Arrived with scratches on the top, but seller immediately reached out to me. Great customer service.
This is a nice coffee canister. However, when I took it out of the packaging, there were several scratches on it. 🙁 There was no damage in shipping so this item was obviously packaged this way. It is nice though, but I would say, quite overpriced. I would not purchase again at this price. UPDATE: After my first 3-star review, the seller reached out to me. They provided amazing customer service and did everything possible to ensure I was happy with this product. They definitely stand behind their product. I'm extremely impressed. And I love my coffee canister. Great quality and I am certainly a happy customer.

High Quality Container and Excellent Company!
My husband and I love coffee. In the past, we didn't know any better and would leave the bags out without a proper seal. Recently I went to a friend's house and had excellent coffee. She told us that she kept her coffee on a special canister to keep the freshness. I started doing research and found that Coffee Gator was really the best based on all the positive reviews and comments, so I decided to give it a try. I am extremely happy with the container for several reasons: 1. I CAN taste the difference in the freshness and taste of my coffee. 2. The container is well made: strong and beautiful. I am leaving it in my counter for that reason! 3.The seal is fantastic. It SEALS! It has a great rubber (see pictures) 4. It comes with a few extras such as a scoop for the coffee and an e-Book with some interesting tips to enjoy better coffee. Lastly, I have to complement the company! I had a shipping issue with Amazon and I contacted the company. They were quick to respond and took care of my issue with diligence! I will be getting a second container for my decaf coffee soon. I highly recommend it just for the quality alone! The great company and extras included are really a perk for me!

Perfect for Keeping Coffee Fresh
This is the only canister I use for my coffee beans. It's a beautiful canister that looks great sitting on my counter. I've purchased 3 canisters over the past 6 months - two of the large and 1 of the smaller. I have a large stainless steel and a smaller blue canister. I like them so much that I bought one for my sister, who is a very serious coffee drinker. She loves the canister as well. The canister has a calendar dial on top for keeping track and a permanent filter. The canisters are sturdy and seal tightly. I really love the stainless steel scoops that come with the canister. The large canister scoop comes with a longer handle. I highly recommend these canisters!

Awesome customer service! Cool accessories and works as advertised.
I am going to give this a five star review due to the AWESOME customer service! I had previously written a review and was a little disappointed with the actual canister. The canister functions as advertised. My coffee tastes and smells fresh even though I poured the grounds in it about two months ago. I always buy economy sized coffee bags. By the time I get to the last quarter of the bag, though I always squeeze the air out and clamp the bag securely, it does seem dryer and stale. I have been very pleased that my Coffee Gator has kept my coffee looking and tasting as fresh as when I poured it into the canister. I was also impressed with the little travel jar that it came with and the extra valves/filters. I still don’t care for the plastic lid, but over all, I would buy it again. Phil Williams was my customer service person (and creator of Coffee Gator) and he has kept in contact with me to make sure I am happy with my purchase and to amply rectify it if I was not. Thank you Phil and Coffee Gator!

Perfect
Well made, reasonably priced and perfect for storing my coffee. Don't see any need to buy one any more expensive than this one. I'm not sure if the vent in the top is really necessary, as the info I've researched on them says that is only needed immediately after roasting and/or grinding the beans. If you buy your coffee already ground, it might not make a difference. If you grind your own beans, then it might be something you would want. The only thing I can't figure out is the dial on the top that you should be able to turn to show the date of expiration of your coffee. I can't move my dial at all, but....that doesn't really matter to me because we use the contents so quickly. The latch seems sturdy and closes tightly. Holds a 12-16 oz bag of coffee easily.

Container cannot be properly cleaned because of CO2 valve
Container is good-looking and appears to be of good quality. However, the manual specifies that it should not be immersed in water for cleaning, because it would damage the CO2 valve in the lid! The CO2 valve as well as the date reminder associated with the valve, are both highly useless additions to this nice container. The manual recommends wiping with a damp cloth, which for me is completely unacceptable for an industrial product from China, intended for food storage. I would like to clean it thoroughly with water, soap and more water until I feel it is cleaned of any contaminants. I recommend that you do the same thing or find a different good quality container that is not equipped with the useless CO2 valve. I wonder how many people know the function of the CO2 valve? How many times have you heard of coffee containers blowing up because of CO2 accumulation ? So what do you need the valve for? UPDATED: I updated my report to five stars because of the extraordinary response from the supplier. I have also surveyed the market and there is nobody who makes a container of similar or better quality that does not have the CO2 valve. I would like to hope that as an option, manufacturers would produce the same high quality container without the the useless valve. In the meantime, if you already have the container, you can pop-out the valve, wash the container with water and soap, and pop the vale back in.

Does what it promises
I bought two of these to store my coffee beans. I buy my coffee from Costco and it comes in large bags, which necessitated buying two of these to accommodate the amount of coffee in the two bags. Before using these, I was using an old coffee container from Trader Joe's that was large enough to accommodate the coffee beans, but it didn't provide a good seal and the coffee didn't stay fresh. As a result, by the time I finished the coffee, the last half of it was getting stale and didn't taste as good. That is no longer the case with these coffee canisters from Coffee Gator. From the first batch of coffee beans to the last, they taste great and remain fresh. The canisters work, maintaining just the right conditions for the coffee. I'm slowly realizing that there are a lot of details to making a delicious tasting cup of coffee, from how you grind the coffee to the type of preparation. I now know that how you store the coffee matters, too. These containers from Coffee Gator work great for storing your coffee.

Beans and coffee smell and taste stale after one week-UPDATED
I don't understand what the problem is. The container looks like it's properly sealed, but it does not perform as advertised. I'm using a name brand coffee, and this container doesn't work as well maintaining freshness as the original coffee bag. Disappointed. Waste of money. Update: contacted the manufacturer and they suggested that I might have received a container with a defective co2 filter. I changed it with one of the replacement filters provided, and the beans have stayed fresh now for two weeks. So, if your beans or coffee become stale prematurely, try changing the filter. Updating my rating from one to five stars. Update2: have been using the canister for about four months now and it really keeps my ground coffee fresh. I grind a pound of beans once every two weeks, store the grounds in the canister, and keep it in a kitchen cabinet. You can smell the freshness each time you open the lid.

A quality investment
I bought this in combination with the Coffee Gator french press. Before, I was using pre-ground coffee, but I decided I wanted to start using whole bean and grind it myself to help keep freshness. For that purpose, I needed a sealed container to keep the beans longer. I came across Coffee Gator, and after browsing around for a while, I decided on this product. I have to say, just like their french press, I am impressed with this item. The powder finish gives it a nice look over regular stainless steel, and it comes with a 1/8 cup scoop which is about 2 tablespoons worth of coffee. I haven't kept coffee long enough yet to see if it holds freshness, but so far it does its job well. I don't have much experience with containers like this, but I read that the filter doesn't need to be changed, which is unusual apparently, but even if your filter does go bad, Coffee Gator provides you with a handful of replacement just in case. I really appreciated this addition, and I hope to not ever need to use them. Overall, I'd say this was a nice addition to my coffee collection and I plan to get a lot of use out of it in the future.

Attractive, seems sturdy
I've long wanted an attractive container for storing coffee on my counter top; digging a scoop into my 12-oz bag wasn't cutting it. I tend to research things for weeks before making a decision, and this was no exception. I chose this canister for its looks, size, and durability, and I am not disappointed.
