It suited my purpose perfectly. One side (marked with red sleeve) is power only. The other is power and data, that works like a normal USB cable.

This product works well for my application. I use it to charge an iPhone and power a radar detector in my car. I haven’t used it on a PC, so I can’t comment on that. Make sure you read the instructions. Use the port WITHOUT the red band for your phone. Otherwise, your vehicle will probably not recognize it for USB use. One time the device stopped working until I shut off the car and let it sit for a bit. It seems to have a capacitor in it or something that retains a charge for a little bit when you shut off the power source. My radar detector will stay on for a few minutes after shutting down the car. I’m not sure if that isn’t part of what made it stop working that one time. Hope this helps you make a choice.

I use this as a charging cable to power two devices from one usb port and it works great. This cable will only transmit data from one of the connectors as described by the seller. Other reviewers should not rate a product down just because they did not read the product description. It's like blaming McDonalds for serving you meat when you are a vegetarian and did not read the menu.

I wanted a solution where I could power both a chromecast 2nd gen and an LED backlighting strip on my tv. My previous attempt of trying to run a USB extension cable behind my wall wasn't working - that ran into a surge strip via 2amp usb charger. I found the Chromecast would reboot frequently. After seeing others with this issue, it seemed to be power-related (and probably a poor usb extension cable on my part. After reading other reviews about powering the chromecast and other devices, I figure I'd give it a shot for $6. I plugged the backlighting into the red port and the chromecast into the other. Plugged usb into the tv, and since then, no more chromecast reboots. It's simple, and saves energy, as the chromecast and LED light strips are only on when the tv is on. Great product - will buy more and recommend for other tvs and to others who have my same setup.

I use it to run my GPS and Cellphone from a single 2A charge port in my car. It works well and keeps both devices charged up. the connectors are smooth and tight, as they should be. Highly recommended.

Just what I needed. I purchased the splitter to run two sets of LED light strings off of one battery. It does the trick. Great price and quick delivery.

I got the simple splitter to run two 15ft drops in the living room for a 12v LED lighting system. This is the second splitter I have gotten from them, the other is running off the battery bank in the kitchen. Both work great and I would not hesitate to order another splitter. Get off the grid before the grid leaves you in the dark. Have a backup plan people!! Eyes Open - No Fear.

UPDATE: While this product did not work, I must commend the seller for exceptional customer service to make sure I was a satisfied customer. The seller sent me a replacement item ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06X9TMTMQ ) AT NO COST. The replacement item was actually an upgrade over this item. I recommend this seller! He went above and beyond Did not work. One side worked fine the other not at all. No data. No charge. Tried several different sources and several different cords and items to charge all with the same results. Return.

This splitter allows me to use my Tesla Model 3's built in dash cam (which requires a USB thumb drive) along with the phone charging port.

Honestly I was skeptical to buy this cable for my Model 3 since there is nothing else like it and there were negative reviews in the past. However for the price I'd pay, I took a chance and not only did the seller reach out for support in case I need it but also delivered as far as the cable and its reliability. The cable has been functional to support data transfer for the recording of front facing camera.
