Small and powerful

I love these! I know I saw a couple pictures indicating the size, but still didn't really grasp just how small they are. My only speaker experience so far is from over a decade ago, where in order to get two speakers that were 12 inches high to work, there also had to be a big black box on my desk. With these ones, I just stuck them right under my monitor behind the monitor stand, and they are completely out of the way but not obstructed at all. The sound quality seems great so far, and as I went over the top with LEDs for all my other peripherals, these fit right in. I don't like very loud TV/music, but I did turn them up pretty substantially just to see how it sounded, and it still sounds clear. The only con was a static coming from the speakers when I first connected them (and didn't have sound playing through them), but they were turned up MAX at the time. Lowering the volume to levels I can handle took care of the idle static.

Good, not distorted sound

Good, not distorted sound, even at highest volume setting from laptop. Since we just started to use them, no report on reliability. Easy to pack with laptop. High value for mid-teens price.

Updated: Only One Speaker Works

I was dying to get these! The shipping took about a day longer than expected (which honestly, was no big deal) but the real problem I have is that only one of the speakers work. I'm in dental school and I was planning on using these to listen to lectures so I could watch on my desktop (which doesn't have speakers installed) and type lecture outlines on my laptop. So I was really anxious to start using them. I've heard good things about their customer service so I'm going to contact them and I'll update this post if anything changes UPDATE: I'm an idiot. The cord wasn't plugged in all the way. On a side note, one of the speakers might have a short in it. When I move it it tends to cut out momentarily. Also, there is static when it is at a lower volume. The static is worse when I have my iphone's volume turned all the way up and the speaker turned down. So after playing around with it for a minute I found the sweet spot on my phone's volume and then I could use the speaker knob to adjust the volume. Customer service reached out to me before I sent them a message. Very great customer service. They helped me troubleshoot and informed me if we couldn't get it to work they would send out a replacement. Overall I am giving it a 5 star review for a product that meets my expectation and customer service that exceeded my expectations.

Great for Echo Dot

Speakers arrived promptly. They pack quite a sound for being so small. Just plugged in to an outlet and into my Echo Dot and bam great sound.

Awesome!

These speakers are fantastic for the price. They get nice and loud for such small speakers! The sound is crisp and clean. Sounds very much like I'm actually there, in the movie scene, or in the recording studio. They look awesome with the lights on the bottom. Gives the desk a very cool, tech-e look. Mine came packaged well, free of damage, and with plenty of bubble and plastic wrap for protection. I most certainly recommend these speakers.

Simply amazing!

These little speakers are simply awesome!! Love the blue lights that shine underneath! They are VERY loud for the size and the quality of the sound exceeded the price as well as my expectations . I use these speakers to watch movies on my computer by the way. You will not be disappointed!

Great Sound For Their Small Size

I purchased these speakers to use with a small, 20", flat screen "kitchen" TV. The speaker in that TV is very "tinny" and barely adequate in sound and that is typical for small flat-screen TVs. Even though I am only using that small TV as a "kitchen" TV, I wanted better sound than it was providing. This pair of "Arvicka" speakers exceeded my expectations. I wanted small speakers and I know I am NOT going to get "theater surround sound" with speakers this small but I was quite surprised at just how well this small set of speakers sound. They not only far exceed the quality of sound of the TV speaker, they actually sound GREAT to me even at increased volumes and just using the earphone jack on the TV. I also specifically chose these speakers because they are powered by a USB connection to my TV. That USB wired connection to the speakers is for POWER ONLY. The actual audio is then supplied by a 3.5mm plug from the speakers into the earphone jack on my TV. I will not be using the USB port on this "kitchen" TV so being able to use that USB port for power to these speakers is a big plus to me. These great little speakers power up with the TV power and sound great through the earphone jack connection. There are other external PC or TV speakers that can be powered with a "wall wart" type of "plug in" power supply but that would mean after turning on the TV, I would then also have to turn on the speakers. With these speakers, I have the volume set at about half way on the speakers and as they turn on with the TV, the earphone jack use mutes the "tinny sounding" speaker in the TV and still allows me to adjust the speaker volume with the TV remote. Larger speakers "may" sound better but for what I wanted to just improve the audio from this small TV, these speakers are far better than I expected. The blue glow LEDs in each of the speakers is a nice touch but I am glad these speakers provide a switch (on the back of the right side speaker) to turn those blue LEDs off. This does reduce the power needed at the USB port of the TV. I only wanted to improve the audio on my small TV and these two speakers are doing that very well and far better than I expected. For my use as speakers for BETTER audio on my small TV, these speakers sound perfect to me. Just realize that because of their size, you will not get booming bass but for their size, they deliver much better sound than I expected. I am very pleased and would recommend them.

I like my desktop to have an uncluttered zen

I was looking for specific characteristics, and this nailed ALL of them. I was nervous for the price ( incredibly cheap ), but now that they've proven themselves, the price only sweetens the deal. Here's what I was looking for: - SMALL. I like my desktop to have an uncluttered zen, and these babies are just more than the size of my fists. - AESTHETIC: I wanted a nice, modern looking speaker... no grids protecting the speaker or anything old school. That in combination with the soft blue led glow, and my desktop is looking very appealing. A nice place to relax after work. - SOUND: It's a tall order for small speakers to sound good. Now, this is a subjective thing, and I'm no audiophile, but I'm pleasantly impressed with what these can do. They fill my living room when I play some rock music on a sunny day, and they play my video game sounds well. - INEXPENSIVE: I just didn't want to pay very much. I like the efficiency of getting all of the above for less than $15. Here are the cons, which don't matter to me AT ALL. These might matter to others though: CONS: - Though they look modern and chic on the desktop, if you actually pick them up they feel like a cheap china-town trinket. That's not a slur, if you've been to China Town, Manhattan, you know what I mean. - They require both USB *and* aux cable to be plugged in. More sophisticated (expensive) products might only require USB, and register as a USB sound device on your system. Others might only require the aux cable, though they would be very quiet then. That's it. I've had these for weeks and it still puts me in a good mood every time I see them on my desk!

Good for 6 weeks and then buzzing, but iGotSmart sent a replacement. Great speakers

These seemed great at first - the sound quality was good (especially for the price) and the units are compact. Unfortunately, six weeks after using them, they developed a bad static/buzzing sound which was very annoying and distracting. With the best customer service on Amazon, the supplier, iGotSmart, replaced them even though it was past the return date. (They proactively contacted me when they saw my review!) The replacements are great. A fantastic speaker set for the price!

Great Speakers for use with Dell All-In-One Computer / TV

Very nice! Far better than the Dell All-In-One computer's internal speakers as the A-I-O also serves as a TV. These speakers connect to a rear edge USB port and the Audio Out jack so wiring is behind the A-I-O and thus out of sight, as are the speakers! You don't even know they are there until listening to them - and then you sure do!! As the power from the USB port to the speakers turns off when the computer is shut down, simply adjust the speaker's volume control knob once, and forget about it. This means the power on/off for the speakers is automatic. The speakers' audible output level is more than sufficient, and the tonal response is quite adequate in spite of the small size. Using the All-In-One's computer audio settings and equalizer really has these sounding quite good. With the FiOS Quantum cable box, Dell All-In-One, and these speakers out of sight, it makes for a rather aesthetic, compact, clean with no wires showing, double duty system on a kitchen desk - - and offers really great video and audio.
