I really like that all these characters and pieces are interchangeable

We received a number of these tegu wooden block characters. I suggest buying more than one so that your child (or you) can become more creative and design their own characters. I really like that all these characters and pieces are interchangeable. These magnetic blocks are great for boys and girls. I would say your child should be around 2 &1/2 at the earliest to play with these because some of the wooden pieces around the legs are small and could be a choking hazard. The magnets are very strong and the wood is smooth so there won't be any splinters or wood splitting. The only negative I can think of is that these are not cheap (but the quality is really good). Really fun toy for children with creative minds that like to build things.

This is a wonderful toy! Our toddler loves playing with the magnetic blocks and experimenting with them. At one she is a little young to create the monsters, but loves the designs on the blocks and the "hair". She walks around the house with the blocks and we found we can even play with them on the fridge. Adults enjoy them as much as she does - one of our favorite toys!

Fun addition to any Tegu collection!

Our family loves Tegu blocks and these add some new and unique pieces to our set. The hair is a fun felt and the arms/legs are great parts for these characters. All the parts have made their way into other builds as faces or columns or whatever the imagination of a could of 3-8yr old boys can think of! Its pricey for the number of blocks you get, but the blocks you get are high quality and a fun addition to any collection.

I like that they've expanded out to some different sets

Been a fan of Tegu from almost the start, having bought a small travel pack for our kids to use in the car and when we were out and about. I like that they've expanded out to some different sets, specifically these character ones provide some unique blocks as well as some printed blocks. We have all of the figures (Zip Zap, Marbles, Pip, Beans & TumTum, and Finklebear) and it is a lot of fun to interchange them with other figures and other tegu blocks as well (my 4 year old son built endless variations of creatures and people from these blocks).

Wonderful as a stand alone toy or in addition to the Classroom Set

Tegu is a wonderful toy company that manufactures their products in Honduras using sustainable practices. Sure this is on the pricey side for a set of blocks, but fair manufacturing simply costs more. You are paying for fair labor, sustainable environmental practices, and safety regulated materials. As consumers, every dollar spent is a vote and these are all things that I can get behind! I don't buy toys for my children that are plastic and/or made in China and have come to accept the higher price tag that comes with this choice. This set of magnetic blocks is wonderful for fostering open-ended play, which is so important for young children. This BEANS & TUMTUM set, unlike the other Sticky Monsters sets, includes two "monsters" which allows for more configurations.The faces are a great addition to the Tegu brand so that children are able to truly create anything they desire. My only wish is that there could be a different face on each side of the blocks (there is only one painted face on each of the two blocks and the other side of those blocks are blank) in order to allow even more play possibilities. Kids can start using this set as soon as they can grasp the blocks, since there are no small parts. The blocks in this Sticky Monster's set are sturdy and vibrantly colored. I would say the colors are true to the description, fun, and engaging. This BEANS & TUMTUM set is great as a stand alone toy or as an expansion to the classroom set from Tegu. My 4-year-old son and one-year-old daughter play with this Sticky Monsters set, and other small Tegu sets, in conjunction with the Classroom set daily. The classroom set is large and has an array of blocks that allows for your child to build anything they can imagine.

We love the newest addition to the Tegu line of magnetic wooden blocks! Add some imagination and your new friend takes on their own personality. The wooden blocks are smooth wooden and high quality. The kids love building with them or just manipulating them. I often say, Tegu helps gets the "Fidgets out"! They love the feel of the magnetic force. I am all for sensory play that enhance fine motor skills. I have attached pictures for your review. The price point is high, but I am watching children engaged and playing with these so they are well worth it! Oh and yes, they do stick to the refrigerator as well! I just want to add in here that the monster heads themselves do not stick well to the refrigerator without supporting blocks underneath. They are too heavy for their magnets alone. I have added a picture below to show you!

Love anything tegu. These blocks are the best. I love the colors in this monster set. It was a great present for two little boys.
