Makes quilting easier and faster

I love this mat. I had been looking at buying a rotating mat for along time. After reading the reviews of several different mats I decided on the Calibre. I was working on quilt blocks when I got this and started using the mat the same day. It turns very easily and the markings are easy to read. The rotary cutter seems to cut easier than it did on my flat mat. Some reviews said it had an odor,m but I didn't notice one and I am very sensitive to odors. I wish I had ordered this mat sooner. It does take some getting use to not having to move your block to square it up, but it is not the fault of the mat. I just needed to remind myself to turn the mat and not the quilt block. I highly recommend this mat.

I also like the 14 inch square size

I bought this mat to do a lot of trimming up if half square triangles. It works really well. When unpacking it, there was no initial odor which was a problem noted for other brands. The mat lies very close to the table even with the layer that permits the mat to turn. This is a big help for stability in cutting. I also like the 14 inch square size. It is large enough for most blocks and because it has little thickness to it, the edges do not become wobbly and unusable for cutting. The turning is very good and smooth. I have not had this mat for long so I cannot speak to its longevity. But for the use I have had so far, it is very good and worth the money

Works perfect

I am pretty new to quilting and saw someone using one of these in a YouTube video on a quilting tutorial, just had to get one, this thing is great, I’m using it to cut blocks that you need to cut several ways without moving the block, and for marking blocks, I’ve been using it pretty much since I’ve gotten it, makes cutting and marking so much easier, so glad I saw this, it turns very smoothly, this did have a funny odor when I first opened it but disappeared within a day and is no longer there, great quilting tool to add to my growing quilting tool set

A really well made product

I purchased this cutting mat for working on a particular quilt that required re-cutting already assembled blocks into 9 pieces. This rotating mat made the job so easy. It turns without much pressure but does not just rotate by itself. There was some odor when I first opened it, but it dissipated quickly. My engineer husband even thought it was pretty cool. I have not purchased any products made by this company (Calibre) before this purchase but will definitely check to find if they have other mats and templates I may need. A big bonus..... the price point can't be beat.

Fantastic Mat and a must have in my book

I love this mat! I'm still getting used to using my rulers and measurements and it is so helpful to not have to flip my fabric and re-align my ruler again and again. It's made my cutting accuracy better and safer since I'm not cutting in odd angles. The ruler on the mat if accurate and it self heals beautifully no cut marks are visible. Of course, you can flip and rotate without this mat, but sometimes its the little conveniences that are worth having and this mat is definitely something that is a must have.

Great cutting mat for crafting.

I really like this cutting mat which I use for sewing and paper crafts. The surface is smooth and although it rotates, it stays put when cutting. Of course, the reason I purchased this cutting mat it is because it rotates which makes cutting on it very convenient. I found the printed grids to be very useful for my cutting needs. I have several cutting mats and, by far, this is my favorite. I will buy another one in the future. I couldn't be happier with my Calibre Art Rotating Cutting Mat.

That it is not overly priced like its competitors.

This rotating mat is a perfect addition to my craft room. Specifically, with squaring-up my quilt blocks.... instead of having to realign the block several times to measure each side/angle, I just rotate the mat. It’s sturdy and well made. I am totally happy with my rotating mat and look forward to an easier time with measuring angles and degrees (clearly marked placement) for my next project!

Great rotating mat, fraction of the price!

Love it! Works just as well as the "name brand" cutting mats, at a fraction of the cost! Rotates nicely, nice grid layout, and doesn't have that strong chemical smell that some mats have. Would definitely buy another and recommend to other quilters.

Excellent Product

UPDATE: I found that if I place a recently (still hot) square of fabric onto this mat, it sort-of buckles a little. I was alarmed at first, but after the mat cooled down, it returned to it's original 'flatness'. I still love this mat. I borrowed my mom's 12" rotating Olfa. I liked it, but needed something larger, as my quilt blocks were 12 3/4" sq. I was hoping to buy a 14" by Olfa, but they don't make it that size (the 17" mat was too large for me). I stumbled onto this mat thru someone else's review on another product. The price was right, so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did. It's sturdy, well made, and feels made of quality materials. It's one piece, so it doesn't separate like the Olfa. The underside has a rubbery-foam like material attached that keeps the mat skid-free. The top part of the mat moves around easily, but deliberately, so it doesn't just start spinning as you cut. I'd be at a loss for finding a way to improve this product.
