I ordered this modem, prior to my installation of Comcast/Xfinity cable and internet service. I wanted to save money on my monthly cable bill, since they charge $10 per month to rent their modem (and I wanted to know what I was getting). I chose this modem, based on the reviews, and I think it was a great choice. I paid the extra $60 to Comcast for professional installation, but after watching how easy it was for him, I realized I could have saved that $60 and got myself a new pair of shoes instead! The Home I am renting was already wired for cable service, and this unit was literally a plug and play device. The WiFi password is printed on the bottom of the modem, so it’s easy to authorize any wireless device - this is essential for us, since we homeschool and sometimes have guests who bring along their tablets and laptops for games or study purposes. We have had no issues or problems with our internet connection, and I would recommend this modem. Some stats that may apply, before you make a decision: our home is a 3 bedroom duplex, approximately 1100 square feet. The signal from this router remains strong throughout our home, including the basement and attached garage.

I have Spectrum internet (formally Brighthouse, formally Time Warner) and the modem they provide is straight from the 90's. I don't pay for a huge connection, just 50mbps. On a good day I was getting 20-25. I've called, complained about the lack of speed, asked for a new modem....nothing. $100 later and same day shipping, I installed this modem, called Spectrum and set it up. I ran a speed test and I had a 52mbps connection. I couldn't believe it, best money I've spent in a long time. Instructions were clear and I had it up and running with a new password and network name in no time.

TWC Spectrum rents it's modem for $120 per annum. This is a better modem with solid WiFi that will quickly pay for itself.

Easy setup, strong signal, and no lag in download speed. Worth the buy.

Works perfectly with Comcast. Easy to install even with no reading the manual. I recommend it and save money.

I spent hours researching modem/routers to replace my Comcast unit. I figured over the last 5 years, I paid for at least six of them. After reading the details on EVERY "approved" and "compatible" unit that meets Comcast requirements I chose Motorola. I picked this model one because every "4" rating really was no different than the "5" rating and most of the "1" and "2" ratings were stupid responses. I didn't see the need to buy the top of the line so I chose this as it was closed to the top and was on sale for $50.00 off....great deal. I received it today, on a Sunday no less, as promised, called Comcast and gave them the S/N and the MAC. I just switch the coax cable, the 2 Ethernet cables, plugged in the power and voila! I was up and running in about 3-5 minutes after Comcast activated it. The most exciting thing is, everything is much faster with the new unit!

Bought this to replace catv provided unit. I didn’t expect much performance gain (24mbps max dL signal) but wanted to get rid of the monthly rental fee. What I DID notice was the immediate increase in WiFi signal strength. It’s far and away better signal strength allowed me to take down a range extender I had been relying on. The install, setup, and activation was easy and straightforward. Used my laptop to establish contact with the unit and used provided setup screen for SSID / password setup. Contacted provider and the connection was completed quickly. Easy stuff. WPS capability made getting the rest of my devices connected a simple evolution. 4 Cat-5 ports on rear being used for nearby equipment - easy connections. I’d recommend this unit to someone needing a stronger WiFi signal in a relatively low dL speed provider environment.

This is 2nd one MG7315 that I have purchased and they work great. First, this model is compatible with all the major cable companies, second it has 4 lan ports on the back to plug into. You want those so you can plug in your wireless TV then this brings the signal instantly to the TV without any buffering, and in doing this you also free up your wifi. ALSO plug in your Roku box in one of the lan ports. You should know this modem just has a single 2.4 Ghz wifi network and not dual 5 .0 wifi, but thats ok if you plug in the TV. If you want 2.4 and 5.0 wifi buy the TP Link wifi router and plug it in to the back of the modem. Lastly and most Important: change the modem name and password. Look at label on bottom of modem you will see an IP address that starts off like 168. you need to type in complete address into google and use present login and pasword as printed on the label, pretty much motorola and admin are the two. Once you type in IP the modem brain appears on your screen and look for login and password, change those, then be sure to click on both the save buttons. You see the Hackers have programs surfing the net looking for modems and people that did not change these, then they get into your computer. So do this, save 10-11.00 a month and enjoy the internet.

I was reluctant to get this because I had a modem-router combo awhile ago, but the router part wasn't as good as the one it replaced. I got this because my old modem - router couldn't handle more than 3 Mbps and with Spectrum-Time Warner I was paying for much more. Also, I got tired of having to go through the steps of resetting both the modem and router when my internet connection went down and also having a poor connection away from the router. Since I got this my internet has not gone down at all. Connections away from the router are very fast and both the modem and router are able to handle the higher speed Spectrum-Time Warner now offers. Also, since there have been a number of questions about what this modem offers, I'm attaching a picture of the back of it.

I bought two other modems to use for my Xfinity Internet, and spent a total of 2 days all day on the phone with both Xfinity and the company both tp-link and tenda, and I ended up having to send both products back because I could not get them to work after approximately 20 hours on the phone with customer service. This modem literally took only 5 minutes to set up with Xfinity and I had all three of my devices running instantly with no problems! I am so happy with the ease of setup! And Xfinity customer service told me that they have never had any problems with Motorola.
