I should have bought one sooner
This is my first pizza stone and I regret not buying one sooner. It cooks the crust perfectly and really gives it that authentic wood fire oven taste. The stone is very thick and about 10 lbs but it's very manageable. You don't have to do anything to maintain it aside from maybe rinsing it when you first get it and scraping off any food that falls onto it. I leave it on the bottom rack in the oven and never take it out.Don't worry too much about cleaning the stone, the high heat kills any bacteria and any small bits left just add to the flavor. Treat this stone as though it were a cast iron pan. The lip is very helpful for moving pizzas on and off the stone. However the stone will be slightly cooler near the lip if you don't let it preheat for 40-45 minutes. You can preheat it for about 30 minutes and just make sure your pizza is a few inches away from the lip if you want perfectly even cooking.

It's not and it works like a charm
That little tab on the stone? Think it's a gimmick? It's not and it works like a charm. I've been making pizza for 30+ years on a square stone I purchased in NYC and lugged home. It's done a great job over the years and I still use it for some items. But, one of the most frustrating and common issues occurs when I attempt to center my raw pizza on the square stone, jerk the peel, and overshoot the darn thing. Watching my masterpiece kiss the back of the oven and leave one hell of a pizza print was not fun. The very first time I used my new stone, the tab worked perfectly and prevented the dreaded 'pizza slide' off the back. Very clever. This stone is heavy and well designed and I am surely going to enjoy it for years to come.

- The stopper makes it easy to use
This pizza stone is different from the rest, no doubt, so there are many aspects to take into account: PROS: - It’s heavier and thicker than other stones, so, for now, it seems to be much more resistant. I’ve already used it a few times and it shows no signs of cracking, but time will tell. - The stopper makes it easy to use, you can just shake your pizza onto it without worrying it will fall and get it on the peel quickly to take it out. - It retains heat amazingly well, so you only have to wait around 5 minutes between pizzas (Instructions say 10, but you don’t really have to wait that long) - Its bottom design does help the heat distribute evenly, so pizzas come out crunchy all over, even the center. - The size is very convenient for making large pizzas for many people, so I don’t have to spend all night in the kitchen and I get to enjoy my friends more. CONS: - It is indeed heavier, but the stopper and raised edges are useful on that department, giving you extra grasp. - Unlike metal pans, you can’t wash the stone with soap because it absorbs the aroma, so you have to pay special attention to that. All in all, it really is worth buying.

I’ve always been more on the pragmatic side and don’t like spending that much time in the kitchen
This is the first pizza stone that I’ve ever tried and I have to say it’s incredibly practical! Its size is ideal for making large pizzas for many people and its no spill stopper makes it easier to get my pizza out of the oven without pushing it out of the stone and onto the back of the oven. I’ve always been more on the pragmatic side and don’t like spending that much time in the kitchen, so I tried the stone with a frozen pizza. Normally, when I make them at home, the crust turns out a little soggy and soft, or I end up burning my pizzas trying to get the bread to toast. This time, my pizza was ready in record time and it was crunchier than ever!

Very nice stone, good for 'large size' pizza from Papa M's
I"ve done 4 take-and-bake pizzas since I received the stone...using my CampChef pellet grill on high. The bumper at the back of the stone works great to get the pizza on the peel. The varied thickness of the stone does seem to cook pizza more evenly too. The stone seems durable and I see no imperfections. The cookbook is part of the follow up email sent by the seller. The box the stone ships in only has an instruction flyer.

Works Great!
We've been very impressed with this pizza stone and it has definitely added another dimension to cooking pizza on our pellet grill! Provides a crispier crust without having to make any changes in the cooking process or risk burning the crust in an effort to do so. Easy to clean and care for and we're looking forward to using the stone to expand our baking "horizons" in the future by branching out into other types of food items! Highly recommended! And a great price and near instant delivery via Amazon!

Pleased with Purchase
I have used the stone twice and it performs well. The only problem is it is almost too large for my oven rack. I assumed ovens were standard sizes. I recommend measuring before purchasing the stone.

Awesome pizza stone!
I bought this for cooking pizza on my grill. It works wonderfully. So well that I bought another one and can cook two pizzas at a time. I did not experience any of the smells other reviewers mentioned. I’ve put my nose to the stone before heating and smelled nothing and then after cooking at 450F, and still no odd smell, just stone and nicely done pizza. It cooks very evenly and I highly recommend the product.

Stuck to the stone?
Taught my kids some new swear words the first time I used it. My beautiful looking pizza I made was a mess after transferring to the stone and then stuck, burnt and really ugly when I tried to get it back off the stone. After I had calmed down, told the kids not to talk like daddy, I sat down and read the instructions and watched a couple Love This Kitchen videos on YouTube. The following weekend I made the greatest pizza EVER! Few quick tips - 1) use corn meal on your stone just before putting the pizza on it. 2) make smaller pizzas 3) Make the pizza on the pizza peel (instead of trying to transfer it) WITH tons of corn meal so it slides off the peel on to your stone! delicious pizzas
I chose this pizza stone because I had tried the brand's silicone pot holders and they turned out to feel really sturdy and long-lasting. Now I couldn't be happier with it: the stone is thick, resistant to changes from hot to cold and large enouThe Ultimate Aluminum Pizza Peel. 14" Paddle with Non Stick Ceramic Coating, 10" Wood Handle.
