Must have fix for Smart TV too stupid for over-the-air-broadcasts!
We accidentally bought a VIZIO "Smart TV" that has no installed software for streaming and no coax connection port; guess SMART is one of those words that doesn't mean what it used to anymore. We dumped DirecTV and wanted to get the local channels through the ancient magic of Free Broadcast, so we stuck an indoor antenna on the window, plugged it into this box, HDMI connected this box to the beautiful but functionally useless TV and it all works better than my daddy's TV back when he used to watch Bonanza and Gunsmoke without having to skip meals to pay for it; and I don''t even have to climb up on the roof to turn the antenna anymore! Menu system is about as intuitive as most other "smart" stuff these days; be patient and it'll work itself out. I stuck a flashdrive in the USB slot and it stores shows better than my VCR ever did. Don't know what else it could do that it doesn't do.

BEST BUY FOR THE BUCK ! ! !
This tuner is a great TV appliance for on the on air broadcasting stations and networks. I retrieves it's time clock data from on stations you can program the recorder from the digital program guide that it also retrieves from the on air stations. TV programs are recorded as computer file on a flash drive or external HD. Using this media you may watch your programs on your TV or computer in high definition. I use a 16 g flash drive and copy them to my computer hard drive for later viewing. It can also receive digital FM radio transmissions. The tuner's sensitivity is as good the antenna and station out put power, and terrain. But all in all, BEST BUY FOR THE BUCK ! ! !

You can turn almost any display screen into a TV
My wife won a 60" Vizio "Home Theater Display". Yipee!!! We thought it was a 60" HD TV. It's not. A Home Theater Display will show your DVDs and if you have Roku or a similar device, will display channels you stream from the Internet. We spend most of our viewing time watching CBS, which we capture with an antennae. That's why we don't have Cable or Satellite. Now, back to the Home Theater Display. You can't get any broadcast stations on it, since it does not have a TV tuner. Get a Premium ATSC Clear QAM TV Tuner + USB DVR and you can get all of the available broadcast stations in your area. Although we haven't tried it yet, you can supposedly plug in an external hard drive via USB and record and play back shows. A free 60" Home Theater Display is nice, but a 60" TV/Home Theater Display is much better. This little tuner box was well worth the price.

Five Stars
It works very well for an inexpensive DVR. Added a 1T HDD.
