It was pretty easy to install. Like some other reviewers, I didn't push the blue tube into the filter mount hard enough, and water sprayed everywhere at first. Once I applied more force and secured the supply tube, it worked. I'm filtering mildly metal-tasting Florida well water. I side-by-side taste tested this filter's water with unfiltered well water, and almost gagged at the unfiltered metallic aroma. I side-by-side taste tested the water from this filter and my refrigerator's Filltrete water filter, and the taste is identical. My house's pipes are older, and the overall pressure is less than city water. I filled a gallon jug from the faucet without the filter in 50 seconds. After installation, the gallon jug filled in 50 seconds. A week after installation, the gallon jug fills in 58 seconds. I'll update this review if time proves that I've got to replace this filter too often because of my crummy water. The attached photo shows my installation. The large hole in the cabinet and plaster was made 30+ years ago when the house was last plumbed and not related to the installation of this filter. I had recently replaced the supply lines while installing a new faucet. The curious location of the lines on the side of a cabinet let me install the filter to the front of the cabinet, making future filter replacement easier. Please excuse the previous owner's decision to put vinyl flooring at the bottom of a kitchen cabinet. Derp.

Got this to change out the basic filter that came with the kit. Website says they are all interchangeable...sort of. This one is MUCH longer, so you need some extra room under the bracket. I had just enough. Box says no need to shut off the water...true if you don't mind a little spray. Just a little, but not zero. Keep a towel handy. Twist, out with the old, twist, in with the new. Easy peasy. On to the taste testing. BUT WAIT!! Gotta let ten gallons run through...trust me, this is important. After following the directions, water snobs in the house report this is as good if not better than the water in the fridge door (Gucci built in filter) and basic bottled water from Wal Mart. Can't tell the difference, and biggest improvement is in chlorine...can't taste/smell it any more. So what's the downside? Flow rate. Definitely lower. Box claims 1.5 gpm, like others have posted, likely optimistic. Sure, totally depends on your local water pressure, but a quick before/after test...I got just over 1.5 gpm with the old one, just under 1.0 gpm on this one (1' 5" to fill the 1 gal iced tea pitcher). Not a show stopper but definitely slower and not 1.5 gpm. Not a problem for a glass of water, but if you're filling your sink, be patient. Just had to cut the old one open for a peek...sure enough, I recommend sticking with the 6 month interval. My old one was about a year, and the paper element inside was crumbling. Won't get through the mesh/screen, but scary nonetheless. Carbon pellets are very coarse, no risk of those escaping, but the thought of drinking disintegrating paper pulp...not appetizing. Mark your calendar and stick with 6 months! Bottom line, exactly what we needed, works great, no brainer "upgrade" from the basic. Happy Filtering!

Installation really is that easy. The unit is much larger than a fridge filter, and I had a little difficulty getting a drill under the sink an around the disposal, but the supplied plastic tubing is quite long, so you can arrange as convenient. I also noticed that they're shipping with legris push fit connectors. You can either get similar connectors or the same brand for alternate connections. I also plan on installing one in the basement to the refrigerator feed line. This comes with 3/8 lines and 3/8 push fit connections. If you have a 1/4 inch plastic tube to the fridge, you can get a 3/8-1/4 push fit union and just spice it into the plastic line without undoing any of the existing attachments. Super easy. Will be nice to have a higher quality, higher capacity fridge than the one the fridge shipped with. The fridge has a bypass, so I can just toss the old filter and filter it before it even reaches the machine.

I've just finished installing it, which was very easy. We had copper pipes coming from the under sink shutoff, which is not compatible, so a quick trip to the store and a $5 flexible hose later, I finished the installation in about 15 minutes. The instructions tell you to run the system for 5 mins before initial use. Take this time to properly adjust the pressure of the shutoff valve so it's EXACTLY on what can come out of the spigot. Over-pressuring the system will eventually lead to failures and possible leaks! So after being thoroughly fed up with failing on-faucet filters and leaking refrigerator ones (the latter of which leaked behind the fridge, went into the basement, and destroyed an antique cabinet), I think having this unit at our wetbar will fix all of our issues. Realize that putting this on your kitchen sink will drastically lower the lifespan of the filters. This isn't meant for washing dishes, it's meant for your drinking water, filling pots and ice cube trays, etc.

The item itself works as described; however, if you are ordering from AMAZON LLC, which is where all of mine came from, then check the item immediately. I had mine switched from the GOLD lettering to GREEN which is a lesser product but I was charged for the GOLD. Since I usually keep an extra one for my future 6 month exchange under the sink, it was too late for me to say anything to Amazon when I actually did change it, so I am saying it to the consumers who are reading this. Good product bad QA on behalf of Amazon LLC.

Very satisfied with this filter system. I had some trouble getting it installed, but I think that was more me than the system. The only difficulty I had was in attaching the water input line to my actual water hose. After about 15 minutes of fiddling I got it on. Now that it is installed I can't say enough about how convenient it is. I like to cook things like spaghetti in filtered water, and with this system I'm not constantly using up all my filtered drinking water! If you're considering an under the sink water filter and fancy yourself even a little bit handy, get this. You won't regret it! Water quality from the tap is indistinguishable from what we'd get from our Brita, which is to say the water tastes fresh, clean, refreshing. Again, I highly recommend this filter system.

Installed this about a month ago in our new home and so far, we absolutely love it. Our new home has built-in side-by-side refrigerator/freezer so we don't have "easily" accessible filtered water. Luckily there was a vegetable sink in our kitchen that was easily accessible and would be a great place to fill up our water glasses. Installation took me about 20 minutes, but only because I was triple checking every single connection. What with being a brand new house, the last thing I wanted to do was flood the place the day we moved in! It couldn't have been simpler to install. Water flow is somewhat restricted from what it was, but it's honestly barely noticeable. I know it because I know the filter is on the faucet. But visitors would be completely oblivious (pretty sure the wife and kids are too). It more than makes up for any water flow deficiencies in the quality of filtered water it puts out. Our once nasty tasting city water now tastes as good as the finest bottled you can buy in the store. A month in and I have absolutely zero complaints. No leaks, good water flow... and outstanding tasting water. I plan on adding more of these to my house in the not-so-distant future.

Our city water was getting worse and worse with a lot of chlorine flavor. The filtered water on the fridge is great, but for filling pitchers or anything more than a small glass of water, it takes forever. If your refrigerator doesn't have a water dispenser, this is the answer. We recently had triplets and have been making baby formula by the pitcher, and wanted to be able to use filtered water. I was skeptical about this unit because of the price, but decided to give it a try figuring we could always replace the standard filter with the advanced model if it didn't seem to be doing the job. We have been very pleased with the unit, and in my limited experience don't see a need for anything more complicated or expensive than this. It is sturdy, has a large filter and it came packaged with everything needed for the install when standard 3/8" water lines are in use (almost every kitchen faucet uses this size). We installed it on the cold side of our faucet only in less than ten minutes. One of the quick-connect fittings had a slight drip at first, but after removing and reinserting the tube and giving it a wiggle it seemed to seat just fine. I believe the instructions direct to not use it on hot water, and don't know why you would. The difference in flavor is night and day. My wife is pickier about her water than I am, and will now freely use the kitchen tap for drinking water. The chlorine taste is gone, it's at least as good as what we are used to coming out of the fridge and is very close to any bottled water. Anything that we would want filtered drinking water for we can now get quick and easy right out of the tap which is great for larger quantity items like juice. It did slow the water flow slightly. The product is advertised as flowing 2 gallons per minute. Before installation, I timed filling a gallon pitcher at 29 seconds, almost exactly 2gpm. With the filter in place, it slowed slightly to about 35 seconds per gallon, about 1.7gpm. Practically speaking the difference is minimal. Highly recommended, quick and inexpensive, and you'll appreciate it the first time you make a gallon of juice or don't have a refrigerator dispenser.

This water filter is awesome i purchased the maximum version, i read some reviews complaining about flooding and water leaks so i decided to install it in a different way, look at my pictures. First i ordered a "2 way faucet diverter valve" sold here by Expresd Water. Second, i had to order 2 pushfit adapters (3/8 to 1/4) Third i ordered 1/4 water tubing, Installing the system this way prevents it from being pressurized all the time and so preventing a possible flood. I hope this helps someone
