impressive quality, convenience, and compact!

I am really impressed with the quality of this item. I ordered it to use with my Windows Revolve Laptop that does not have a DVD/CD Drive for use. I wanted to be able to stream DVD movies on my laptop. The product came in ready to use condition. You simply remove the device, plug in 2 cables that use USB ports (One for connection and one for power, both INCLUDED) and you are ready to go! The cords are even long enough to where the device can be stored a bit away from your laptop for convenience. Very happy with it!

Great External CD/DVD Drive!

A great external CD/DVD Drive for our second laptop without a drive. We travel frequently and this helps us play our music and DVDs. I did a test and it burns CD's well. It fits easily in my briefcase and is a welcome addition to my travels.

Works like a built in DVD Drive.

Product does exactly as it should! My new laptop didn't come with a DVD Drive, which I think is the norm nowadays, and this USB device was a great substitute. It plays all my CDs and DVDs as if it was an internal device. I highly recommend it

Excellent Product and very good price.Just used this to produce a Blu Ray disc on my MacBook Pro using Blu Ray Creator.just need upload a PowerDVD to support blluray format. No problems and very good quality output. Plays back on my domestic blu ray player without any glitches, well pleased.

Works great

It works fine in windows, but my Linux laptop only allows me to read. This is not a problem for me with double boot and is only a problem with my installation of Linux.

Admittedly, I only used it to install software on my desktop as its optical drive is broken. But if you are looking for a optical drive that functions and will plug in to anything with a USB port, consider this an economical option.

Simple, cheap, slim

Basic as can be, but it does exactly what it says on the tin. I built a PC using the Corsair Bulldog case, which doesn't allow for an integrated optical drive. For a few extra bucks, however, this slim unit slides right underneath the tower (or set it on top of or beside - I've noted no issues using the drive vertically) and functions as well as any preinstalled drive that I have had in prior PCs.
