I searched & tried everything to find a way to connect my old Polaroid VCR/CD player to my new Samsung Smart TV and was unsuccessful until I received this RCA to HDMI converter. Although my smart remote does not work with this VCR/CD player I can still manually control it. I have some old VCR tapes of my kids when they were younger and I sure would of hated to not be able to watch them. Thanks, nice product.

I had imported my UK PS2 to the country in order to play all my old games. Plugging it in and hooking it up, it worked fine but there was a screen problem. The bottom of the display was completely cut off, with a black bar at the top. Changing the screen size and setup wasn’t doing anything - it adjusted the sides, but it looked like we just needed to be able to shift the image up on the screen by a few inches in order to see menus and buttons that were being cut off. I did extensive google searches to see how to fix this, but no luck! That’s when I remembered about this little gadget we had looked at when plugging in our N64, so I ordered one for next day delivery (which came first thing in the morning!), plugged it in and..wow! COMPLETELY fixed my issue. The resolution is obviously not excellent as it’s an old system and an old game, but it’s certainly not bad either. Most importantly though, the game image fits perfectly onto the screen now with no cutoff at all. Exactly what I needed

Discovered I had a defective RCA (Yellow/White/Red triple cable) connection on the back of our TV. Not wanting to give up using our old Wii console or the ancient DVD/VCR player (which utilize the three color connectors rather than an HDMI), I bought this item to convert from the RCA cable connector output of the external device, to an HDMI cable input to the TV. Setup in less than one minute, works perfectly. One last thing: make sure your TV/receiver has an available USB port to provide power.

Tested with an original Xbox and Nintendo 64. Unit works well, picture quality is surprisingly good! Doesn't seem to be any lag at all when playing. Would recommend to others looking to play old consoles on new tvs.

I bought it so I could use my VCR through my Denon AVR-X2300 receiver which does not upscale composite video to HDMI. After reading reviews, I realized it did not come with a power supply so I bought the single Amazon Basics USB power supply. I set the switch on the adapter to 1080 and plugged it in. I changed the input on the receiver I was using to HDMI and voila, it worked. I can't tell any degradation of signal quality - video or audio. In other words, composite video isn't great to begin with so I wasn't expecting an improvement. (Garbage in/garbage out) Okay, so not exactly garbage but it makes you come to appreciate the high definition signals of today. So, I'm happy. I didn't have to try to run another cable through my wall and take the TV off-the-wall to plug a composite video cable in. All for about $21, including adapter and power supply.

After reading reviews, I wasn't too hopeful that this would be worth the money, but...I think it's pretty great. I'm not a hardcore gamer and such, but having the ability to hook my PS2 up to my new TV (with only HDMi ports) was what I was going for. Overall, it was just fun to be able to play the games again, and that's all I was looking to do. Picture: Yeah, the picture isn't the best, but it's certainly good enough to play the game. I played two different games and the edges are a little "soft"at times (definitely lacking a crispness), but you also have to keep in mind that this system and the games were not designed to be played on U4K TVs either. I ended up setting it and on the 720p and leaving it. I felt the 1080p made it too blocky feeling and the picture didn't have a smooth flow to it as you moved about. Sound: I found no issue with the sound. It was crisp and clear. Lagging: I did not notice any lagging in controls or controller feedback vs what was happening on the screen. Games Played: Jax II 007:Everything or Nothing

Got this to connect my roomate's GameCube to our new TV which only has HDMI. Works great, only downside is it shows as "on" any time USB has power so I had to be careful what order I plug things into the HDMI switcher-select box so it wouldn't "override" other devices. I had to mess with the 720/1080 switch to see which looked better, I forget what I decided but one of the positions seemed to look less pixelated so that's what I went with, obviously up-converting won't be a crisp HD picture but it's quite acceptable for old games.

Purchased a used Wii after selling mine years ago, I needed a way to hook up to my HDMI tv. After pouring over reviews for the Wii to HDMI Converter, (the small one that plugs directly into the back of the wii) I was worried about the audio, since a lot of reviews said it had audio problemss. I decided to buy this converter instead because it actually used the existing Wii audio RCA cables. I have had zero problems, works perfectly, audio is perfect. You do have to use an old iPhone USB adapter that you have lying around in order to power the converter, that's not quite clear in the instructions.

This worked perfectly to connect an old VCR/DVD combo to a newer TV that did not have RCA inputs. Your TV must have a USB input to power this box. If your TV does not have a USB input then you will need to run some kind of power supply to this box via a USB connection.

FINALLY got all my old school gaming systems going to my HDMI projector! Easy plug and play and this works with my NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, original PlayStation and Sega Genesis.
