Great Kayak Carrier
Well built kayak carrier which has relieved me of having to carry mine either by the side or over my head or dragging it along the ground when I have no one else to assist me. Quick assembly only requiring attaching the wheels which slide on and are held in place with easy snap open fastening pins. The supplied strap makes attachment of the craft to the carrier easy. It folds and fits in the back of my SUV without a problem. My only wish is that it was a little wider and that there were toggles as part of the carrier to run the strap through other than that I love it!

Great Product for less than half the money of most competitors
UPDATE: I've been able to use the cart 6 or 7 times now, and have made a few observations: 1. Bigger kayaks (like my Malibu Two) benefit from balancing the boat on the cart (attaching it near the center). 2. Bigger boats need a longer tie-down strap. Or, like me, using an anchor line with a trucker's hitch to secure it. 3. The cart drags a bit in soft sand - that said, I have SOFT sand and a heavy boat. 4. The cart works very well over hard packed dirt & gravel. 5. I haven't really figured out why it needs a kickstand - maybe smaller boats / boards will benefit from this. I had shopped around for a cart like this for a while, and when I saw the price on this I thought that quality might be an issue, but ordered it anyway since the price is so low. It arrived on time, and as other reviews noted, smelled like a whole tire store was jammed in the box. The cart stays in the garage anyway, so that's not a problem. As far as function goes, it does a great job of carrying my Malibu Two kayak (12'6" X 36", and 70lbs with gear). The supplied strap was far too short, so I just use a length of my anchor line with a truckers hitch to secure the 'yak to the cart. One hint for people not used to using these products - place the cart as close to center as you can, to help manage weight, and attached your strap / line to a tie down on the boat to keep the cart in place when rolling over soft sand. I take mine aboard when paddling in the harbor; just remove the wheels, fold the cart, and use a short length of line to secure to the boat.

strong, light, smelly, and cheap. I like it.
I bought this for a sunfish sailboat. As other have mentioned, the top of the carrier is relatively flat, so extra padding is required (in the form of zip-tied pipe insulation) if you have a highly contoured boat with a full length keel. For grins, I tried my ocean kayak and my wilderness systems kayak and both fit pretty well. This carrier holds the weight of the 150# sunfish just fine, it should be more than adequate for any kayak. The wheels are not very wide set, about two feet; so it tips easily with the sail boat. with a kayak, it doesn't tip badly. As others have mentioned, the rubber wheels stink really bad, its pretty funny. Just store it outside. As others have mentioned the included tie down strap is mediocre at best, and you really need two of them, because the carrier tends to roll out from underneath, tipping forward or backwards, with just the one tie down. They could improve the product by adding a place to attach tied downs (instead of the inexplicable, useless kickstand). Overall, for the price, its a great product. I'm thinking about getting another for my yaks. Oh, its pretty light too.

This is probably the best purchase I have made for my boating fun
I have used this over and over and over. A must for kayaking!! I can literally get anywhere with my kayak using this trolley. Prop it up on the ground, weave the strap through the bars, lay kayak on top, connect strap and tighten. Boom! You're off!! Literally all of ten seconds. I fold and then strap the trolley on to the front of my kayak so I don't have to make a trip back to my car. When I'm on land I unstrap it, unfold it, weave the strap, lay the kayak on it, connect the strap and BOOM. I'm off! This is probably the best purchase I have made for my boating fun. Get one! You won't be sorry. Oh, one tip that I practiced (and learned from reading feedback comments before purchase) - open this outside because the new tire smell is quite overwhelming. Leave it outside for a few days and the scent will fade. It's really well made, by the way.... quality and lightweight :)

Works great for my kayak!
This kayak dolly works great for my Old Town Dirigo 12.0 and Castine 14.0 kayaks. They both sit on the dolly with no problems once positioned correctly and when they're strapped down good they don't move. Set up is very fast and easy! The main reason I purchased this carrier is when either one of the kayaks are loaded with all my camping gear they are too heavy to portage for one person but with this dolly it is so much easier especially when going around dams in the river. It also fits inside both rear hatches unassembled on the kayaks or strapped down on the top deck with the bungee cords so there's no problem carrying it with me when camping. Happy kayaking!

Great cart, easy to use, loads easy.
I bought one of thes just to try it out before paying for two in case it wasn’t any good. Once I got it I placed my kayak on it and attempted to tie it down. It took me a second to figure out the best way to secure the kayak. Once I had it one there and was confident it wasn’t coming off I pulled it around my driveway. It felt good, easy to pull and felt secure. I started doing zigzags and it stayed on and didn’t even try to tip over. I went to purchase the second one but was disappointed to see they were out of stock. A couple of days later they were available again. Where we were kayaking at we could park close to the water and since our kayaks only weigh 48 lbs it would didn’t really need a cart. I would carry them down to the water while my wife carried the supplies. But we felt we should get carts in case we came across a situation where we couldn’t park close to the water. Well right after getting the second one we discovered a more secluded area to go kayaking. The only issue is the boat ramp is about 200 feet long and a steep angle. Well we brought out the carts and the worked like a charm. It is so easy carting the down the ramp and not to bad going back up. Much easier than if we had to carry them. Once we got in the water we just pulled the wheels off, stowed them in the back of the kayak, folded the cart and placed that on top of the wheels and off we went to enjoy a morning on the lake. I don’t understand the reviews that say this won’t carry a kayak or that it is hard to secure the kayak. We have two Perception Tribes 9.5 and it carries those just fine. I place the cart just before the seat so it’s fairly close to the center. I thought that might be too far forward and cause the back to drag while going down the steep incline but if anything it helped make the kayaks easier to pull. If I needed another one I wouldn’t hesitate on purchasing this again. Heck I already did. :)

Really happy
I read through a bunch of other reviews that detailed problems attaching the kayak carrier securely. I originally had the same problem with my Lifetime Tamarack 120 but was able to work around them. I used a ratchet strap and wrapped it around both sides of the non-moving axle. I then ran the ratchet strap through the two side handles of the kayak so it wouldn't slide forward or backwards. Once it was tightened down the carrier worked like a charm and I was able to roll the kayak a couple hundred yards without any issues. I would definitely recommend this carrier as a budget friendly way to get your kayak around.

Works EXCELLENT!
You have to wrap the strap around the front bar several times and then around your kayak, making sure it is fastened securely to something on your kayak, like a hand strap or some projection or the like. Otherwise, when hitting your first rock or sand bank or whatever, the kayak wants to keep going and leave the wheels behind. When all is secure, this thing works like a charm. I get dropped off at the Hammond Jetty, walk my kayak to the breakers section by the base of the jetty and Columbia River, and either play around in these breaks or else stow the wheels inside the toe of the kayak (Emotion Revere 10 -- plenty of room) and then ride the tide up river where I get out and walk home using this thing. TOO COOL! I have walked miles carrying my kayak and gear with this thing and it is no less comfortable than simply taking a walk holding a bag or briefcase in one hand. I go through sand dunes to gravel paths to sand paths to sidewalks to where ever.

Rubber smell not a deterrent.
Appears to function correctly as advertised. My low star rating emanates from the fact that the rubber used to make the tires has an extremely strong and lingering chemical smell, as if walking into a new auto tire dealer, enough to bag it and try to dispel the odor with baking soda. Wheels fit properly and the accompanying strap quite acceptable. Addendum: After actually using the product as intended, I wish to revise my earlier review and give this product the full five stars. It is light, simple, and surprisingly durable. Sure, the rubber smell is potent. Be sure to keep it out of your kitchen, shall we say. But for utility and applicability, this is a very good product. I put these wheels under the bow of my 23' Hawaiian racing canoe to wheel it down from 30' above the water down to the water's edge. The only failure occurred from my not having tightened the included strap sufficiently. BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Works well and is very easy to use
I don’t write a lot of reviews, but wanted to post one for this product because I’ve found it helpful and easy to use. I bought a ten foot long, two person Kayak recently. My big concern when I got the kayak was how I would get it to the lake on my own when I plan on going out by myself. It’s too big and heavy for me to put on top of the car alone. I ordered this kayak carrier and found that it works very well and couldn’t be easier to use. I just lift up the back end of the kayak, put the carrier underneath it (a few feet from the back end), attatch the strap, and I’m able to pull the kayak easily by its front handle. As heavy as the kayak is, it’s very easy to walk ten minutes to the lake pulling it behind me on this carrier.
