These spoons are fabulous. I work with children with feeding challenges; and each child I have introduced this spoon to this school year are now feeding themselves independently! I love how they are flexible and "no fail"-the food grips onto the ridges inside and it is instant reinforcement for the little ones to keep at it. If a child is still flipping the spoon before placing it into their mouth, it works for that as well. Can't recommend them highly enough!

My baby loves this. He's very determined to feed himself since the first week I started feeding him solid foods. I bought these after they were recommended by a friend and they definitely work! I get a little bit of food on them and give it to him, he chews on it and I manage to get some more bites in using a second spoon. If he decides to fling the spoon, then food will get everywhere but that can be expected lol. The spoon also makes for a great teether - it's soft and feels very nice!

Got this as a spoon when we started solids with my 6 month old. I was skeptical about how the holes would be able to hold the food but it works! We mix our food till it's pretty thick, but even when we have used just straight baby food it does not drip out of the holes. I'm sure if you held it for a while some would come out. He also loves using it as a chewy. The spoon end is softer and the back is a bit harder. It's easy for him to hold and clean up is a cinch, both by hand and in the dishwasher.

When we first started giving my one year old a spoon, I had a lot of concerns that he would never be able to feed himself using anything other than his hands. However, after a few more practice sessions, he really got the hang of it. These spoons are nice and short so there is less chance of him losing the food off the spoon between his plate and his mouth. I also like that it is silicone, so when he was first learning, he wasn't jamming metal into his gums.

Flexible & easy for baby to hold. These starter spoons are wonderful! The baby always grabs the spoon and tries to feed herself when we are feeding her. These spoons are very easy for her to hold, they are soft and flexible, and they hold pureed foods in them (no matter how she holds the spoon). We also purchased "the First Years - First Food Spoons" (shown in picture with these spoons). These spoons are more flexible and seem easier for baby to hold. I highly recommend these spoons! I used these to give my 4.5-month-old her first taste of food! Since the food isn't balanced on the spoon, but rather "in there," I could let her hold it and essentially feed herself. In addition to being adorable, it also great for hand-eye coordination. She can also suck on the spoon for a while to get the food out of it.

My 6 month old loves using this spoon. She enjoys feeding herself and has been pretty successful at it. The purée stays on the spoon no matter which way she holds it. The handle is perfect for her little hands. They are easy to clean. We love these spoons so much, we just bought more.

My grandson is very insistent on learning to feed himself with a spoon but doesn't quite have the coordination down yet. With this spoon he is guaranteed to get some food on it and into his mouth which he can't manage yet with a regular spoon. There is no right side up or right side down so he can't get it wrong and have food plop out. I like it because he can't get enough food on it to make a huge mess if the cereal (or whatever) falls off, but enough for him to feel like he is accomplishing something.

So these spoons are fabulous. There are a few negatives to these- namely the color stains a bit with the yellow veggies I’ve fed my kids, and the spoons get slippery quick if you allow your baby to try and hold them. However, the material being silicone is a big selling point for me. The design of this spoon I like so much- I squish purée into the spoon and let my infant ‘chew’ it to get in their mouths. This works great for thicker purees.

My son was really struggling with solids and the closer we got to 18 months, the more I worried. Every meal was a battle--purees, finger foods, all of it. While searching for some advice, I stumbled across an article by an occupational therapist who recommended these spoons for reluctant eaters. I immediately purchased and they've been a godsend! It started with yogurt and then on to fruits and now vegetable purees--as long as he can use this spoon, he's happy. I don't know what it it--the ease on control or the soft mouth-feel--but I'll gladly take it!
