• 74HC4051 to switch analog or digital signals
  • 8 channels controlled by 3 select inputs
  • Wide voltage supply range: 2 – 10V Bipolar supply support (e.g., ±5V)
  • Optional enable input
  • Breadboard compatible breakout

It is useful in several applications. In mine "ground" is being switched among eight pins that are inputs to a computer. It can also be used to switch eight analog inputs to a single A/D converter. Three pins and an enable determine which of the eight pins the common pin is switched to. Being CMOS the supply voltage can be as low as 2 Volts, which is important as the computer can supply 3.3 volts, but not 5 volts.

This arrived quickly and has worked flawlessly. I am using it to run multiple inputs, 2 flex sensors and 2 pressure pads into my arduino board.

great for midi projects
