Great product, fast service.

Really impressed with how well this works with Windows 10. No drivers to install. Setup in Windows took less than a minute. It works fast and flawlessly to login, unlock, and even wake my PC. So far zero false positives and only one false negative out of hundreds of scans. Setting it up to work with LastPass was also quick and works great. My only issue with getting this set up was that it didn't recognize the scanner right away. I restarted the PC with the scanner attached and it picked it up no problem. Overall this is an excellent and cost-effective solution for fingerprint scanning and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Listen it is a simple fingerprint sensor. I bought it so I can use windows hello on my desktop pc. With no setup at all, it works wonderfully. Windows recognized it loaded the drivers automatically and everything. I use windows 10 so I don't know about other windows systems.

This works amazingly with windows hello as well as if you use last pass you can add more security to logging into websites with it. Makes everything a lot easier and more secure, ordering one for my wife's computer as well :)

Once I got it installed successfully, the Bio-key reader did exactly what I wanted. It works pretty reliably for me, once I realised you have to hold your finger there for a second or so. This might sound a little annoying but in practice is still much quicker than typing a password. It's just not quite as fast as my iPhone. (Although having said that my iphone seems overly sensitive to minor changes in my finger due to e.g. doing DIY work). I mainly wanted it to use with LastPass, so I don't have to type in my long master password just to auto-complete something on a web page. However to do that, I had to setup Windows itself to allow fingerprint reader login, including a PIN, and this required group policy changes since my PC is Windows 10 on a domain at work. That's because this reader implements the Windows Biometric Framework, which basically expects to be used for Wndows login. This seemed quite annoying, however... at the end, I really love logging on to Windows with a fingerprint! After I did this, there was a little fiddling with LastPass to get the right versions of modules installed. However I followed the LastPass guide. All-in-all, it's good enough that I'm thinking of getting another one for my home PC (although that looks more tricky since I have Windows 7!)

This reader does not require a swipe, just dab your finga onto the "touchpad" and you are whisked away into the wonderful world of computing. No drivers to install, integrates perfectly/automatically with Windows Hello... what's not to love? The only "con" is that about 1 or 2 times out of ten, I will have to try 3 or 4 times before it lets me in (Win Hello will repeatedly give me a "try again" message). So instead of taking less than 1 second to log in, it might take 5 seconds. But according to what I've read on the internets, this is more of a problem with Windows 10 itself, so no stars are being deducted today. Typing in passwords or PIN codes is for suckers and chumps, so choose wisely...

This product works GREAT! I was skeptical, but after plugging it in and setting it up (seriously only took a couple of scans), works flawlessly with the Windows 10 Biometric Framework. I've almost forgotten it's there. It has just become part of my workflow when logging into my system. I've also configured it to work with LastPass. I tried other inexpensive readers (primarily swipe models), but this is by far the best one. It functions similar to the sensors on current smart phones and is very accurate. In fact I am going to purchase the BIO-key SideTouch for my new Dell Precision 5510 which does not come with a reader; simply because the EcoID has worked so well. Don't be scared to make this purchase (Amazon is great with returns) this is worth it and now I wonder why some of the other more expensive models cost so much.

Works well Windows 10 don't know if works on any other OS but seems to read finger print fairly quick and almost every time so all in all very good product

When I got my first iPhone with TouchID, a world without passwords suddenly seemed possible. This ugly little USB fingerprint reader brings me much closer to that utopia. I installed the reader on my work computer running Windows 7. In the morning I touch my finger to the device for about half a second and I'm logged on. Because I no longer have to type in my password, I changed it to something very secure. I also set my screen to lock after a few minutes of inactivity and with one brief touch and it's unlocked and ready to go again. Better still, I enabled the reader in LastPass. Now entering passwords on websites is a thing of the past too. This device fills in the LastPass master password, including password reprompts. And by using LastPass I'm able to have a different, ridiculously secure, password for each website. Installation was easy but not trivial. I plugged in the reader and Windows 7 recognized it immediately as an unknown device type. The drivers did not automatically download for me, undoubtedly due to some security policy on my work domain. Nevertheless, I easily downloaded the drivers from Bio-Key's website and installed them by selecting update driver in the windows device manager. At that point Windows recognized the reader as a biometric device and the biometric control panel appeared. I scanned in my fingerprints using the control panel and I had the reader working without a single reboot. I'm really impressed with how fast and accurately the reader scans my fingerprints, even under Windows 7. Think iPhone 6s or 7 TouchID speed, not iPhone 5s or 6. And it usually works on the first touch unless I miss the target badly and put my finger halfway on and halfway off the sensor. I give this fingerprint reader two thumbs up! (Sorry, couldn't resist.)
