Settled on this one after looking at a lot of the other options. It's relatively cheap and heats water relatively quickly with US voltages. Power: * Looks like it's very similar to the Severin WK 3644 Kettle, only that it has a US grounded plug and no adapter. * For use in Europe and elsewhere, I suggest the grounded adapter made by Skross, but there are other perfectly suitable adapters. You'll want one that can handle the power draw and ideally, is grounded. Time to Boil: I heated water from about room temperature (65°F/18°C) to boiling (212°F/100°C) using 120V RMS, validated that the switch was set to the 110/120V setting, and measured the time from when I clicked the switch and it automatically turned off. I got the following results: * 0.5L took 5m 12s * 0.3L took 3m 38s * 0.2L took 2m 34s Efficiency: * It drew up to about 650W and took 0.05 kWh / 50 Wh to boil 0.5L of water. * Given that it ideally takes about 171 kJ to boil water from 18°C and this one took 180 kJ, it's about 95% efficient, which is pretty good. Weight: * It weighs about 1lbs 2oz or 505g without plastic accessories Misc: * Validated that 212°F is reached at time of automatic off with an infrared thermometer * No plastic taste in the water If I was to nitpick, it would be that the plastic isn't perfectly finished and there isn't a way to hold open the top part when you're putting in water. That said, it perfectly fits my use case of traveling around with it, so I'm happy.

i have tried numerous electric kettles over the past 15 yrs, searching for something all glass with no plastic touching the water and no toxic smell/taste. this is the only one i have every found and i've tried a lot of other glass kettles as well. there is almost always some bad taste and smell. this seems pretty much perfect to me so far. it works great, is a great size, even makes tea and yogurt. the slightly higher price is well worth it to me. it's so rare that i find something that seems exactly right and this is pretty close. the only small quibble is that the lid needs to be held when pouring out to the end because it is unattached and will fall off but this is still head an shoulders above any other i've found. also, the lid being completely removable means easier cleaning.

I bought this for my tea-lover friend, and he absolutely enjoys this. He could never figure out how to stop the temperature elevating above set temperature, but he can now make 6 cups of tea at once. Would highly recommend for any hungry college student with an infatuation with tea. It's been 2 month so far and no sign of rust.

Love this. It's smaller than I expect so don't expect something huge. (I'm including a picture with a 16.9 oz water bottle to give you an estimate of it size)!its quiet except for the sound of the boiling water, but I don't think anyone can silence that. It has an automatic switch when it is done boiling the water. The lid just snaps shut. There are no buttons to open or close it gently. I won't dock stars for that but that's the only thing I don't quite like. It's cord is decent length. It comes with two small plastic cups and stirring spoons. I don't use them but they make for good cups for rice measuring. Haha. I keep this at my office whenever I want tea, cocoa or instant coffee. I clean it out every day before I go home and leave it upside down to air out overnight. I have has it for a while and do not have problems with calcification like others experience. For real, clean it and you won't have that problem. rinse it out at the end of the day and set it upside down and you won't get that problem. It's great hand portable device. It's NOT cordless Mind you, but never the less it's pretty great for a small thing.

I bought this kettle after serving overseas and experiencing just how far "instant coffee" had come. Compared to the terrible, bitter swill that Uncle Sam gave us, the little pouches from that famous chain coffee joint were a godsend, and infinitely better. I wanted a kettle that was dual voltage for international travel, light weight, and that didn't take up too many of the precious square inches within my duffel bags. This checked the block on all accounts. The compact size also means that it will be easy to toss it in a desk drawer in my office as well. One of my concerns was the lower wattage as compared to other, larger kettles, but with the smaller amount of water that this holds it is not an issue. The .5 liter capacity heats up extremely fast and fills my large 20 oz. travel mug with just enough room for sugar, cream, and to stir without fear of overflowing. The water gets more than hot enough for a cup of coffee and I'm sure it will do the job for tea, oatmeal, or whatever else you may need. From a room away I can hear an audible "click" as the kettle turns itself off which is nice. The lid snaps nice and secure when it closes and I have not yet experienced any of the warping that some others have mentioned with this kettle (also sold under a couple different brand names.) When it comes to those brand names, I wondered what the difference was between this model, which I purchased for $25, and the others which sold for $40. The specs looked the same, but upon receiving it I realize that the difference is this kettle, while still being dual voltage, does not come with the European plug adapter packaged with the others. I'm okay making that trade for $15. Most people won't need the adapter, and if you do you can pick up a half-dozen for that amount of money here on Amazon. All in all I would recommend this kettle to anyone wholeheartedly. I've only had a week to put it through it's paces, but I don't think anything short of major mechanical failure AND a terrible customer service response with the exchange could cause me to lower my rating. For $25 you can't beat the utility and value of this kettle.

This tea kettle was easy to use.The water boiled quickly. It also stayed warm for at least a half hour. So far so good. There were some hard water stains after I emptied the kettle. I used some stainless steel cleaner and regular dish soap. That cleared up the water stains.

I'm super happy with this product and my husband loves it too! He's making coffee and/or tea every day, he even made a soup in it. It was delivered to our house on time. It keeps the water warm for a long time and the it is really easy to use and clean.

Bought this for a very specific need : the need to boil for 10 minutes Essiac tea product. This is a cancer fighting tea dating back to 1920's. The Amazon rep was VERY helpful. I had bought a different one the week before and the literature stated there was material in it that the state of CA listed as carsonogenic - I sure didn't want that! Sent it back, refund ASAP,agent did the search and found the NutriChef. I like it very much, heats quickly. I heat water for my French press for coffee, could warm soup, other simple things. Perfect fit for my needs and HARD to find!

LOVE LOVE LIVE this kettle. I had been searching everywhere for an all glass kettle that had no plastic in contact with the water. This is it. I have hard water so once a week I just clean the caraf by adding an inch or so of white vinegar and letting it soak for an hour or more. It holds plenty of water for my morning and easy enough to add water on the go. I much prefer it to the kuerig now. One year later I am still over the moon for this kettle!! I use it a couple times per day and it is still perfect. I couldn't be happier!

Update although you only get a 3 month warranty with this item I contacted the company and they replaced it for me so I am back in business I hope this one last longer then the first one. Its a great Kettle while it works...I know that sounds funny, but I have had some that just didn't work well at all and asking the company for help well that didn't work either :/ So for now I will give it my first posting of four stars again and one more for the company giving me a replacement I mean that tells me me they think they have a good product too!! I hope so... :) This is a very nice and convenient tea kettle or if you just want to use it for boiling water I take it with me on the road... Update sadly my little kettle died today September 12 2017 I purchased it May 1 2017 and a little over three months and its dead. I originally gave it four stars I had to take three away...It was nice while it lasted. I thought I would at least get two years out it sadly not! :(
