I've been afraid to try using a pressure cooker until now, but the T-fal cooker was recomended by a friend who has several pressure cookers. I love that this cooker is easy to use--there is no guess work. The seal is very sturdy, the correct positions are marked and the lid is easy to lock firmly onto the base. The pressure valve is also clearly marked and very easy to set. The instructions are clear about maximum fill levels and the minimum amount of liquid required for the cooker to work properly--and there are markings on the side of the cooker itself. Once the pressure was up and the steam began escaping through the pressure valve, I was very surprised at how little heat was required to keep the steam up. I was using the gas cooktop in the RV and started on full power (i.e., setting HI/10) as the directions suggested. I was able to reduce heat to medium low--setting 3 on my stove--and still had plenty of steam. I made a pot roast the first time I used my cooker and it turned out perfectly. I also love that the cooker is stainless steel and easy to clean. Although the lid must be washed by hand, the pot can be put in the dishwasher if you choose. (I wash mine by hand; it's quicker.) I did have a couple of concerns, initially. While the cooker is building up pressure, a very small amount of steam did escape from the top of the lid--but NOT from the places listed as emergency steam releases--that is, it came from around the handle locking mechanism. It was minor and stopped as soon as the pressure was up in the cooker, so it wasn't an issue. I strongly recommend turning the heat to low or medium low as soon as the pressure is up and the cooker starts to steam--it doesn't take much heat to keep the cooker going and keeping the heat too high will use up the liquid in the cooker too quickly. You can always raise the heat a little if the steam slows down. It also comes with a nice steaming basket, but I haven't tried that yet. Overall, this is an excellent pressure cooker.

I Just got THIS Pot And tried it out with just water. Its al high quality and don't see any complicated parts with the top unlike the instant pot. The Instant pot WILL have issues And i REGRET buying it. There is no need to fear the pressure cooker nowadays since they are much safer than before- especially this one. Update: I have already tried it with food. First with black beans with the instant pot its 18min. In the recipe that comes with Clipso it's 15 min ( cooking time) who is wrong (it will come out undercooked). It's still 18 minutes of cooking time but if u had not soaked it pre cook it for 3 minutes in the pressure cooker and let it sit in the pot for a few min. Then put in the condiments with more water. It came out very good and flavorful. There ARE NO COMPLICATED PARTS. This pot is so simple in its construction that you can take it apart and put it back together( I'm not suggesting you do that and u may void the warranty!) I highly recommend this Pot. You won't regret it.

I wanted a pressure cooker for years. Finally, broke down and got one and have been extremely happy with the T-fal Clipso Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker. Nothing bad to say about this one. It's easy to use, easy to clean, and incredibly durable. I use it at least once a week. Meals that once took hours to make, I can now do when I get home from work! Braised short ribs, pot roast, pulled pork, stews, and more! I've had the Clipso for over two months now and the more I use it, the more I love it!

My wife and I love this cooker. It's a standard pressure canner, not much different from any other pressure canner out there, just a bit cheaper compared to other makes. My favorite feature is that you don't need to use the little metal vent weight with this, it's just a turn of the dial. Switching from water bath to pressure canning has allowed us to expand the foods we preserve... we now can our left over marina sauces and chili. I know they say you're not supposed to use this on flattop stoves, but we have been using it on ours with no cracks or scratches. If you buy this, which I recommend over other makes, just follow the directions for cooking times and PSI and you will be on your way to stores of food.

I purchased this T-Fal Pressure Cooker about 14 months ago. I'm a busy single realtor and was looking for a cooker that is well built, dependable with fewer potential parts and no electronics. I am VERY happy with this cooker. Today I made an excellent lentil soup. With the unit nearly filled to the limit line it took about 10 minutes to come up to steam on high pressure setting. I know to set my stove timer for 10 minutes and am reminded when I hear the stove beeper that the cooker is there, or just about up to steam. Then I simply turn the stove top setting to Medium Low (about 3 on my stove) and set my stove timer again for about 18 minutes (for my lentil soup). Once my stove beeper sounds the alarm again, I simply leave the pressure cooker right where it is on the hot burner and turn the burner off. After about half an hour I carefully turn the 'pressure setting valve' to low and if no pressure exists at that setting, I'll turn the setting all the way down. If there is no pressure, then I can easily open the cooker. If there is still pressure then I turn the pressure setting valve to the next higher setting and give it another 5 or so minutes to cool. Once the pressure is completely relieved, then it's completely safe to open. Honestly, this is the BEST (and quickest) way to cook just about anything. By the way, if you're cooking meat, you can brown your meat just as you would in any frying pan. I'd rather cook in Stainless steel than any other material. Highly recommended!

Like many other reviewers on here my pressure cooker setting ring was not calibrated to the advertised 5/10/15psi settings when I got it. It was more like 3.5/8.5/13.5. I want 15psi and many of you do too. The problem is that the spring in the setting ring is a little under-powered. I have full instructions below, but TLDR, take the string out and stretch it a little bit to raise the settings up to what you want. The more you stretch the spring the harder it will push on the valve and will let the steam out on a higher setting. !!! Note of caution !!! If you do this and stretch the string out too much the pressure setting ring could be set to something higher than the pot is rated for. Hopefully the two other safety features will kick in and maybe you won't get hurt or anything, just be careful. ---- Step by Step Instructions ---- 1. Remove the pressure setting ring: Press down on the pressure setting ring all the way and turn it past the full exhaust setting, it should pop out of the lid. 2. Expose the tabs: Pull the red ring all the way down to expose two big holes on opposite sides of the large back piece. (See Picture) 3. Remove the small black piece: At the top of the two large holes there are two tab/clips that hold the small black piece in. You can pop the tab/clips out with your fingernail. After both clips are out the small black piece will shoot out revealing the spring. 4. Elongate spring: Note the current length of the spring with no pressure on it. Carefully pull it until the point where it is a bit longer when it has no pressure on it. The longer it is when it has no pressure on it, the higher your pressure settings will be. 5. Reassemble: Put everything back together. Cheers, Nathan

I bought this for my mom to replace one that she purchased in Korea decades ago. She prefers pressure cookers to cook rice (she claims it has a better bite to it) so when her ancient one no longer functioned properly, I decided to purchase this for her based on all the positive reviews here. She was initially hesitant on this product however it ended up meeting and exceeding all her expectations. So much that she raved to several of her friends in her group whom many of them asked for the link and purchased one themselves. Now, where’s my commission, Amazon? ;)

I got this cooker for my daughter who lives in Jamaica WI so I personally won't be using it but my friend has one for a few yrs now and he loves it....excellent piece of a powerhouse easy to use beautiful stainless steel not heavy like led but like WELL MADE DURABLE heavy..... I love how easy the top locks and open love that its safe I love it and my daughter will too 100%reccommended absolutely love the two handles on either sides don't like one long handle sticking out

THIS THING IS HUGE, but it does the job well. Just put some extra water in, because you do get steam escaping from the valve when it reaches pressure (this is supposed to happen; it keeps it from exploding). Once the steam starts coming out, that's your cue to lower the heat. The gauge is nice too. That way if you turn the heat too low, you can tell that the pressure is dropping before you want it to.

This product is excellent for mycology for the price. You NEED the pressure guage to tell if your mushroom substrate is up to temp. Some of you say, "this cooker/canner cannot reach the proper temp". The designer had a brain!!! T-fal had a BETTER IDEA! They have a realitively NOISELESS canner. IT DOES NOT HAVE A NOISY JIGGLER!!!!!!! When the guage hits14-14.5 you are up to temp... The 3 level setting device will click a few times and that is it. (Maybe 15-30 times) After a few clicks it is Realitively noisless! It will NOT click after it is up to temp but will only release water vapor. On HIGH temp stove setting it will hiss but not click. Turn it DOWN to medium and make sure the guage goes back up to just under 15 PSI. Lower the temp and the hiss goes away but make sure it goes near 15 PSI again.. None of the cookers reach 15 PSI THIS IS NORMAL for european cooker/canners! Adjusted correctly is NO CLICKING OR JIGGLE SOUND and NO LOUD HISS... Set properly on my stove is 2 lines above LO plus 1/8 th inch and stays just under 15 PSI. AWESOME DESIGN T-fal. I had a large ALL AMERICAN before this and for the price you can NOT beat it. NO JIGGLE, JIGGLE, JIGGLE, sound keeping you awake at night with T-fal while your substrate is cooking. Noisless and nice for sleeping at night and Taller than many canners. Great for those extra large myco bags. GO T-fal Nice Gooker. VERY USER FRIENDLY! Learn how to use this product and you will NEVER even think about returning it as "Deffective".
