Good rice and chicken in a can!
Mountain house speaks for itself, I say that every time I review their products, because it's beyond true. While this flavor is not my favorite meal from their lineup, I scoff at the idea of finder better tasting rice & chicken that you can buy in a can. And when the apocalypse happens you're probably going to eat this no matter how it tastes, let's just throw that out there. If you're buying this for hiking or taking into the woods for a camping trip you're probably better suited for the single pouches that you can eat out of, and cram into the tight spaces of a hiking bag. In the end I give this 10/10, would bang.

Acceptable taste, great convenience, adequate value
Great additions to your emergency food supplies. Too expensive to use exclusively in that role, of course, but for a few meals a week, interspersed with more traditional fare, or for quick meals while traveling or hiking, these are the way to go. The taste isn't great, but it's perfectly acceptable. One drawback: the portion sizes quoted are FAR too small. They range from 2 to 2½ servings per packet, but I find it more practical to 'budget' for one packet per person per meal. If you're working hard physically, you might want to extend that to 2 packets per person per meal. Even so, they remain very useful, and I'll always have a few dozen packets on hand.

They pack light and small, and taste delicious
I was super skeptical about these freeze dried meals, but everyone raves about Mountain House and I thought I would give it a try on a backpacking trip. Boy was I surprised at how good these were. They actually taste like a decent meal when you're off the grid. When you're backpacking, this is as good as it gets to a hot gourmet meal. I loved how EASY it was to make -- just add hot water. They pack light and small, and taste delicious

Good value and easily seasoned
This is one of the Mountain House #10 cans that you can usually find at half the price of their tradition freeze dried meals. The main issue I think some people have with this is that it's not seasoned and marketed to be a complete meal like you would find in their other cans. I think that's one of the strengths of this as you are free to tweak the flavor however you might like. If I had any complaint it would be that I wish there was more chicken in this. I'm very happy with my purchase and plan on purchasing more.

Perfect
Have not tasted yet but delivery was quick. It has clear instructions on total ml needed and single serving sizes with no needed. My cans expire 1/2047. Perfect!

Perfect for 72 hour kit for large family
I purchased this for our 72 hour prep kit. The can is sturdy and should keep rodents out. Mountain house says their products in can are good for at least 15 years, which means I don't have to rotate often! Everything I've eaten from them tastes good. It can be reconstituted with cold water if necessary. I taped a mini-can opener to the top of the can under the INCLUDED plastic lid, so I'll be able to open this anywhere. I love that the lid was included. I also like that we can portion out however much we want depending on how many people are with us and store the rest for the next meal. The can is reusable as well for carrying water or waste products or whatever. All-in-all this seemed like a great purchase for preppers. I hope I never have to use it that way and that I end up eating it around a camp fire. But, I feel confident that this will do the trick if needed.

Favorite camping meal
Love this meal. It’s not got a lot going on the inside which in my opinion is a plus for an add water meal. Too many dehydrated meals try to punch up the flavor with a lot of spices or salt. This meal keeps it simple. There’s chicken, rice and a few vegetables. It also works well as a mix with other foods or a side. Hands down my favorite meal to have in the woods with me. Fills you up, simple flavor profile and can be eaten alone or with other ingredients, what more could you ask.

Perfect!
I think that Mountain House is one of the best tasting freeze dried food we've tried. I purchased this in a smaller size at a local store to try it before we bought the #10 can from Amazon. The general taste is one of the best we've tried and I only needed to add a little seasoning salt for our personal preference. We purchased this to keep in our emergency preparedness kit and the expiration date is all the way to 2041. We will continue to add to our emergency food supply with Mountain House!

Useful and (relatively) inexpensive, stand alone or as an amendment
The salt content is quite high but that should be expected to help long term storage. You can't beat the quality of Mountain House products, unlike the questionable manufacturing processes used for other canned freeze dried food. In my opinion you can trust the length of storage time for Mountain House products. Freeze dried food is always expensive because the process used to make it is costly. Mostly rice so I recommend that you either get some of their freeze dried chicken chunks to bulk it up or use it as a amendment to other meals. Personally I find it acceptable by itself but that is my opinion. I never rate a product as 5 stars unless it is superb.

It was really good. I only bought this to try out what it tastes like since I have quite a few of the 10 cans. I ate it for dinner one night and the only modification I would suggest is add a lot more water they suggest. Since I was at home I measured and timed it exactly to the directions and I found it dry and a little chewy. I added about 50% more water. Let it sit for a couple more minutes and it was great. While camping you're far more likely to just wing it which means you'll do what I suggested naturally but in a controlled condition I discovered it needed more water. Enjoy camping or surviving the zombie apocalypse!
