Excellent for on the go families!

I purchased one of these super handy trash bins for my car a few weeks ago. We're a busy family with two kids and lots of snacking goes on in the car to and from school and activities etc. So nice to have a proper place to toss trash. I hang mine on the back of my passenger seat with the adjustable strap that comes on the bin. I liked mine so much, I ordered one for my husband. He used the velcro that comes with the bin to attach his bun to the center floorboard below his truck dash. He rolled his eyes a little when I told him I ordered him a "truck trash can" ;) but he actually really loved it once he started using it! I really like that Drive includes the bags, but the bin is also a perfect fit for plastic grocery store bags, so you can use those too if you happen to run out. The bin is wipable so if you spring a leak, no need to worry! These bins are great quality and I'm sure they will last quite a long while.

I purchased the Drive Bin XL for our van because our kids were always trashing it, and just having a plastic bag hanging on the back of the seat wasn't cutting it. Since having this, my kids are actually throwing their stuff away, and it has been so convenient for keeping the van clean! I also love that it actually comes with the trash bags!! It's very stylish looking, sturdy, and I love that it can turn into a cooler when you need it to! Would definitely purchase this item again.

Simple yet effective.

This product actually works better than anticipated. After getting caught twice in the same week unexpectedly having to give someone a ride somewhere before I had a chance to empty my car, was enough for me to try something new. Plastic grocery bags work ok (as long as you remember to put them in your vehicle beforehand and as long as both hands are available). The DRIVE Bin works out very well for me. I like how the lid stays open by itself until you choose to close it. You can keep one hand on the steering wheel at all times instead of using one hand to hold the grocery bag open while the other puts the trash in the bag. Again, this seems like a very simple idea. But the way that it is implemented here is great!

WONDERFUL Auto- Trash solution!

I looked at a ridiculous number of car trash options, I have tried a variety over the years. Most are either too small, too awkward, or are themselves garbage. Here was my criteria: I wanted something with a decent capacity, but also did not take up too much space. that I could place somewhere I could actually use. I also liked that you could use grocery bags in this, to keep it clean..and make removing trash easier. I use the strap around my shifter - to just keep it from wandering round, but overall it stays still nicely. It sits on the front passenger floor.. but still does not affect a passenger sitting there. Very nice customer service too, they really want happy customers. Definitely recommend. This is the nicest auto-trash option I have seen.

Excellent quality, generous size, very useful!

I’m actually using this in our home as a small portable wastebasket. It’s perfect for going around the house & collecting all the little pieces of litter left by hubby or myself. Most often, I just dump the contents into the main trash once I’m done. However, being able to insert a plastic grocery bag for a perfect fitting alternative trash bag is a plus. This way, if dealing with something particularly messy & I can easily discard everything at once & quickly replace it with a fresh, clean bag. I did reinforce the sides with sections of cardboard, so it stays fully open for me while collecting bits of litter. However, since I’m using this rather unconventionally & not in the manner for which it was intended, this may not be necessary for someone purchasing it for their vehicle. The material & build quality is excellent & the generous size keeps emptying at a minimum. The lid is a plus for keeping contents out of view & I love the netted side pockets. They’re very useful for storing extra bags & anything else you can think of. Overall, I’d highly recommend this to anyone interested in a receptical for their vehicle or general use around the house.

awesome bin

This is awesome! I loop it aroubd the center console if my Corolla and keep the bin over the center hump in the back. The access is easy and it is big enough for my 2 kids in the back. My 9yo & 12yo will actually use this product and my back row is finally free of wrappers and whatnots!! If we have another kid in the middle, it's still easy enough to sit with legs on either side. I was afraid it might be too big, but it's perfect for us because a discarded cup/can won't immediately render it unusable. It is also super convenient to use grocery store plastic bags.

The best Car Trash Can ever found

After 4-5 years of searching for a good, easy to clean, no rolling all over the car trash can, I finally found The Drive bin XL - the best solution to collect trash in the car. It's a miracle! No kidding! I can't believe I missed this bin for so long and I am ready to buy it for all of our cars. It fits perfect in a SUV, between chairs, on the Minivan floor and even in a 4 doors Sedan. It is spacious, can work with any plastic grocery bag, has a cover and stays in place, without moving an inch during a bumpy driving. The Drive Auto Products company sent it well packed and in the promised timeframe - 2 days. Update 1/5/2016 I've waited too much and missed the opportunity to buy more bins. Please bring back this awesome product!

An item thought out for its user.

Granted, its just a trash bin. But unlike other brands and types around, i like how it was thought out for the consumers. Extra velcro to secure the bottom of the bin, magnet top to cover up when needed, useful pockets... and the CLIPS. It really makes a huge difference when securing the plastic bags in place, and is very easy to attach/remove the bags. The XL is quite big, but is a great size for large cars like our Mazda cx-9.

Very Nice In-Car Trash Can

Previously I had an in-car trash bag that attached to the back of one of the seats. It worked fine, but was forever in the way and it had limited capacity. It was also kind of a pain to empty. Not so with this puppy! The DRIVE Bin XL is quite large, well built, and very easy to clean. For a trash can, I'm pretty pleased with this purchase. It is nice to be able to use plastic bags as the liner (just common grocery plastic bags, so it isn't like you'll have to pay for expensive refills). The lid is easy to use with a very large opening. You won't be fiddling around trying to put anything in, that is for sure. The one caveat I would note to prospective buyers is that it is BIG. It works well in my Honda Odyssey, but I'd probably not recommend it for a common passenger car (except for maybe in the back with the kids ... if you have any. Otherwise highly recommended.

Perfect solution!

I love this product! I used to just use a plastic bag hanging on my gearshift but it was almost impossible to put anything in it while driving, since it would just fall closed. This stays open and it's easy to drop something in without looking down. Because of my work schedule, I eat a meal in my car 3 times every week, so this is well-tested. I hook the strap around the gear shift so it holds the bin snugly against the "hump" in the middle of my car, and I like that the plastic bag is held in place by the hooks to keep the bin clean. Just what I needed.
