Good, softer alternative to the original
When I bought the orginal lena cup I was super excited because it my first "name brand" cup (I had originally purchased the blossom cup on amazon), and the youtuber starspreciouspads was involved in the design process, so I was really excited to use it, but it was far too thick and too firm to fold into a smaller fold, so I couldn't use it unless I jammed it up there really quickly, otherwise my fingers would get tired and release it mid entry. I was very disappointed and decided to stick my blossom cup until I heard that they had released a softer version of the lena. I liked how the original lena leaked far less than my old cup (when I could get it in ) so I decided to give it a shot. The lena sensitive is the same design, but much softer/ more flexible than the original, which is exactly what I was hoping for. Although they are the same thickness, it folds better (due to the softness) and I found that it pressed a lot less on my bladder than the original lena, and I didn't feel the constant need to take a poo like I did with the original, so I was really pleased. If you're like me and tried to original but didn't like the firmness, then I urge you to try this cup.

First time using a cup, and i love it!
I did a lot of research and watched a lot of youtube videos before buying this cup. It's my first time and i thought, this is sort of scary, something you insert in and leave for 12 hours?! that's insane. This is my first cup, so i don't know what to compare it to minus a pad and a tampon. And i must say.. i'm never ever going back to using tampons or pads. This cup trick can be tricky at first, you're not sure how to insert it, and you're always afraid it'll leak. I've used this about 4 or 5 times now, and trust me, it gets easier. I think i've only leaked two or three times, but you can tell when you're leaking, so for the first couple of times just wear a thin panty liner just to play it safe. Anyway, this cup is amazing, i would recommend it to anyone. On average, i wold change my tampon about every 3-4 hours not a person with a very heavy flow either, except the 2nd day of my period. But i ordered the small sensitive cup and i think i only fill up about half way through during the entire 12 hours i have it in. OH! and the little end piece that helps you pull the cup out needs to be cut. I actually panicked about not having it because how the heck was i supposed to take it out?! You wanna cut it, because when i had mine, even with it slightly long, it was rubbing against my skin and started to hurt. So once you cut it, youll find that it's comfortable and when you need to take it out, just squeeze the bottom of the cup and that will release the suction and the cup will come out as you pull it. Very easy process, i love it.

I'm a persnickety cup user, and even I love this cup!
Simply an amazing cup. One of the best I've tried so far, I absolutely LOVE it. - The silicone is even smoother than the original. Inserting it is easy and there's hardly any resistance. It feels sturdy even though it's softer than the original Lena, and it's finished off expertly, no seams or ridges to deal with. -It's somewhat less springy than the original, but that's to be expected. I still found it simple to get open (I like the 7 fold with this one), and VERY easy to remove. However, it doesn't cause any pressure on the urethra, bladder or bowls (at least in my experience), but it holds it's shape well throughout activities. I have yet to sleep with it, I imagine it would be fine though. - The shape is unique and a favorite among cup users. Although I usually prefer V shaped cups, I found this Sensitive version to be more suitable than the original. I'm usually aware of the other Lena cup I own, but I could walk around all day without noticing this one. -One con I have personally is that it's not available in any colors. I prefer colored cups to help minimize staining. This is merely an asthetic preference though and doesn't effect the functionality, so I'm not subtracting a star for it. I also understand that it's probably congruent with the "Sensitive"/"Simplicity" image for this cup, and many women dislike the idea of dyes. So...I get the reasoning behind leaving it white (and the white pouch with polka dots matches adorably with the cup itself). Lena's customer service also deserves a shout out! This company is absolutely the best to deal with that I've even experienced during my cup journey. I previously (months ago) ordered a large Lena per the recommendation they provide for people who have given vaginal birth. It was uncomfortable however, and they provided me with a free small cup (both original). Since then I recommend Lena heartily to anyone who the cups would suit, they're awesome! Having known better, I ordered the small again in the Sensitive version. (I feel like this needed to be said.) Anyway, great company, great cups. Much love!

I love this cup
This is my first time trying out a menstrual cup and I really love it. (I've included a couple things that I have found work for me at the end of the review.) I wasn't sure which one to buy, so I took an online quiz and read hundreds of reviews and advice before settling on the Lena Sensitive Small. While I realize not every cup work for every person, I got really lucky and this one works really well for me. From the very start, I liked it. The packaging was cute and, even though it has no bearing on functionality, it was a nice first impression. The cup is a soft silicone but it's sturdy at the same time; it's a good balance. Since I'd never used a cup before, I was a little nervous about putting it in and having it leak. Like practically everyone else, it took some trial and error, but by the middle of my second cycle, I was able to get it inserted correctly every time. After figuring out what works for me, I can insert it quickly and correctly in about ten seconds or less. As much as I'd like to not have to cut the stem, I think I'm going to have to since the stem can be pretty uncomfortable for me sometimes. The stem is quite long and my cervix is about midway up, so sometimes it sticks out a little and can be irritating. The stem isn't absolutely necessary since you're not supposed to pull it for removal, but it's not a bad thing to have for grabbing the cup. I might try trimming it a little at a time until it's comfortable before just cutting off the whole thing. I love that you can wear this for up to twelve hours, which I've been able to do, especially being able to wear it through the night. It's so wonderful not having to worry about leaks or changing it after only a few hours, though on my heavier days, I've had to change it around the six-hour mark. It's still better than tampons. When inserted properly, I don't feel it (aside from the stem) and I often forget it's there. That's a big bonus. Like some reviews I've read on various sites, you can sometimes tell when it's "full" because you can sort of feel the weight of it, if that makes sense? That can be helpful so it doesn't get too full before you empty it. It can be messy, yes, but that's just the nature of the product. I have not had a problem with it spilling or anything upon removal, even when the cup gets pretty full. I always carry a travel-size pack of baby wipes with me, which has come in handy when I need to empty and re-insert it when I'm not at home. I strongly recommend that little tip as it helps make it less messy. Now that I have found the insertion method that works for me, I no longer worry about leaks, which makes this one of the best purchases I've ever made. While every woman's body is different, I definitely recommend this particular cup as a really great option to try. I'm in my late 30s, never had kids, am barely moderately active, I have a pretty heavy flow, and this works for me, if that helps anyone for reference. I am really happy I tried this and I wish I had tried this years and years ago. Here are some things that work for me: I use the punch down fold, which has been so much better than the C-fold. I insert it most of the way, leaving just the bottom outside before I let it go so it opens. Sometimes it doesn't open immediately, but I just push it up from the bottom, while it's open, into place and it's fine. If it doesn't immediately open, I squeeze the bottom third of the cup and rotate it a little and that will always open it for me. To check to ensure it's open, gently run your finger around the entire cup - you will be able to tell if it isn't open because you it won't be smooth and you will feel where it's folded of pinched together. It needs to be completely open for it to work. As gross as this is, once I get it inserted and it's open, I run my finger around the top to make sure the cup is around my cervix. This part is essential. If it isn't around your cervix to catch everything, you are going to leak. Once I make sure it's around my cervix, I grab the bottom and gently pinch it and give it a light tug to make sure it's secure. Don't pinch too hard or you risk breaking the suction. I've not had the fortune of being able to really feel the suction like some people claim, so as long as it doesn't move when I lightly tug on it, it's fine. Make sure the holes just under the top lip of the cup are clear before inserting to make sure a proper seal can be achieved. When removing it for the first time, don't panic. It's awkward and it can be pretty difficult the first time, but tensing your muscles will make removal that much harder. I have found that what works for me, with practically no mess, is to pinch the bottom of the cup and shimmy it down a little bit to break the seal, then keep slightly wiggling it back and forth until it's mostly outside, then grab the middle of the cup, without squeezing it, and gently and slowly pull it out and a little forward so that you bring it out almost upright. It's prevented any spills or splatter using that method, rather than pulling it downward. Then, dump it, rinse it (if you can) and reinsert it and you're good to go. Also, emptying and reinserting it in the shower is always a good option.

This cup changed my life in ways I did not expect!
I cannot stop sharing the wonders of this cup with the world. Since I have already shouted from all the social media rooftops about what a life-changing product this is, I figured it was high time for me to let Amazon customers know-- The Lena cup is FAB. U. LOUS. I recently decided to begin using non-hormonal contraception (copper IUD), knowing that with that comes the likelihood of a heavier menstrual flow during your cycle, but I was NOT prepared. No woman wants to feel like she is 13 years old again, but that's what my cycle was-- messy, EVERYWHERE, ruining clothes and sheets, with extremely intense cramps. I was at the point where I was wearing maxi pads with super tampons in an effort to make sure I didn't bleed through my clothes at work and popping NSAIDs on a timer. It was miserable. Enter the Lena cup. A few of my friends had mentioned they moved to a menstrual cup after getting a copper IUD, but I was completely unaware of how pleasant my period could be after making the switch. While there was a definite learning curve, I just took the time to view a couple of youtube videos, read the insert and used a liner with the first cycle employing this cup. IT WAS MAGICAL! 12-hours of no bleed through, minimal cramps and I didn't have tampons dictating my productivity while at work. Let me repeat one point: MINIMAL CRAMPS! No more dosing up on pain killers and Midol. Not to mention my SO and I were able to sleep in bed without layers of towels beneath us during my cycle. Now, many of the women I know ask if it can get "stuck." While it can't get lost inside you, there are definite times when my cramps seem to grab hold of the cup a little stronger than others, but by relaxing my muscles, removal is no issue. The key is to read up on how it should rest inside you and definitely not to place it directly against your cervix. I feel robbed by the tampon industry after buying into their propaganda for years. This cup has literally changed my life. I carry a couple of liners in my purse and a tampon in case something goes down, but I consider myself a full-blown menstrual cup convert. Lena sensitive was perfect for my body and I wish every woman knew there were other options than using bleached cotton objects to manage your flow.

Easy, Comfy, Well made
AMAZING! I am 23, had a first rough start with menstral cups but thought I’d give Lena Sensitive a try and loved it! I have a low cervix so this shorter cup served me well. I really really like how soft the rim is compared to the rest of the body, I’ve noticed a lot of cups tend to have a harder rim compared to the body but this makes it extremely easy to take in and out especially because it’s soft makes it easy to minupulate. I like using the origami fold with this cup, though I know most use Cfold, personally I just can’t insert comfortably with such a wide fold. Ppl have mentioned that softer cups are harder to pop open once inserted, but I actually found it really easy since the rim naturally hugs around the cervix, it’s easy to tell. I would just press around the bottom of the cup and sweep all around the bottom to make sure there isn’t any folds, or spinning it works too if you’d prefer. If I really couldn’t get it open after that, usually means the cup is beyond the cervix, I’d just pull it down a bit and then push it back up and it opens. I also cut the stem off and filed it down for a smoother rounder bottom. I found the grip was a little irritating for me and not needed so prominently for a softer cup since it was so easy to remove. With a file that was an easy fix but still easy to insert and remove. Though be mindful if you do decide to file, the silicon doesn’t turn out as a perfectly silkily smooth finish, but I still found it was better than before and 100% worth it. Just remember to use some sort of lubercant (personally love coconut oil all natural blend with essential oils) on your cup if you are using it on your lighter days. Overall wonderful product, satisfactory design and would highly recommend, particularly to younger gals starting out.

Amazing cup! Do your research!
I've used a cup for about three and a half years. My previous cup was the smaller size

A Husband Explaining First Hand Why His Wife Loves It
My wife and I are sitting at the table and she was all smiles. I asked why and her response was “because I found something that is so amazing and works so well.” So being curious, I asked what that was. To my disappointment, it had nothing to do with a new sports car she is looking to buy me or an addition to my “man room”, rather her response was a “cup.” Then I made the mistake of saying what do you mean? So with this great new knowledge, I decided to turn it into a real review in an interview format for all those looking to buy the “cup”. Her response was, “I found this cup and it’s amazing.” So I asked, do you drink out of it? She said no, it replaces a tampon and it works tons better and feels better. She went on to explain that rather than absorbing liquids and sucking it from your body, it simply catches the “stuff” and then you change it out. So of course, my response was, “a little like throwing out bad beer in a cup?” Her response was, yes just like that. So my curiosity was peaked. I then was trying to grasp my head around it. So I said, “Okay, so you have this thing shaped like a Solo Cup and you take it and throw it in a tight location? How does that work?” Her response was simple, “it just fits snug.” So go figure. Some scientist figured out how to take a round object and stick it in a not so round hole, but it worked! Ha, last time I can use the analogy of round peg square hole. So in any case, I had more questions. I had to know how she changed it out. So I asked, “Does this mean when you pull it out you run the risk of dropping it on your pants, etc.?” She said “clearly you don’t get the process, but no there is little risk of dropping it!” So as she explained, she detailed how it fills up and then you have to change it. I could not stop my curiosity, so I asked her “does this mean when you walk and its near full, you feel it shake back and forth as it sits in the cup?” Her response was NO! My last question was straight forward and one every guy would ask…. Is it dishwasher safe? She did not find it funny, but deep down I was not joking. I was afraid I was going to find it in there one day! Well at the end of the day she told me it was her best decision yet and she is a raving fan about it to her friends. I asked her to do me one favor, not to “share it” on Facebook! She said she ended up purchasing a few to find which fit best, but once she did find it, she was happy and most importantly felt better. Well kudos to the person who invented the new “cup.” For the record, guys had cups for their groin area way before girls did! She gives is a 10 out of 10!

I can sleep naked on my period now, thanks Lena!
I've never used a cup before this one, and I'm certainly glad I made the purchase. I can insert it on heavy days and essentially forget it's there. Great for swimming, bike riding, taking long car rides, sleeping without worry of a spill, and of course just about anything else you can think of. There are some cons, none of which I thought warranted a rating of less than five star rating; namely because other period products present similar problems: -Discomfort and cramping upon insertion (especially first insertion of your period): I feel that my cramps are a little worse/noticeable upon insertion of the cup, but this fades as long as the cup is inserted far enough back, and as your body accommodates to the girth of the cup. -Difficulty pooping: I generally take it out to poop, since it puts pressure towards the colon, making bowel movements difficult. The pressure placed on the urethra also causes urine to trickle much slower than usual, but presents no further difficulties in that department. In fact, the cup feels much cleaner than a tampon upon urinating because there is no absorbent material/string to potentially soak up urine. -Irritation: The cup is larger than a tampon, so removal and insertion can cause more initial irritation - however, since the length of time that the cup can be left in is greater than that of the tampon, the cup causes less irritation in the long run, imo. The cup also keeps the natural moisture intact, as opposed to tampons, which absorb indiscriminately and cause uncomfortable dryness. The problems of persistent chafing, moisture, and bulkiness associated with pads are nonexistent with the cup. The tail of the cup bothered me on my first period, but I've gotten better at positioning the cup now, and am glad that I didn't snip it off despite my initial negative reaction. Smell (?) - After a couple periods I noticed a really strong and strange odor emitting from the cup, even after I had washed it with soap. I'm kind of dumbfounded as to what it could could be, but thorough scrubbing with alcohol wipes and boiling (the cup, lol) at the end of my period bring it down to a manageable (but still present) levels, so I suppose I'll commit this to standard practice. My favorite aspects of the cup are it's cleanliness and respect for natural moisture. My least favorite aspects are the mystery smell and troublesome poops. I've seen some reviews claiming that the cup is too soft to expand once inserted, but have never had this problem myself.

Great Cup, Especially for First-Time Users!
This is my second month trying out a menstrual cup, but this has been my first month using the Lena Sensitive cup, and so far I’m so happy with it! I tried a different cup the month before since others online said it was a good “first-timer” cup and was good for if you had a lower cervix. That other cup was harder to insert and remove, and it was fairly uncomfortable. It always seemed to leak for me, and I assumed it was first-timer user error. I was still determined to try a menstrual cup because I hate bleeding into pads and hate having to change a tampon at least every 4 hours. I decided to try the small Lena sensitive cup (I have given birth before, but my daughter was a micro-preemie, so I wanted to try a small size first. My cervix is usually low to medium height during my period as well, and I assumed a smaller size would be a better fit). The actual texture of the cup is great. The other brand I used the month before was almost “sticky” and hard to insert. Not sure how to describe this material, but it’s easier to grip for insertion and removal. The cup is much more flexible, so doing the folds to insert and breaking the seal to remove is also much easier. I know some users say it can be harder to push the cup up because it’s more flexible, but I haven’t had a problem with that. So far, I’ve had NO LEAKS! I feel so much better knowing I AM able to wear a menstrual cup and that the other brand’s cup just wasn’t for me. The cup is surprisingly comfortable. It doesn’t give me any stronger cramps than I normally have the first or second day into my cycle. I actually find it much more comfortable than tampons. Overall, I think this is a great cup, especially for beginners. I’m very glad I didn’t give up on trying a cup and ordered the Lena sensitive cup this month!
