Durable!
I have a 1 year old German shepherd, so she's strong and full of energy. I bought this while there was landscaping going on in the backyard, so she could go potty and not bother the workers. Well, when the neighbor dog came out, she got so excited that she sprinted towards her forgetting she was attached to this, and her collar basically exploded. I've never seen that happen before. The leash held up perfectly, her collar was destroyed though. So yes, this is a very strong leash. I'd buy it again!

Great chain!
Have had this for at least 3-4 months through a Pennsylvania winter where it’s gotten as cold as 15 degrees below freezing, then rains then snows, then gets icy and melts. I haven’t had any issues with rust or the chain or metal clip breaking. When it’s really cold out, sometimes the clip that attaches to my 60 lb pit bull freezes, so I use my hand to warm it up for a few seconds and it works just fine. This has happened with other clips in the past and isn’t really much of an issue. My dog is very strong and tries to chase after deer in the back yard and this chain still hasn’t budged. Definitely worth the money, and I would recommend this product to a friend. I included a photo of my dog giving a good shake, because pictures of other people’s dogs are the best part of reviews! Lol

so good. My dog is heavy enough (he outweighs me) ...
So far, so good. My dog is heavy enough (he outweighs me) to knock me down and drag me. This is a whole lot cheaper than some of the tie outs I have bought. They are wire coated with plastic and every where a nick or split occurs in the plastic coating, the wire that gives the leash its strength rusts and breaks. So I bought this one and hoped it was strong enough. First day outside, a neighbor's dog came in to my yard and since neither the dog or myself like this animal, he was quick to lunge at the dog-the leash was not snapped and my dog was stopped. Even if it eventally splits the plastic and rusts out and breaks, it is about half the cost of the last tie out!

Used to keep my 100lb rideback secure outside at parties
As loyal as my dog is, he'll run away the second he realizes he's free. Programmed into him for some reason. Because of this, I usually don't bring him outside for parties and what not when there's not a secure fence available. I wanted to bring him out to my brother's for the 4th of July this year (no fence) and decided to get this cable to keep him safe. Was surprised at the price for something so strong and 30 feet in length, but don't let that fool you - it is a solid cable. This is NOT going to break thanks to any dog (I'm sure it can handle well beyond a 125lb animal). The clips are very sturdy as well. I've had zero issues with this and will keep using it anytime I need to keep him safe outdoors.

Good tie out cable.
I love my new tie out for my dog.. The last one had out lived it’s life, in fact it broke. Not this make or model. Our dog some times runs to the end of the cable to “chase” what ever she imagines is in the yard. I can rest assured with this cable is not going to break for a long time because it is heavily coated in some sort of plastic so my dog won’t be wondering off. Great cable.

Excellent!
Have a 65-70 lb Bloodhound/Black lab mix who has more energy than a 50 gallon drum of bees, is about as dumb as a box of rocks, and is loved immensely. I tried to build one using expensive (local) hardware store bits and pieces, and it took him about two days to get free from it. After that I ordered this one, liking the fact that the wires were basically weatherproof from the coating on the braid/strands/whatever. Ordered it quite some time ago and it's been in rain, mud, etc since then and it's still in pretty darn good shape! There are a few spots where he managed to tie a knot in it and some of the silicone coating came off, starting to show rust.....but that was my(dogs) fault not mine. It gives him enough room to tease the neighbor dogs, and flatten down my nice grass i spend so long to cultivate a healthy growth. 30 feet is plenty, it's about 706 sq ft....78 sq yards 65 sq meters for those wondering. That's supposing there are no obstructions of course, and it's rough math. More than enough room for a dog to play, poop, and ponder outside......without having the mean neighbors call the cops on you. BUY IT, I WOULD/WILL BUY IT AGAIN SHOULD I NEED ANOTHER!!

WORKS GREAT !!
Been using the tie-out cables for a couple years now, with the heavy duty ground stake that comes with the XL 30ft/125 lb cable. THESE WORK GREAT FOR MY ACTIVE LAB. SINCE WE DON'T HAVE A FENCED YARD, THIS GIVES MY DOG A CHANCE TO RUN AROUND SEVERAL TIMES A DAY and she gets plenty of exercise. THE CABLE DOES WEAR OUT EVENTUALLY, EVERY FEW MONTHS OR SO...DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH THE DOG WEARS IT OUT. OUR YARD IS A ROCKY ONE, SO THE CABLE GETS WORN OUT PRETTY QUICKLY AND WHEN IT DOES, IT CAN BE DANGEROUS. BE SURE TO CHANGE OUT THE CABLE ONCE YOU SEE ANY SUBSTANTIAL WEAR, SO AS NOT TO GET SNAGGED ON IT. WHEN MY DOG WAS YOUNGER, THERE WERE A FEW TIMES SHE WOULD GET TANGLED IN THE CABLE. ONCE WHILE DETANGLING, I CUT MYSELF ON THE WORN-OUT CABLE, THE LITTLE METAL PIECES JUTTING OUT SHARPLY. AND THIS COULD HURT THE DOG, TOO!!! WOULD BE GREAT IF THE CABLE COULD LAST LONGER, BUT I AM RATHER SATISFIED - IT PERFORMS WELL and as long as you secure it properly and change it out then you shouldn't have issues. My dog never seems to get tangled up anymore and she seems to love running around with it...it doesn't hinder her much. Better than the bulky and heavy chain-link type of leash, although maybe that kind lasts much longer and saves money in the long run.

Holds up to our nut-ball pointer mix
We have a 72lb pointer mix who has destroyed a number of these cables. This one seems to be coated very thickly and has sturdy and durable hooks. The heavy steel cable is coated where it's crimped together so it doesn't scratch me like one I had previously owned. It's important to remember to untangle the cable if your doggy gets it looped. If it gets knotted and pulled tight, over time the cable coating will break and rust will eat through the steel cable. We had a less-study version before that rusted through and our dog ran after another dog and broke the cable in half! After that incident we learned our lesson and we're taking better care of this cable.
