Works great for semi hydro. Put my orchids in it, a peppermint plant, and pothos cuttings. All are doing well. Pro tip: poke 3-4 holes in the bottom of the bag then open the top of the bag and run water through till it’s clear. There is a LOT of dust on these, and better to get a base rinse in the bag. Am looking about using the pellets in an aquarium set up.

I have bought Hydroton pellets from other companies and this has surpassed them by far. The biggest thing I was impressed with is the small amount of dust I had to rinse off. Im using for my semi-hydro system I am using on my orchids and they are doing great in this medium.

I wish I would have bought hydroton when I first started setting up bio active tanks for my reptiles and amphibians last year. I've been using hydroballs and I've bought tons of bags for my tanks and have been disappointed with every bag. Their called hydroballs, they are suppose to be round but instead you get a ton of oddly shaped pieces and tons of broken pieces in every bag. It got really annoying picking out tons of broken and oddly shaped pieces everytime. So I needed to set up more of my tanks bioactive, so I bought the 10L bag of hydroton. I must say I'm impressed. First off I noticed that as far as weight, these are lighter than hydroballs. The bag i got was equal to about 4 bags of hydroballs, I was expecting the package to be heavy but to my surprise it was light. For the most part all the pieces are perfectly round and even the few that weren't, were not super oddly shaped like hydroballs. And there were only a very small amount of broken pieces. The quality is so much better and they look so much nicer than hydroballs. I highly recommend this product.

Great product! Washed the pebbles and put my orchids in hydroponics. Within 3 days I see an improvement in roots (many were rotting in the previous bark). I have already ordered the second bag.

Excellent! There is nothing else that needs to be said. Buy with confidence. Five stars! As a side note be sure to rinse everything well. Preferably outside. It can be really messy inside. I won't make the same mistake twice LOL

The absolute best I've had. Fantastic product. Others has a lot of broken and misshapened beads. While all have some, this product has very little. I suggest soaking them in water or at least rinsing before using bc of dust you don't want don't want to breath. Great for semi-hydroponics and self watering systems. I'm using it for orchids in a self-watering system. UPDATE: This is the 2nd bag I've bought. I'm extremely pleased with the product. It's a learning curve of going from bark medium to and inorganic one but well worth it! Especially the long term low cost. Even after using it on one orchid there's no reason to through it out. Just boil it for 10min let it cool and it's good to go again for the next orchid.

Seem to be just fine. We didn't want to take a chance on not well known brands. I rinsed them twice to get out the dust, and it is all well now. I don't think a company get it to you with no dust because when you move around and ship the bag it will start to make some dust. So people should not complain about dust.

Love this product for my Hoya plants and also orchids. I like the way they look, and best of all, no more root rot!! I mostly use clay pots and saucers, but others work too. You just have to soak the hydroton for 20 minutes or so before using and it will wick water up to the roots of the plant from a reservoir (like a saucer) that is always kept full under the pot. The roots will grow down to find the water! When I want less work or I'm going away, I use one huge clay saucer that many pots (w/ hydroton in the bottom of plants) will fit on and fill it with water. Before hydroton I couldn't water while I was away!

All our orchids (8) have been transitioned to semi-hydroponic media & this Leca is great! Not uniform in size, large and small beads, which we want. Some sink, some float, which is fine — we place the floating beads in our glass container first, then the heavy beads that sink, to hold them down. Here was our prep: 1. Soaked in water overnight. 2. All dust settled at bottom, so scooped out leca. 3. Rinsed in colander and soaked again overnight. 4. Scooped out leca again. 5. Boiled in pasta pot for 15 minutes. 6. Cooled and soaked in orchid fertilizer solution for 24 hours. 7. Placed orchids in glass container with leca. 8. All our orchids are now blooming again!

Love this product. Every pebble is round and smooth. Hardly any broken pieces, or irregular shape.price is right. Love it . Will buy it again after I done with this 25L bag.
