First let me say that I have tried two of the other models of upgraded fuel caps here on Amazon and this one fits my 2016 Ram EcoDiesel perfectly (though, I hear there is variance in fuel filler neck diameter) and this one is easy to grab in order to remove it (unlike just about all the rest). This one is also very nice looking and has any excess weight removed. I first thought that the magnet was weak as it BARELY sticks on the inside surface of the fuel filler door. There must be a layer of plastic or aluminum over the magnetic steel in that particular place. The VERY FIRST TIME I used it, I had it stuck there and I bumped the filler door where I had stuck the cap, only enough to move the door an eighth of an inch and the cap fell to the concrete and took a chip out of that nice finish. LAME! SOOOO... don't be an idiot like me! Stick your cap to the fuel filler door HINGE, where it sticks like a champ! I'm not sure what would happen if you drove away with it stuck to the hinge; the wind may blow the door closed as you drive and hinge design may not allow enough space for the cap to stay. Not the cap designer/manufacturer's fault, either way. If you really want it to stick to the flat verticle surface on the inside of the filler door, you could epoxy another neodymium magnet to the inside of the fuel door so the two magnets will hold together. If you're going to do this, just make sure you orient the second magnet properly so that the poles want to stick to each other. ;-)

Fits great, probably unnecessary but it specifically says in the owners manual that if DEF gets in the fuel it could ruin your engine. So it's either rely on the seal inside the flap to be 100% leakproof and never ever spill any, or pay what is really a minuscule amount of money for cheap insurance to make sure it never happens. This is a great product I wish Ronin made some more engine dress up items for the cummins. I'd definitely buy them.

I found this cap when looking for other accessories for my 2017 Ram 2500 and I'm glad I did. I don't like how the fill system is designed on the Ram with the flapper sitting so far deep in the nozzle assembly. I was using the little red plastic plug that comes with the truck but that has no shot at lasting. It came in in a Manila padded envelop with 2 O-Rings. The one installed on the cap was a proper fit already but it was great that they gave you both just in case. In fact I got an email from the seller explaining to me the o-rings which was great as well. The magnet is strong it sticks to the fuel door hinge perfectly and the cap is nice and tight keeping any dreaded water or dust/debris out. Overall excellent product and support.

It Works

This is the second style I have purchased, and I like it better. I like the raised cage around the edge to grip the cap. Makes it easier to remove. The magnet works on the door hinge, but not the inside of the door because of the plastic. I like that they include the second ring. I felt that the installed ring was a little too tight, but the thinner ring works great. The previous style I tried was not magnetic, but used a rubber tether...it did not last very long.

Excellent cap with correct O-ring on 2016 Ram

This is much better than the cheesy plastic cap that came on my 2016 Ram 2500 Laramie Longhorn. It comes with two different sized O-rings. The thicker one was on the cap, but was too tight to fit, so I put the thinner one on and it is perfect. The magnet is very strong and holds onto the fuel door hinge tightly as seen in the pics. Should have got this months ago.

Fuel filler cap - Something I didn't know I needed on a 45k truck.

I have the Ram 2500. So i was torn between this cap and the one without the lifted portion, to allow easier removal. I went with this one bc I didn't want to have to struggle to remove the cap (after reading reviews for the other cap that seemed to be the main issue with it). Although, after taking this cap on and off I'm not sure the extra money I paid for this cap is really worth it, but then I haven't used the other cap and there wasn't a problem with either removing it or putting it on. During the winter when I'm wearing gloves I'm going to be extremely glad I bought this one and not the other one! (Just a thought if you live in a freezing climate). I also found it interesting that this cap came with a "thinner o-ring" in the package that wasn't mentioned on the add. I don't think it's needed and I would be afraid that the cap would fall out if I were to use it. It appears to fit snugly as is. That being said the cap itself appears to be well made and all one piece. I now don't have to worry about getting anything into the diesel tank that isn't supposed to be there, like when i'm filling the def and there's an over spray or washing the truck as I noticed that water did in fact get into the fuel filler compartment (which is what sent me on a search for something like this.) The magnet holds the cap firmly in place when removed. Very happy with my purchase. Doesn't appear that I will need to ever replace this item. (unless I lose it)

The cap fits snugly in the filler tube on my 2017 Ram 2500 with the Cummins. The magnet is sufficient enough to hold the cap on the fuel door. I attached a vinyl coated wire lanyard through the cap and the hole on the fuel door hinge. Now the chances of the cap falling off or me losing it are slim to none.

High quality with great features

It bothered me that my truck came without a fuel cap. After reading reviews on several different manufacturers out there, I decided on this one mostly because of the larger/taller grip area for easy removal. I am very happy with my new cap. It is very well made and even came with a second slightly larger o-ring in case the cap did not fit snugly in your particular nozzle. The magnet is also a great feature. It's a little pricey, but good quality things usually are.

This cap looks good, feels like high quality, and works really well. Easy to grip and you wont lose it because the magnet will stick it to your fuel door. That the cap... the customer service is even better! I must have misplaced the spare o-ring... these guys shipped it out immediately! Great service! I will look into their other products to see what else i might need for my truck or Jeep.

Easier to get your hand on and fits very well

This cap works much better than the other one I bought. Easier to get a hold of and it doesnt fit near as tight as the other one did. It stays in place..fits better..and easier to take of and put back on. Nothing worse than cutting fingers trying to get a more difficult cap off which happened to me. This cap has the same magnetic capability as the other one too. Won't be dissappointed with this one!
