I got this for my daughter for Christmas. She loves drawing and art and sometimes makes sketches that have lots of corrections until she gets to what she really wants it to look like. This gives her the ability to trace that final design onto a page in bolder lines for a final product. It works so well and she's so very happy with it. It is a very lightweight piece of acrylic that is about half a centimeter thick. There is almost nothing to the construction that can get damaged so it appears to be something that will last a long time. The light box has one marking on the entire thing, and that's where you touch to turn on or adjust the brightness. There are 3 brightness levels. The first level is all that's needed for tracing paper, and would get you by with standard copy paper if needed. The 2nd setting will almost work all the way up to a card stock and the 3rd level is bright enough to shine thru 2 pieces of card stock easily. This helps when you're drawings are on the thicker paper designed for alcohol markers. Power is thru a standard micro-USB connector like any Android phone uses. It comes with a cable, but no power source. You can use anything from a laptop USB port, a USB charger plugged into the wall, or even a power bank to make it totally portable. Really, that's all there is to it. It's a very simple design, which leaves very little room for things to break. Honestly though, for $20, it's not that bad if you do eventually have to replace it though. If you have a budding artist, this is something they will most definitely love to use.

This light pad is amazing. Technology has come a long way and this light pad does not disappoint. It is slim and beautiful. Operation is simple. It plugs into a USB charger (not provided) and comes on with the easiest operation - literally a touch of a button! It has three brightness settings and is powered by only the one button! I bought one to save for my dtr for Xmas as she loves creating and her brother has a coveted one (albeiet old and bulky and battery powered!). After testing it out, I was ready to buy myself one! It is so affordable and then the company contacted me immediately by email to insure my complete satisfaction and provide me with a coupon on my next order! I highly recommend trying this light pad and this company. I just received a personal, follow-up email on my two orders and it is a small entrepreneur company. His kids are the same age and gender as my own. It truly is a small world.

I am very impressed with this product. I had already braced myself with the possibility of receiving a subpar product considering this is one of the cheapest light boxes available here on Amazon, but as soon as I unpacked and tested the light box I was amazed. The light box itself is amazingly thin and slick. My box came with a very nicely wrapped and protected light box. It has a sheet of instructions and it came with a micro usb cord to power it up. This set does not include the wall adapter, but that was no issue for me and I wasn’t expecting to receive one at all. It’s just FYI. I noticed three light settings. As soon as I turned it on, it was bright. But to access the other two brightnesses you just have to run your finger over the on button. It’s very sensitive. And it suddenly gets brighter. This product completely blew my expectations out of the water. I’d also like to mention that as soon as my transaction had cleared and my ordered shipped that I was contacted by the seller making sure that my product was working well and if there was anything they could do for me. 5 Stars for the product. And 5 Stars for customer service.

My daughter wanted this both for tracing patterns and for viewing X-rays (also from amazon). When it arrived I was disappointed because the light is covered in black dots as other reviewers have mentioned and shown photos of. However, we quickly realized that the light is bright enough to show through multiple layers of paper, so now we use it with a white sheet of paper and it works great. In the picture I attached, it’s on the dimmest of 3 brightness settings. We can even put an X-ray on the blank paper and then cover the X-ray with yet another sheet of paper for tracing the shape of the bones!

It took a few months for them to finally reply, but they finally did respond and sent me a replacement, so I appreciate it. They seem to be more responsive contacting them here on Amazon than through the contact form on their official website. The replacement is a different model which has a better placement of the cable, where I think it's unlikely to detach like before. I'll leave my previous review below, but I am updating my current review to a 5 star positive one. ... OLD REVIEW: I'd like to be positive, but I can't. It was fine while it worked, but the wire was loose for as long as I had it, until it finally disconnected, and now it won't turn on. I took it apart, and I can see that I may be able to solder it back, but I've never done that before, so I'm holding off on trying. I contacted the manufacturer, Tikteck, and they responded to my first email, telling me to provide them with my order number. I replied with my info and then... nothing. It's been a month and they've failed to respond to any of my subsequent emails asking them to update me about any progress on my case, like they're just ignoring me.

I bought this for 'weeding' my craft vinyl designs. Needed something light weight, portable, and not blindingly bright. A4 Ultra-thin Portable LED Light Box tracer USB Power LED Artcraft Tracing Light Pad Light Box for Artists,Drawing, Sketching, Animation

so this replaced my Lightbox, and I use it for animation, sketching and drawing, and its easy for kids and adults to use. its super thin, but I haven't had any trouble with cracking. its portable, fits in a backpack, and its light weight. the light is bright, and you can use it outside or in a lit room without issues, so you don't have to be in a dark space to use it. the LED light is clear and crisp. if it doesn't come with a power cord, any micro usb cord will work, and I have used a couple different usb wall plugs and they seem compatible. the spot where the power button is gets hot after a while, but its just in one small spot, the light pad itself remains cool.

By far one of the cheapest but good-quality light boxes (though it's so thin it might be more accurate to call it a light pad) I've seen. It works splendidly; the three different brightness settings, which are all accessed by a simple tap of the power button once the device is plugged in, give a lot of versatility for different kinds of paper to be used, both for the drawing you're tracing and the paper you're tracing it on. Just as well, though I am not an optometrist and cannot prove this, it's supposed to be eye-protective, and I haven't noticed any feeling of tired or irritated eyes while using it, which is great, since I've been using it a lot. (Rather finding excuses to use it, now that I have it.) The working area is nice and smooth and unfettered, and it would appear whether by design or by accident that it has almost a non-slipping nature once you lay the paper down. It doesn't seem to adhere to it, but for as smooth as it is I expected to have problems with the paper moving on it's own. Fortunately, that's not the case. The paper only moves when the user (me) either moves it on purpose or user error like a bump moves it. It's not sliding all over the light box at the slightest touch. I saw one of the FAQs ask if the light box surface got hot after a while, and I can effectively say it does not. It stays completely cool to the touch. However, the black strip of plastic the power button is on does get uncomfortably warm after a little while. Not hot, but if you brush your hand against it, you'll notice the difference. It won't burn you and it's not so hot you can't touch it at all, it's just that it's noticeable. Overall, this was just the right size for what I needed---the super-thin design fits nicely behind sketchbook pages without loosing precious paper space where the page curves over the edge near the binding, and the tracing surface itself is big enough for the whole page, though I will admit I don't usually take up whole pages for a drawing. And I must say I find the idea of controlling the settings with a few taps after the device is plugged in rather than button presses very sleek. The only flaw with this is if you touch the control point while drawing with your arm or another area of skin, it may respond to it as a touch, but this was only a problem that I noticed once and isn't worth docking a star to me. The power cord that comes in the box is surprisingly long in my opinion, and that works out nicely, as I usually have other things already plugged into my computer (or am not at my computer when I want to use the light box) and have to use a wall outlet or usb port on a power strip. Which is where the only other problem for some people (but was not a problem for me) might come in, as the light box, or at least mine, does not come with a wall plug to adapt the usb. But as I said, this was not a problem for me because I already have a couple lying around. Just be aware if you're buying one that if you don't have a usb port available to you, you may want to get one, but again, for me, this wasn't worth docking a star. The light box came pretty well protected; a stack of tissue paper, foam-ish guards on the corners, and even a foam-ish sleeve under that, and in a pretty nice cardboard box. Which I might add has a pretty cute picture on the front. I am very happy with this light box and should I ever need another one, it will be this brand I go to for it. It fits my needs, has a nice design and functions flawlessly, and I look forward to getting a ton of use out of it going forward.

I love this thin and bright light "box". It has 3 brightness settings, which makes it flexible. I'm using it for applique. I draw a design and then put it on the light "box" (it's more like a sheet of glass) and trace it onto freezer paper or Steam A Seam II to transfer to fabric. It shines brightly through even the thicker layers of Steam A Seam II. I also used it to draw quilting patterns onto fabric, and it works so well. I really love it. It has to be plugged in to use, so I may also purchase the other one that charges for taking to workshops, etc.

First off I read quite a few of the reviews and there was definitely a wide range of opinions... Second, I received the product sooner than was expected. Ordered it very early Friday morning, with two day shipping it was to arrive today Sunday, but I received it yesterday, Saturday. What great shipping, That was fast! Third, I received a nice email from the company. Now THAT.., is what I call excellent customer service. To be honest.., I was kind of surprised to have an email in my inbox from them. Fourth, I was hoping that the light box would work. It is in excellent condition and it works like a charm. I am very impressed with it's performance. I couldn't ask for more. I had no problems with the usb cable going in, in fact it is still in the light box and has not moved or came loose at all. The light gradient works with the lightest of touch. You don't have press hard. I Love it! It is going to work just fine for what I wanted it for, and a few other applications I am sure. I am using a Tzumi Pocket Juice 4,000mAh Solo Portable Charger and I am having no problems there either. I also have a larger charger that I will possibly use also. I ordered it at the right time. A few hours later it went up in price. Charger I am using.. https://www.amazon.com/Pocket-Juice-Portable-Charger-4000/dp/B06WWB2R5P/ref=sr_1_fkmr2_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1514779091&sr=8-1-fkmr2&keywords=Tzumi+Pocket+Juice+4%2C000mAh+Solo+Portable+Charger%2C Add On.. For those who are too, to put this lightly.., dumb to figure out how to use this with slides or other film like products.., Just put a piece of paper on the light box first. It will solve your problem.. you will no longer see "dots"..
