Excellent heft and balance. Awesome cutting device

I bought this cleaver and had it for more than a month. Had used it quite a few times and find myself enjoying using it. Mostly I use it to slice vegetables and it did an excellent job. I was able to make very thin slices of Roma tomatoes to serve with hamburgers I was making. It slices onions with no problems. This cleaver has excellent weight and balance. So far it has kept its sharpness. It has become my go to knife!

Small family owned company that puts quality first.

This is the last knife in the Comfort Pro category that I needed to complete my collection. All the other Zelite Infinity knives I own made this decision a snap. Beautiful appearance, good heft and balance, sharp as a razor, and made from a steel and heat treat spec that is recognizable to nearly anyone in the die-making and mold-making trades. Not just some marketing name of unknown composition. This is brand-name, high-quality steel. I am looking forward to many years of using this knife. As an aside, I have owned a lot of the competitors over the years. As for the purchase experience, it was smooth all the way. Great communication from the seller. I would definitely buy from this seller again.

pinch gripping a sharp veg cleaver

First, I dislike the name branding on the handle, but I wanted something with a generous palm swell, so I thought I would forego the aesthetic give this a try. The shipping was on-time and packaging is nice--gift worthy. The fit and finish is good, and out of the box, SHARP, as sharp as any kitchen knife needs to be. This is my first Santoku, so not sure what to expect. This knife is heavy, especially the handle, which pushes the weight to the rear, which I do not mind as the heft feels good in my hand. I find the blade is a bit swallow for my preference, as my knuckles hit the cutting board when I use a full grip--a pinch grip across the spine seems to be only way I can use this knife, and that is somewhat limiting. With all that, customer service was excellent, and they earned the 5 star rating. This knife is in my block, and has been delegated as my veg cleaver.

I've been using this knife almost every day for about a month and I couldn't be happier. I like the feel of the handle, the weight, the balance, and the appearance. Even the packaging was done with quality. It has been holding its edge well with daily use cutting peppers, tomatoes, carrots and more. I only wish it had come with a protect sleeve, which I ended up buying separately. I will probably buy some more knives from this company in the near future.

The Cleaver Knife arrived in a conveniently sized box with which to store the knife if you do not have a block with room for such a blade. You know how, in a flip way, you can generally tell a quality product by the overall weight and balance once it’s in your hand? This has that; very comfortable and manageable. Not only is it well-balanced regarding overall manufacturing balance-points but the dynamic balance, the most important component, is also excellent. This relates to the ease of operation when cutting and butchering meats and bone or methodically chopping hard root vegetables. It is weighted and balanced in order for the tool to do the work. This is of course aided by its sharpness. It is laser-like right out of the box and cut in such a way that sharpening is easy. I use a stone so your mileage may vary regarding re-sharpening but it’s been put through its paces quite a bit in its first week and is still very sharp without need for re-honing as of yet. I had been working with a unique hand-me-down which I became very accustomed to and reluctantly had to hand back so I was skeptical of finding something I would enjoy working with. Although it hasn’t been in my possession very long I am very satisfied with its performance and can tell it will be a go-to tool in my kitchen. I recommend this Cleaver Knife without hesitation. Based on this knife, this company has stirred my interest in their 8 and 10 inch chef’s knives even though I don’t need one right now. Overall an exceptionally made knife and quite useful for any busy kitchen or home cook.

A Beautiful Knife in Impressive Packaging

I had never heard of this company before, but I liked the look of the knife, the fact that it is made with German steel, and the price was right... so I bought it. As it turns out, this is one of the most beautiful knives in my collection of Wustof, Shun, and Zwilling cutlery. It has a nice heft, feels very good in the hand, is well balanced, and very sharp. I was impressed with this company before I even opened the box because it was the most elaborate, well-made retail knife box I had ever seen. It shows pure "class" and a commitment to quality on the part of the company when they are willing to put as much effort into packaging & display as they do in manufacturing their knives. I will definitely be on the lookout for more deals from Zelite.

Received dirty, possibly used knife...yuck... [UPDATED]

Not too happy about receiving a potentially used and dirty re-boxed knife that I paid top-dollar for. UPDATE 5/2/2018 : Zelite makes an excellent cleaver and the customer service is top-notch! I had posted a 1-star review earlier due to receiving a used and dirty knife. Within a day of posting my Amazon review, the manufacturer (Customer Service Manager Sam) reached out to me by email to clarify the situation. Apparently returned items to Amazon (for example the used cleaver I received) are supposed to be boxed and sent back to the manufacturer; however, it appears that Amazon had re-boxed the used cleaver then sent it out to fulfill a new order. Apologetic, the manufacturer offered to : A). Refund the cost of the cleaver 100% and allow me to keep the cleaver that was sent to me in error; B). Replace the used cleaver with a brand new one at no additional cost. The cleaver appears very well made, and the customer service and response time is top tier! They certainly turned around a regrettable situation, and have satisfied me with both their excellent product and customer-first attitude! Highly recommend!

This is a KNIFE!

Quoting Crocodile Dundee "that's not a noif ... this is a NOIF!!). Even my neighbor was impressed by the quality and ... PRICE. I got it to slice bread from the new bread maker I just got my wife. Just tried it - very performant. I know it is a bread knife but it has the heft and balance of something I could use to cut sheet metal or steel bolts if necessary :-) High quality product.
