Great sharpener!
This tool is great! I was able to sharpen all my knives quick and easy. I love all the little extra features built in also. Make sure you scrape off the black coating on the fire started before you try to use it (this is also explained in the instructions).

Very useful for my EDC knife.
Been mostly used as an emergency whistle to get colleagues' attention from across the parking lot we work in. However, I also carry a Condor Bushnecker neck knife as both a work tool and EDC knife. This sharpener is part of my EDC setup and I use it to give both my Bushnecker and my folding knife edge touch ups as needed. The only annoyance I had was difficulty looping paracord through the lanyard hole, necessitating the addition of a key chain ring to loop the cord through. However, it still deserves a five star. I would recommend it to others and I would buy it again. I look forward to seeing more of what SHARPAL has to offer in the future.

It is a very compact tool so it fits great in any time of back pack or tackle box
Purchased this tool, to bring with fishing and camping. It is a very compact tool so it fits great in any time of back pack or tackle box. No need to bring fire starting tools any more as this tool does it all. Perfect for sharpening hooks and knifes when out doors and eliminates the need to bring multiple tools. The Emergency Whistle is a great addition and very loud when used.

This little gadget is a beautiful design that incorporates many useful features into one portable compact design. The V sharpening slot actually works really well! I use to keep my pocket knives sharp. Really quick to get a good edge. The diamond tapered rod works well for resharpening serrated edges and gut hooks. It is long enough to give advantage in use. The rod stays firmly in place when not use. Fire starter throws a lot of sparks! Whistle is very loud, great for emergency use. Awesome! I will buy more as a gift.

Nice product.
Works really well sharpening my knives, especially the ones that have a serrated edge. Also like the fact that it has an emergency whistle and fire starter built in for just in case. I like that it comes in safety orange so it's easy to spot in case you drop it on the ground. Handy item to have for all situations good or bad.

Probably the best addition to...
...survival sheaths. I'm a leather crafter. I make knife sheaths when requested. This is probably the best, compact, survival tool I can add a pocket for on any and every sheath I make. It's pretty simple. If you ask me for a sheath, this is the only "free" option I offer, simply because sometimes it's best to make sure someone has the tool(s) they need to survive than to make a profit. I have a stock of these I use to fill that purpose. The pocket on the sheath is free. They gladly pay for the additional cost of this gadget once I explain its use. ALL of my personal sheaths have the 101 attached. NO exceptions.

Impressed.
Let me first say that I sell and work on knives for a living, so I know what I'm talking about, I'm not solely expressing my opinion as a "knife guy". I picked this up on a lark as I have tried multiple pull throughs, including most popular one's here on Amazon. That being said, this little guy is actually better than either Lansky's or Smith's current basic offerings, if you can believe that. I just used it to sharpen a Kershaw Filter, and now my inner left arm is clean shaven, with no irritation. This impressed me, as it only took about 5 minutes, and it looks to be set at a 20° angle correctly on both coarse and fine options. I haven't tried using the ferro rod combo, so I can't attest to it's functionality. The whistle, however works quite well; my beagle agrees. Overall, I'd have to recommend it if you're looking for a good pull through that won't chew up your blade. Good value for the money, too.

Portable Knife Sharpener
The portability of this knife sharpener is best part because I can throw it into my bag and always have it with me. The sharpening abilities are straight forward to use and do a great job quickly. The fire starter is a little confusing to use at first but when figured out works nicely.

Excellent Customer Service! LOVE the sharpeners! Highly recommended!
Excellent Customer Service! I ordered one of these that got lost in shipping transit. Not the fault of the seller and Amazon refunded my money so I could order another one. A few weeks later I got a package from this seller with a replacement for the lost Sharpener AND a larger version for knives, axes, etc. Both versions are excellent. Razor sharp edges in a very short time. Came with a note apologizing for the trouble and offering the extra item for the inconvenience. This was after I'd already ordered a replacement for the small one from Amazon. So now I have the pocket one in my kit and in my truck and the large one in the shop. The small ones are perfect pocket size, lightweight, only is it a multiple use Sharpener, but also has a whistle, fire starter and an attachment spot to run a lanyard through or a good length of 550 paracord like I did. Not to mention that everything I have is Razor sharp now. LOVE IT! HIGHLY recommend!

Love it.
I've been a subscriber to the fixed angle carbide sharpeners for a long time. I gave stones an honest shot- with oil, without oil, with water, without water, different angles, different strokes- I tried everything. In the end it always seemed to take forever and never left me with the sharpness I wanted. The carbides might be a brute force tactic, not refined enough for some, but for me they just plain work. I get a super sharp blade in seconds, and I'm ready to go. One drawback, though, is that they can easily oversharpen and take off too much metal- especially if you're trying to sharpen a blade that's not exactly dull yet, but that you want to make razor sharp. Well, sharpeners like this one solve that exact problem by having the secondary fine edge sharpener built in. This one has fixed ceramic as well as a rounded diamond sharpener. The firestarter (works great if you use it properly) and the whistle (loud) are just icing on the cake. This tool has a high quality build with a lot of functionality. I'd never heard of Sharpal before I ordered this, so I was a bit skeptical, but I'm so glad I got it! I also ordered their multipurpose sharpening tool here on Amazon too (also high quality) for sharpening larger blade tools (it also has a fine honing edge that is made of carbide as well, which should be a great for sharpening levels in between the ceramic and the rough carbide. The only negative I can see with this sharpener is that it doesn't have rubber strips or feet opposite the fixed sharpeners for holding it more steadily on a flat surface while sharpening, but honestly I never did that with my carbide sharpeners in the past anyway. I held the sharpener in one hand and the knife in the other without setting anything down. You can still set this one down- the edge is flat- it just isn't rubberized there.
