This thing is awesome!!! The hot dogs snap perfectly. Others are correct when saying the buns will get wet in top steamer - even when putting in a paper towel and waiting for the last few minutes. We probably will not put bread in it again. This steamer is capable of so much more than making hot dogs though. The top basket made perfect broccoli in the the top basket while sausage cooked in bottom drawer. I have steamed whole eggs twice in the top basket this week that turned out way better than any I have ever boiled. Can't wait to cook many more things on this!

Great item, works as advertised!

Very good product. I run a Cigar Lounge on weekends and purchased this to give hot dogs to customers for football games. Steams them up in about 15 minutes and does a great job. Been using it every weekend for the whole season and no problems whatsoever. Highly recommend.

This is the best steamer/cooker ever!! It definitely steams the hot dogs in 12 minutes! The kids were coming back for more! I'd recommend this streamer to be used at sleepovers, lock ins or anytime! You will be glad you did!

LOVE IT!

This little hot dog steamer is AWESOME! We bought it for my sons 1st birthday party (baseball themed) and everyone kept asking how I cooked the hot dogs bc they tasted like they do at the games or fairgrounds. The downside is the bun steamer, don’t leave them in more than a minister or so otherwise they’ll get soggy; other than that I would highly recommend this awesome hot dog steamer. Easiest way to make a lot of hot dogs for your guests without standing over an oven/stove top/or grill.

A blast form the past, remembering days gone by.

We used this for the first time Yesterday and it worked perfectly, as stated by another reviewer you defiantly do NOT want to put the buns in at the same time as the dogs. I did the Dogs for Twenty minutes and I put the buns in for only 5 minutes and they both came out perfectly warmed up. A great little machine that we are already planning on using for more than just Hot dogs. A big hit with the entire family. If you can get yourself one than do it, you won't be disappointed. I don't about what happened with others getting dirty machines the only thing I can think of is they bought them used, ours was brand new and so far so good. We will see over time how this does but for now we are good to go. Have fun.

Hot Dog Steamer

When I was looking to buy a hot dog steamer, I looked at several of them, read reviews, and looked at price. I decided on this one and have been very happy with the purchase. I purchased this to make hot dogs for the kids at my daughter's birthday party. We went through 80 hot dogs that day. They cooked up super fast (even though they were frozen when I put them in the steamer!), and the buns did not get soggy as I saw in a lot of comments on other steamers. The buns came out nice and soft. You can even put buns in that are not quite as fresh as you would prefer and they get nice and soft and steamy, you would never know they were not fresh baked! The kids loved the hot dogs. It was a great addition to the pool party. Even the adults loved the hot dogs steamed. We have since used it at home just for the family. The hot dogs taste way better steamed than put in a pot of boiling water. I don't think we can ever have another party without using the hot dog steamer. The kids might riot! They really enjoyed them that much. I always had a ready supply wrapped in aluminum foil so that they could just grab one whenever they wanted a hot dog. Swimming makes a kid hungry, so they enjoyed being able to grab a nice steamed hot dog whenever they wanted.

versatile

I got this because my cousin has one & we busted it out for 2am dogs after a pub crawl. First off, we used beer for the liquid & we put the buns in about 1/2 the time of the dogs. Watch the condensation on the lid when you take it off so you don't dump the water on the buns. I steamed my dogs & put them up top to melt cheese... I made an Italian dog... spaghetti sauce & Italian cheese, my version of Chicago; salami, dill relish, mustard, onions & cheese & a more plain dog with cheese, mustard & onion... anyway, the thing is super fun!!!

This is my review of Nostalgia hds248coke Coca-Cola Hot Dog Steamer today I have tested my acquisition, I am really happy with it, starting with the packaging, a very striking box and collector's personalization, the machine comes well protected and ordered, disarmed and then tested, this time prepare 16 sausages which size is small and fit perfectly with the perception that they can fit more than 24, which indicates the instructional, the bread is of regular size but they did not fit 12 but 8 so I have no problem, once the water container is filled I included a little spice in it and I perfectly flavored the sausage, then I armed my machine and put it in the strongest temperature and Nostalgia promises in 20 minutes they were ready and the bread very fluffy, all with a lot of steam, then I put the sleep mode and kept me warm for quite a while all the products without damaging their quality. I highly recommend this device, it works excellent and I already understand your demand to buy it, for its price it is worth it and has a presence that makes you want only to collect it and not to use it. I am a satisfied customer. I hope you serve my review, I leave photos of what I describe in it.

Works great, cleanup a breeze

Works great, cleanup a breeze, and operates as described. Hotdogs took between 15-20 minutes, but I only put 5 in it to test. Tip: put the buns in for only a minute or two; they steam very quickly! And now a word of caution: This unit is very cute and attractive to kids. I had to keep my grandkids back on several occasions because it looked like something you'd see in a play kitchen! The steam is for real and can burn an unexpected little one if in reach. I am using this for pool gatherings where people can get a hotdog whenever they want without firing up the big grill and having to rewarm or cook more throughout the day! Very convenient!

Made perfectly

Used this today and used it with sausage. This made the sausage just crispy enough to bite into it with no problems and my sausage still held its flavor. The buns were perfect too. Only took 20 min to steam 9 bun length sausage and 10 buns. Highly recommend
