I’ve been meaning to change the recliner cable on our reclining love-seat for the past two years now. (The original wire snapped, It was my side so it wasn’t a rush). BUT if I had known it was this easy to replace I would have done this a long time ago. Just match the picture of the part to yours (mine was the same oval shape and same length). The video in the description was a fantastic, helpful instructional video, it only took me five minutes to take out the old cable and put this one in. It’s been working great for a few months now. Seems nice and sturdy. I recommend!

This was an easy fix for the broken lever of our 9-yr-old recliner sofa. My husband and I were able to install this new part quite easily and enjoy our sofa again. It was a fraction of what a new sofa would have cost. If we were able to do-it-ourselves, I think almost anyone could. I did need my husband's help turning the sofa upside down, but the actual installment was pretty straight forward, & there's always YouTube for following step by step instructions!

I bought some off-brand furniture and like many others, have found that the plastic recliner handle breaks over time. I purchased this replacement part (after finding the right size and handle shape - look carefully). This one is all metal and works perfectly. Some others said they had to drill holes - mine came with 2 sets of holes, presumably because different furniture places the screws in a variety of places. The replacement was simple. Just unscrew, remove the old handle, attach the cable to the new handle and screw in. Some word of advice - 1) when removing the handle, not the angle of the screws. It's difficult to see the holes when you screw it back in - the fabric blocks them so if you know how they came out, you'll have no issue screwing back in. 2) Once you release the cable from the old handle, DON'T LET IT GO - it will pull itself into the arm and you'll have a heck of a time getting it out. My replacement handle came with a cable attached - remove it before you try to replace the handle. Also - there is a small wire clip holding the cable to the handle - easy to miss - remove that before you pull the cable loose. Otherwise - it's an easy replacement. The new handle seems to work more smoothly than the old!

I just recived this cable 15 minutes ago and am already done with the installation. What would have cost me at least $80.00 in a service call took10 minutes! My cable broke on the original 3 days ago so i had to manually reach underneath and push the lever, in the process scratched the hell out of my arm on a staple. Went right to amazon and found the part needed in about 2 minutes. Thanks guys for making a product that is even better than the original with the metal handle. Just be sure to know what type you have as instructed on product description and you wont be disappointed. I am in no way shape or form being compensated for this review, just a happy camper!

Glad hubby researched and found a replacement for the plastic handle on my recliner. I was ready to purchase another recliner and now there’s no need to spend that money. Easy removal of old handle and installation of replacement via YouTube instructions. This handle is sturdier that the original in pictures. Whew!

Worked as advertised. The $25 dollar part I tried from a local supplier did not work. This one did for less than half the price. Although the total cable length was a bit longer than the one I removed, the critical measurement-- clip to end-- was the same, and so I knew it would be a suitable replacement. The installation would have been simple if only I could have got the screw holes to line up, I couldn't, and had to drill one new one, but that was not a big deal. Keep the old screws, since this kit did not come with new ones.

My recliner stopped reclining even though the pull handle didn't break. It just didn't move the reclining mechanism. After I took it off I saw that the cable had shredded. I bought this (new metal pull & cable) and used the youtube tutorial for Sofa Rehab and it worked! I am mechanically challenged and was able to do it. Easy- peasy.

6 year old recliner from Rooms to Go with broken cable. This product worked like a charm, however no instructions came with it. My original cable snapped and the end with the S hook was on the ground under the chair. Didn't have a clue how a recliner worked or where the new cable and S hook connected. Read some of the reviews to get tips! Searched the web and pulled up videos showing everything you need to know. The removal of the old cable and handle, and the installation of the new part took less than ten mins, and would have been cut in half if I'd used my rechargeable drill to remove/install the handle screws. This is a repair that a middle school student could easily complete. I used needle nose pliers and a philips screw driver. If you run into difficulties, call your local middle school.......😄

I tried to relax after a hard day at work, and when I went to recline the cable in my chair broke. Not familiar at all I went to a couple of YouTube videos to see if I can repair my chair instead of spending a ridiculous amount of money. I am glad I did. I am not sure which video I watched, I watched a few, but one said to take 3 measurements of your cable once you remove it. I am glad I did that. This product was the exact one I needed. It took me a total of 10 minutes to install and BOOM now I can go back to relaxing as before. This product arrived quickly, exactly as described, and is sturdy.

We have had so much trouble with our Bob's Discount Furniture Recliner Sofa. The latest issue was the recliner cable snapped at the pull lever. After doing some searching, it quickly became evident that measuring the old cable was going to be important. I flipped the sofa on it's back and removed the cable. I took a picture of the mechanism so that I would know where to attach the replacement. The red arrows point to two important features. Be sure your replacement cable has a clip and hook that matches the one you are replacing. Mine had a Z hook at the end and a plastic retaining clip that matches this product exactly. Even the metal lever and housing were the same. SCORE! Removing the old cable and lever was easy. Installing the new set was simple. Just follow the same steps in reverse. So far, this replacement lever and cable work great. I don't foresee any problems. If I do, I will update this review. I just wanted to post this to tell folks to please measure your original hardware before ordering. Doing so made for an easy transaction. I am very pleased with the result.
