I do not often write reviews however I felt like I had to for this product. My hope is that if I write this review and people like it they will buy more of the rolls/bags and help keep the price the same or lower for the next time I buy these rolls again. The rolls are definitely bigger than the starter roll that came with my Foodsaver FM5380 from Sam's Club. I went through that roll pretty quickly, I do not know if it was because the bags were not so good on that starter roll or because I had a learning curve to conquer, but they did not hold up too well. Needless to say I felt like I wasted a good roll from Foodsaver, however I still had 8 more rib eyes I needed to wrap. Not realizing how expensive rolls were I decided to take a shot at these bags. The first thing I did was roll half of the roll onto the empty roller from the starter roll. The roll then fit perfectly under the sealer. The bags worked great and either they worked better than the Foodsaver brand roll or I mastered my learning or I think both. I do miss the little white section on the bags from the FoodSaver brand that allows a spot to write the date and contents, however for a fraction of the price, I do not miss it too much. Only one bag punctured but that was due to a very shop bone. After smoothing it out there were no more issues. I'll keep my eyes on them and if they do not hold up I'll update my review. For the time being I recommend these bags over the Foodsaver brand.

These rolls don't actually fit in a food saver (or the other brand machines and I knew this when I bought them)) but that's okay because the cutters on they machine sucks anyway so I prefer to cut the bags with scissors. Also, the name brand bags are the same price for half the product. These are just as great without the name and you get way more! I buy meat in bulk and separate at home using my food saver and I use it quite often so these are well worth it. These two rolls will last me about a year of regular use!

Great quality bags for a super price. Works just as well as the name brand.

I was on the fence about this product because of the negative reviews and videos but thought I’d give it a try since there are free returns. I didn’t have any issues with the bag sealing. I also posted a video of me sealing. 1” thick steak to show how effective the vacuum seal is. Hope this helps those of you who are on the fence like I was. Go for it!

I have an old-school Foodsaver - the plain white colored one that literally just seals. I handcut the size I need, seal one end - place food, then vacuum seal the other. When food shortages started the most comforting thing was home cooked meal. Often times ingredients aren't always available. Rather than go to several stores looking for what I need, I began to buy bulk cuts of meat or whatever food items were available. I also make extra meals to keep a stocked chest freezer and pantry. I needed to vacuum seal to extend storage life. The Foodsaver bags were expensive and I quickly ran out & decided to try these. I wouldn't say these are thinner - but they are more pliable and seem to vacuum seal more snugly around the food than the Foodsaver bags. It also didn't have as many sharp edges that the Foodsaver brand is prone to on some items. You get 2 rolls: 11" wide by 50' long. That's 100 feet for $22! Great price and BPA free. Each roll is continuous, sealed on each side and you cut to whatever size you want. One side is smooth and shiny, the other is textured - just like the Foodsaver brand. I'm not a fan of plastic directly on food and often use deli paper or parchment in-between. This doesn't seem to affect the vacuum sealing at all. The real test is how these will hold up in the freezer over time. A couple of my Foodsaver brand bags failed within a month...not sure why. This brand hasn't had any issues. I did notice if I didn't wait long enough between seals, it melted from the heat at the seam. That didn't happen if I just wait 20 seconds between seals. These bags seal nicely directly over food, food in packages like flour, tortillas, frozen veggies etc. I sealed several pounds of dried chickpea beans to put in the pantry, these bags really fit the bumpy contours of the beans. I also quick-freeze leftovers in take-out bowls like beef stew, curry, whole meals, then vacuum seal the whole bowl so anyone can just heat up a homemade meal in minutes. We no longer need takeout as there's always a home cooked meal in the freezer - we've already saved hundreds of dollars. I hope others can use vacuum sealing to keep their freezer stocked and reduce trips to the grocery stores. These bags are definitely a great price to get started. Also look for tips on vacuum sealing food on YouTube. **Update, some of the bags have lost their seal. No holes but seemingly a slow leak. I'd say it's 1% fail which is the same for Foodsaver brand.

I've tested these a few times with my FoodSaver, which I primarily use for sous-vide cooking. PRO: -works great with foodsaver vacuum sealer. Probably works with the majority of other brands too. -material is strong and holds a seal well. CON (minor nitpicks here. Honestly these are a fine product): -material is slightly thinner than foodsaver, but this isn't really significant. -material is unprinted and has no guides for easy cutting. Makes them harder to cut straight, but it doesn't really matter. -bag rolls are (get this) so long that they don't fit in my bag storage/cutter provided with my foodsaver! So I've had to resort to cutting them with scissors or a knife until the roll is small enough to fit inside the storage bin. I didn't expect this issue. No problems and I foresee purchasing these again when they (finally) run out in a few years.

Seems exactly like the name brand stuff, but for a fraction of the price! I was pleasantly surprised to find that my first roll had a section at ~15' already cut off, so it was a simple matter to wind it onto an empty core so I can store it inside my food saver device. When I exhausted that roll, I found that the rest of the first roll is one continuous piece. No matter, just re-rolled a bunch onto my bare spool, cut it, and put it all away! Perfect seal, great clarity, retains flexibility in sub-zero temps, just like it should! A++

These rolls don't fit the Food Saver machine as they come out of the box, that's all the bad news I have to report . Now for the good stuff ,these bags are fabulous. They seal better than the originals that came with the machine . The fact that I had to reroll the bags was no big deal seeing as you get more than twice the number of bags makes it all worthwhile . the whole idea of the machine is to give you the ability to buy in bulk and portion it out and freeze it .The cost of the originals kind of gets real close to the break even point. With these bags it's a Win Win situation all the way around. Thanks lob44

Getting ready to buy my third set of these bags. No problem whatsoever with them in my foodsaver machine. I was smart enough to save my original core tube when I bought the first set and simply roll off enough onto it to fit into my machine. I have used these bags for everything from steaks to seafood, fresh applesauce and breads. The breads/rolls are frozen first then sealed as I do with fresh fruits/berries. So nice to have fresh fruits in the winter that I know are non gmo and have no pesticides on them. I make my own apple sauce, apple butter and tomato sauces. All seal beautifully and I have no leakage. I don’t can anything anymore because I get a better tasting product by sealing and stacking in my freezer, and the storage space savings are so worth it. We buy bulk meats and seafoods and have never had a problem. We found a New York strip steak package that got lost in the back of the freezer this summer. It was dated 9/17. It had no freezer burn after 2 years and we grilled it just to see...perfect! If you can’t get the seal to take rough side up try smooth side up, once in a great while I have to use this “trick”. Don’t be afraid of trying this product, so worth if or the quality and the savings.

We often buy bulk when we find a good deal, especially meat/grocery related. To avoid losing the savings to spoilage we vacuum pack in smaller portions and freeze as soon as possible. These vacuum sealer rolls are a huge savings over local store prices and allow us to vary the package sizes as needed. Very happy with the product and were surprised at the quick shipping too.
