I had bought a more expensive "better" unit but it wouldn't strip the very small low voltage wires. This one does and allows you to strip a longer piece if the original try turns out not to be long enough. A very useful, forgiving tool.

Works Great - Consistent

It is a simple tool but saves so much time and fiddling with wiring. I love this thing and have used it a good deal after purchasing. I would buy again and recommend it for anyone who is not satisfied with the plier style strippers. I have used this for smaller wire as well as medium size wires without fail.

Impressive!

I didn't know about this tool until I saw a professional electronics technician using one on a YouTube video and voila, what a great eye-opener! I used to use flat wire-cutting pliers, which were inconvenient to say the least. This tool saves me a ton of time by just peeling off the right amount of rubber from the wires. It's adjustable and made with great quality. It also cuts wires off with a smaller blade under the main opening. What a gem!!

High quality on a budget

Surprisingly good, for the price. I haven't figured out the tension adjuster at the top, but it does a great job on all smallish (16 AWG and smaller.. it'll do 12 or 14, but not easily) wires I've tried. Pretty good wire cutter, as well. I always expect a "bonus" wire cutter to be awful, but this one is good enough that I usually don't reach for a dedicated cutter.

Glad I ordered it! Have tested on a few wires and found it to strip accurately and cleanly on both solid core and stranded wires. Feels well made and so far I am very pleased with this tool.

Must Have for Homeowners

I recently bought a new house, and had quite a bit of work to do throughout. Usually I regret my impulse purchases, such as this. But now I can't imagine doing wiring work without it! Generally used for stripping wires for ceiling light fixtures and electrical sockets, but the best use I found was in setting up my home theater. Stripping just the right amount of speaker wire was incredibly easy. Overall, a cheap investment that totally paid off!

Great for around the house use.

I’ve had one of these before and it lasted me about 8 or 9 yrs with general light use during my basic wiring projects around the house. Such as replacing outlets, lighting, running new wiring for under cabinet lights, ceiling fans, etc. It works great for me. May not be industrial strength for a professional tradesman but for home use I recommend it highly.

It works when needed

I don't use a wire stripper that often but it's nice to have a tool that works when you need it. Most of the wire I strip tends to be thin which would be impossible to strip without this tool. This is a replacement for one I had over 20 years and broke during my move. Look forward to another 20 years of stripping.

Stripping Made Easy

Great, these strippers pull most insulations off with ease, no holes to put the wire through (hard to see the right sized hole). Even better if you want a little more length stripped just reset and go again. It has a built in cutter. One problem only, it will not strip the harder slippery Teflon insulations.

Super value

An EE buddy of mine swore by these and let me borrow a pair for an outboard wiring project. Unbelievably impressed. These things are well engineered and seem to last. Ordered this pair, although not exactly same brand, they work exactly the same. Best stripper I’ve owned. Wire stripper.
