Exactly what I was looking for.
I finally found a sisal that I felt comfortable with using to re-wrap the scratching posts on our cat trees. Im not sure why, but if you look through reviews of sisal rope, many people complain of not feeling comfortable using the sisal they purchased for their pets, or for making crafts or furniture because it has a strong chemical smell similar to gasoline or kerosene! I experienced this too with other brands! I couldn't find any good quality sisal rope at nearby stores that didn't wreak of chemicals! Not only did SGT Knots rope NOT stink of chemicals, it has a strong natural sisal smell that our cats were immediately attracted to! Our one cat came over and stuck her head right in the bag hole right after I opened it, so she could check it out lol. Mind you, the smell isn't overbearing. Its not going to make your house smell like sisal, but rather is has a strong scent when you sniff it up close. The previous sisal that I replaced didn't really have a smell at all that I could detect. This could work really well if you're trying to train a cat to scratch on the post instead of on your furniture! We had this issue with one kitty whom is very picky about what surfaces he likes to scratch on, and he immediately went for the cat tree after wrapping it in this rope and he hasn't scratched on anything else since then! I'd also like to mention that the rope seems to be of fairly high quality and is twisted very professionally. Other ropes Ive seen have had alot more loose, brittle strands than this stuff!

Works for DIY scratching post
Great sisal rope! I used this to "repair" where my cat had scratched up our sofa. This rope, a hot glue gun, and a couple of hours later, we have a built in scratching post for the cat and a much less beat up looking sofa for the humans. The roap is durable and consistent in texture and thickness. It's a bit scratchy and "rustic", so I wouldn't recommend it for anything you'll be touching often. The cat loves it though!

Great rope, measure don’t underestimate lol
I got exactly what I was expecting, 100’ sisal rope, neatly coiled and in a bag. I didn’t smell anything as others mentioned but I wasn’t ready to use it until this morning so it got about 24 hours to air out anyway. I hot glued it tightly to a 32” tall, 5.5” square cat scratcher, it covered more than half but not quite 2/3. I wish I would’ve ordered two, it’s good quality rope and looks fantastic. Luckily I started from the top, my cat likes to stretch out tall when he uses it, my hubby finished off the bottom section with a piece of carpet we had leftover, our cat never scratches that low anyways and as luck would have it the carpeting was nearly the same color as the rope so it looks like it was purchased that way!

1/4” is perfect for cat scratching post!
I purchased this rope to rewrap the posts on my cat’s Vesper scratching post. I purchased the 1/4” 600’ box. The size was just right for the scratching post and matched the size of the rope that was already on them (see photos - the original is darker than this rope). The rope came coiled up in a box, with a piece sticking out of the top and a note that said “start here” so I was able to just leave it in the box and pull from the center, which was perfect! The rope is very rough and kind of “splintery” but I had no issues and it didn’t stab me or anything, but I did feel the need to be careful. It did shed on the rug as I was wrapping but, it seemed to do fine. I hot glued it as I went and it worked perfectly. It does have a slight gasoline/mineral spirits smell to it. Not bad enough that I couldn’t finish my project or bad enough to give my a headache (and I’m pretty sensitive to things like this), but it was a little unpleasant. I have the posts outside airing out before I put the cat tree back together. Only time will tell if it will hold up and if my cats will like it (fingers crossed) but so far it has been exactly what I needed for this project.

Good quality
I disliked how it was a cluster of knots in the middle. Pretty much had to take the thing apart. Took about as much time untangling than putting project together. Not a deal breaker though, just annoying. I would definitely order again. Used this to wrap a cat tower with. Just used hot glue. Better quality than what the tower came with. Bottom is this rope, top is original. Cat was using it moments after I finished.

Only product I trust for my parrots!
I have no idea why there are some poor reviews. This is in no way treated! I included a pic of “untreated” twine from Walmart. As you can clearly see the top image is much, much darker from the oils they used on it. The bottom bulk pic is the SGT. It is very natural. I use it for all my bird toys. I also buy the SGT twine which I will also review. The only drawback to this twine is because it is chemical free, it doesn’t hold knots very well. I combat this by wetting it a little. Another drawback is if you have soft skin wear gloves, as it has some sharp little buggers on it and gives me blisters. Small price to pay when you have a cockatoo that can shred a wooden block in 2 minutes. This is durable and he has problems getting through the quarter inch. In fact, even the thin twine stands up to him for a little while if I double it. All and all, this is a great value, durable product, all natural, and is the ONLY product I will trust for my birds which are not only my heart, the are also my pocketbook as well.

Exactly what I needed to redo scratching post
This is just what I wanted to repair my cat's scratching posts which they've clawed through to the core after 3 years. But I grossly underestimated how much I would need! I have a cat tree with multiple ruined posts and 50 feet was only enough for one tall post. Next time I'll buy the longest amount.

Purr-fect for Cat Tree Scratching Posts
I recently "rescued" my friend's cat as she had welcomed a new puppy into her family and he threw the critter dynamic off in her household. The sweet kitty came with some accoutrements including this wreck of a cat tree. I had initially ordered one 100 ft spool of the 1/4 inch. Yeah, my calculations were off so, I ordered another spool of the same. I used some small metal tacks hammered in for the ends and kept the rope as taunt as possible while using a hot glue gun to keep it in place. I think it turned out rather well. Now, my l'il house panther needs to be brave and start exploring her new home and not hiding under a bed. We'll get there. As for the rope, it is of great quality and was easy to work with. I mean, as easy as sisal rope can be as it wasn't too stiff or too hairy that it "sheds" constantly. Oh and this rope isn't oiled or coated with anything that could harm your pets or self. A truly natural product. Pro-Tip: Wear work gloves when working with this rope since it' is "natural" and can be "prickly" to sensitive skin. I ordered from this company as it is based in the USA (Mooreville, NC) and is veteran-owned, I believe. They also had a high overall customer rating, too. I will DEFINITELY order from them again. UPDATE: My l’il house panther has become the bravest and happiest of all the house panthers! She loves her “new & improved” perch and uses the scratching posts every day. I remain very satisfied with this purchase.

Quality rope for a good price
I bought this rope to re-wrap three scratching posts that were part of a cat condo. Our cat had destroyed the original Sisal and after much research I settled upon this product. The price for a 100 foot roll was better than the competitors 66 foot roll. Rolling it as tight as we could we managed to use about 70 feet of rope for each support post and donated the remaining 30 feet of each roll to a local Boy Scout troop for their knots and lashing practice. So far we have not had any problems with it unraveling or tearing apart. A good experience!
