. As I was cooking, we could definitely tell where the olive oil pre-seasoning was missed in a few spots along the sides of the pan because the ground beef stuck to the pan in those spots. Not a big deal, but again, if you’re not used to cooking with cast iron, that’s why it’s important to pre-season, regardless of the brand’s claim to be “pre-seasoned” straight out of the box. The next night, I cooked some chicken breasts on it, and they came out great. I will admit, I did not have high hopes for the silicone handle grip, simply because of how hot I knew the handle would get. However, I found myself pleasantly surprised. During the pre-seasoning phase when the burner was up pretty high for about 5 minutes, the pan was at 384F, while the silicone handle was only 89F. After about 20 minutes, with ground beef cooked in the pan and the burner turned down to a lower setting, the pan was 300F, and the handle was 127F, which sounds hot, but was still very manageable without using any other protection. Overall, I really have no complaints at this point and it appears to be a very sturdy pan. I’ve been very pleased with this grill pan and am looking forward to keeping it with my collection of cast iron. Update: It's been almost 2 months and we use this pan 2-4 times a week. It's seasoned much better now and works great with nothing sticking to it. It leaves beautiful grill lines on our grilled sandwiches, and I'm still very satisfied with this purchase!

First cast iron pan and I love it.

Ok, finally cooked my first steak with this. I first seasoned this with flaxseed oil 3 times. I'm a newcomer to cast iron so I read and watch vids on how to maintain cast iron cookware. Anyway, my first steak was awesome. It seared the heck out of it and cooked so fast while maintaining it's heat. After dinner, I followed the steps on how to clean it and it was easy. Nothing stuck even though my steak with grilled onions was all over the grill. Cleaned off, dried it at 200 degrees, and reasoned it. I'm hooked and will be buying other cast iron cookware from now on.

As good as cast iron cooking products get

Delivery was fast and annoyance free. Pan is very heavy and seemingly very durable as well. If someone dropped this pan on a tile floor I would bet that the tiles would crack or chip long before this pan. Untested seasoning out of the box. I seasoned it 3 cycles before using it and therefore food slid off the plate with only minimal encouragement. Handle guard is a great idea but somewhat loose for my liking but this was an unavoidable consequence of being able to put it on and take it off of the handle. Because safety when cooking anything is a very high priority for me (I know from experience that burns are excruciatingly painful), and in an excess of caution, I use heat-resistant gloves or potholders to be assured of a firm grip. But even though I'll never use the handle guard again for the reasons just given, the product is a very good value. I'd buy again in a heartbeat.

Vremi Cast Iron Grill Pan

This is a heavy duty great quality cast iron grill pan. It is a good size and weight. I pre-seasoned it with oil and baked it for an hour as instructed. I have used it to cook meats and veggies and it's worked great so far. I know it will only get more "seasoned" the more I use it. The silicone handle cover is great as my other cast iron pans don't have this. This is definitely a great product and would make an awesome gift!
