Best 21 watt folding solar panel for the money I've seen yet! Let me tell you why....

Ever notice that the comments on devices like these run into 3 main types? Those who know how they work, then somewhat, then no clue. It's like most things, really. In the case of the newer thin film monocrystalline folding panels such as as this, 21 watts is right there at the top of the curve for affordability relative to devices being charged while still being "backpack worthy". I wouldn't even consider polycrystalline panels for any application over 5 watts, these days. This unit does what it says it'll do provided one doesn't expect too much from it's wattage at this price point. It'll charge a modern phone with 5.5" screen and around 3000mah battery in 3 hours in spring or summer sun, provided the phone is OFF when you put it in direct sunlight. Leave your phone on during charging and you will quickly come to see the limitations of solar compared to grid power. You can use these to charge flashlights, arc lighters, radios, phones, and you name it, provided your device uses USB to charge. VERY handy and VERY affordable. Buy 2 or 3 at this price!

Decent size to do the job. Works best with direct sunlight, which means you kind of have to keep an eye on it as the sun arcs across the sky. I charged 2 i-phones in about an hour. It is pretty rugged and holes in the corners and the accompanying clips allow it to be attached on the outside of a backpack.

It actually works great

Read many reviews and was hesitant, but figured I would buy it and try. Living in a tropical area I have access to plenty of sunlight and let me tell you this solar panel works. I have only tried charging one item at a time but it's great, charges quickly and stays charged. And even if a cloud come by once in a while or someone walks by and cast a shadow it doesn't really effect it. Strongly recommend it.
